Meghan's long-awaited podcast has launched. Sorry if there's a thread about this already. Has anyone listened to it yet? Thoughts?

I can't believe that the Royals were made to stay somewhere unsafe, especially from a security perspective

Well, if we're thinking about fires there's what happened to Windsor, and that really was a hell of a mess - and one, incidentally, where the family just carried on afterwards

Not that they had much choice, considering the row that broke out over who would pay for it ...

Samcro · 28/08/2022 11:38

@susan12345678 whats wrong with a green dress? missed that

It’s histrionic, pretentious and insincere.

Xenia · 28/08/2022 12:13

I hope they can both come back to the UK more, let the cousins get to know each other and that they see the royal relatives. As I am sure that is what The Queen (as would any grandmother) wants it would be rather nice if it could be done for the sake of others even if MM and Harry don't want to do it. Sometimes not doing what you want is the right thing to do including MM seeing her father and two half siblings, letting them see the children even if just a few times a year. It just looks kinder.

I could be wrong, but I thought that poster just said "the one where she wore the green dress" as a way to show which event she was talking about, rather than that green itself was particularly wrong?

susan12345678 · 28/08/2022 12:14

There was nothing wrong with the green dress. I just mentioned it to help describe which Commonwealth service I was referring to, as the dress was memorable. I rather liked it! It was H & Ms's behaviour that attracted criticism on that occasion, not their dress.

thanks
I watched the CA and didn't see anything that made me hate her.

Sorry, who said they hated her? I must have missed that post. I mentioned that they attracted criticism for demanding a change to the order of procession, even though the programmes had already been printed.

It's the sort of thing that makes one smirk or roll their eyes about someone, not hate them 😊

But not apparently to question whether it’s true.

I wouldn’t call it hatred, I’d just call it obsessive bitching and to some degree, invention.

BlueRidge · 28/08/2022 13:42

It is fairly well-documented about the order of procession and Harry's angry face throughout indicated an issue of some kind.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 28/08/2022 14:00

IMO so did them working their way through the chairs, BlueRidge - and that's not somehow imagined, but right there on record

I'm usually the first to say "We can't know ...", but something certainly happened to alter the publicised arrangements. Maybe W or K weren't feeling well and wanted to be seated rather than being in a procession or whatever?

It’s hard to argue with it as it was leaked that H and M had complained that they weren’t included in the procession . In order to avoid a full scale row, W and C agreed not to join it.
As the programmes stated that W and C would be in the Queen’s procession, it doesn’t take Einstein to work out there was a last minute hitch . Also , H looked furious.

Readinginthesun · 28/08/2022 14:24

Sorry x posted with @BlueRidge

Puzzledandpissedoff · 28/08/2022 14:41

H looked furious

He very often does, but in fairness that can be down to whatever image the media choose to print

However the media weren't responsible for his expression at the live televised service, and I can't argue that he did indeed look furious - though there's no knowing exactly why

You are right he does. I don't pay attention to pictures but on videos he often looks that way.

I’ve not listened to it yet but I’ve seen The Sunday Times and The Telegraph gave it bad reviews. The Telegraph says it’s just another excuse for Meghan to talk about herself and The Sunday Times calls it ‘almost entirely prosperous’ and ‘packed with tinkly music and vapid chat’.

It’s kind of putting me off wanting to listen to it to be honest.

What a silly comment . Ofc the mainstream media is in the back pocket of the RF!

antelopevalley · 28/08/2022 16:35

Do or do not listen to it. It is number 1 in the US Spotify charts. No one cares if you listen to it or not.
I have not. Nobody cares either way. I am not the target audience.

Ineedwinenow · 28/08/2022 16:36

I originally thought it was brave of them both leaving the Royal family especially after a lot of criticism and general hate they received and I actually was a big supporter of them and their future but what has made me think twice is basically slamming and slagging off their families on the international stage.

Yes we all have a creepy uncle or crazy cousin and there’s tons of anonymous posts on about Mils on here but that’s the thing, it’s anonymous we don’t all go on TV or podcasts doing what they are still doing, other than H&M I haven’t seen another celebrity go on international TV slamming their family to the extent they have done and even after Oprah/Apple TV/various other interviews they are both still moaning about them and now she has another 11 episodes of a podcast to do it!

She has been out of the Royal family now longer than she was in it so she really needs to plan a future away from moaning and whinging about her in-laws

antelopevalley · 28/08/2022 16:39

@Ineedwinenow But a lot of the Royal Family do this. Have you watched the interview Charles gave years ago where he said the Queen and Philip were [retty awful parents?
There was zero need for it.
Andrew's car crash interview, the documentary of the Royal Family showing them watching TV and supposed to be a type of a fly on the wall documentary, Sarah Ferguson has spoke critically about members of the Royal Family.

They appear at heart a pretty dysfunctional family where some members publicly criticise other members.

Was referring to the whole thread, not one particular issue. The idea that something is true because it was ‘leaked’ is hilaire.

Totally agree , they all have had one or two interviews over the year but M&H are making a living out of it.

I honestly would be a big supporter of theirs if they did good things ( I bought the cookbook and still even now donate to the dog rescue home they were patrons of) but at the moment they are too upset to focus on anything else but family hatred, it’s exhausting to hear! Even poor Serena couldn’t get a word in edgeways and she’s had an incredible career and I would have loved to have learnt more from her

I read somewhere that Cressida Bonas got fed up with Harry complaining about his family all the time to her. Perhaps this moaning and finding fault is something M and H have in common.

😆😆 possibly! As PP poster said when they quoted my comment they all do seem dysfunctional! But surely now they have two beautiful children who should be their focus, why not do something child related, I had high hopes for her podcast especially knowing the divide that is currently forming over womens rights (which is important to me) but nope it’s still her moaning 🙈😆

She did say it was going to be the real her unfiltered. Perhaps that's who she really is. A bit of a moaning Minnie. Minnie Markle. 😁

Haha, it does appear that way! So much for interviewing various strong capable women and delving into their work and passions! I was very disappointed, although it’s Mariah next week and it isn’t one I will be tuning into! Mariah being a diva and Meghan moaning isn’t filling me with joy! I can just open wine, sit in my garden and read some posts on here for that 😆
