Meghan's long-awaited podcast has launched. Sorry if there's a thread about this already. Has anyone listened to it yet? Thoughts?

I haven’t heard the whole podcast but I did hear a clip where she said she’d never thought of ambition for a woman as a bad thing until she married her husband. Why does she keep looking backwards and with such apparent bitterness? I thought these podcasts were supposed to be uplifting and positive?

i did see he’s now being referred to as Cooklyn 🤣

but joking aside, society is at a real risk of dumbing down if this is level of discourse being touted as a serious discussion on an important topic

and we’re living in a post truth Era when people feel free to ignore facts and use their ‘opinion’ instead which is equally worrying

Absolutely agree with you. Dame Helena Kennedy has written a couple of books re women's position in society and they are well worth a read. I am slightly biassed because she inspired me years ago and still does. Mary Beard's book is also rather good re women and power in a historical context. Both amazing women who deserved publication and have the intellectual background and research to do it well.

I have never listened to a podcast so can't judge or compare. but why do people listen just to slag her off. why are people so interested in someone they dislike so much. I don’t listen to podcast either or follow every update about them nor do I follow any Twitter or Insta accounts about any of them, I’m mainly following gardeners, Interiors/digital Lifestyle creators and so on , and believe me it’s difficult to ignore when it’s all over the place and talked about everywhere, just like todays Vogue Williams thread. I don’t exactly know who she is but as it’s everywhere I found out shes Pippas SIL?
sometimes topics or people are so polarising they are just everywhere and talked about by non royal fans or anti or pro Susssex/ Cambridges/ The Queen/Prince of wales or whatever .

And yet, he is now increasingly famous and influential just by virtue of relentless publicity and our never-ending appetite for celebrity. Not only is there potential for him to make millions or more, but there is also the possibility that he will end up influencing what people wear, how they spend, how they speak, how they view themselves and what they think.

Rest assured he won't be influencing me or any of my friends! We take the view that unless there is a background of intellect backed up with at least a post grad qualification and a strong specialism in said subject they don't add anything to our world . . . because without, many don't know what they're talking about and nothing.

She seems to genuinely believe she has the right to live a life with no stress or strain, no real work and no inconvenience.
