As the other thread has filled up I wondered if anyone would like to discuss the book here. I’m listening to it on Audible now.

No one sails through life delighting everyone, the reality is people have rubbish days. Some people also treat those they perceive as of little use to them poorly.
I think MM supporters would have far more credibility if they didn’t always go with the predictable pushback that she is above reproach.

OP Of course no one sails through life without annoying others. But most people don't have a book written about them that was written to destroy her (that I believe was his words) picking up on any negative thing he can find that has happened in her life.
So off you go with your credibility nonsense, this is a trashy biased book, we could all have one written about us highlighting minor skirmishes in our lives, then have people like you saying how awful we all are.

You never read the books Rousette. You just decide what you think about them , focusing on the negatives. It’s a pretty balanced book, as most people who have read it have said. I personally found it pretty boring as most of it is in the public domain already, but it did put things in much sharper focus for me . The world of influencing and PR for example is well explained.

Also the sort of life Meghan led before she met Harry. It gives a good account of that and helped me understand more about the facts.

There are loads of photos of him and Meghan smiling laughing and happy. You just do't want to see them

Another selective quote from you ! I clarified my comment , I meant post leaving the RF .

I agree . TB is very complimentary to MM in some places .

Do not say that thank you. I meant when he left the RF because that was what we were discussing.

There are plenty of pictures of them in the US looking very happy. You just don't want to see him happy.

Roussette · 11/08/2022 07:48

If you want to see lots of smiles and happiness check out this video (which will incense those who are negative about H&M, it's a positive story and they look very happy)

Archewell Foundation is set to receive an award for advocating for Afghan refugees - and providing 'generous financial support'. This youtube clip explains all about it.
Good on them.

Good grief ! 2 things - well done on scouring the internet for this and also MM is an actress . As soon as she sees a camera she automatically smiles .
Contrary to what you think I hope Harry is happy . He has given up so much for his wife . As I said a short time ago , he never wanted to leave the RF , he wanted a half in half out arrangement and when HM said no I think ( obviously I don’t know as I am not privy to his brain) he was shell shocked . I don’t think he was used to people saying no to him . To be fair I don’t think any of the RF are used to people saying no to them !
You are clearly a staunch defender of all things H and M - fair enough - but many others ( myself included) have reservations. It doesn’t make me a hater or a racist or any of the other accusations flung around .

Roussette · 11/08/2022 08:37

What on earth do you mean?
It's just happened and all over Twitter and in other MSM this morning with Archewell trending so no, I did not scour the internet.

And what do you mean by her being an actress and smiling? I thought the whole discussion point was Harry not smiling since he left the RF which is why I showed otherwise, we weren't talking about Meghan.

You are clearly a staunch defender of all things H and M
Call me what you want. Personally I just don't like unwarranted bullying of someone

Roussette · 11/08/2022 08:40

It is also not ^2 things". It's all related, the youtube has just been posted as it was announced they had received this award, trending now. You obviously didn't look at the footage.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 11/08/2022 08:41

It is a shame they couldn’t work out a halfway house. H&M could have done the glitzy premieres or world stage stuff, bits in America or Africa - more globetrotting than W&K can do. Nothing too “woke” to scare people, M gets to be Amal Clooney-lite and the royal family and the UK get a boost globally

Sounds grand, doesn't it? Except that as we're now seeing, some of those they choose to associate with were unlikely to stick with cooing over their "humanitarianism" - they want the dirt and aren't above encouraging a sense of grievance to get it, so in some ways H&M have just swapped one type of exploitation for another

Since she appears much the more intelligent of the two and is used to the system, I believe Meghan understands this and accepts it for her own reasons. Harry, however, may well be less assured since his background will hardly have prepared him for this kind of world

Well done them for their award.

What is it that gets people 'het' up about this couple in particular, I wonder.

The fact that they are happy and successful is not going down well I'm afraid.

People we're hoping they fail when they were told to fuck off with the half in and out.. Well, it turns out they are not the ones accused of peados, stashing money in carrier bags and dealing with Russia, Bin laden and god knows who else.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 11/08/2022 08:50

As I said a short time ago , he never wanted to leave the RF, he wanted a half in half out arrangement ...

Through goodness knows how many threads you may well be the only other person who's mentioned this, but you missed off the bit about why on earth he'd want an ongoing arrangement at all, if the institution had created the sort of damage he alleges

FWIW I believe he's quite right that the institution is damaging, but that really doesn't explain why he'd be so keen to continue having anything to do with it if the "personal consequence" claims are true

notanotheroneagain · 11/08/2022 08:59

Why wouldn't he.

It just means he gets away from the likes of Edward Young, who basically runs the show.
When they say 'The Queen said', they mean those guys. They have a choke hold on the rf and are running it down as far as I'm concerned.

There, I said it.

So off you go with your credibility nonsense, this is a trashy biased book, we could all have one written about us highlighting minor skirmishes in our lives, then have people like you saying how awful we all are.

@Roussette your proclamation was “Everyone prior to her marriage talked about what a delight she was to work with.“
I refuted this with examples from the book - and provided references at your request - which you then followed up on and couldn’t disprove.

And so now you come back with this personal attack:
“So off you go with your credibility nonsense, this is a trashy biased book, we could all have one written about us highlighting minor skirmishes in our lives, then have people like you saying how awful we all are.“
The book may well be biased but no more than you are. Like many others have said, those have actually read the book, it is quite complimentary about MM where credit is due. The thing is, no one, not even MM is perfect and flawless, so of course the book also shows the other, usually hidden, side of her character.

I’m not sure why you are on this thread if you aren’t reading the book and refuse to do so. The purpose of the thread is to discuss the book. You can’t meaningfully critique the book and/or “defend” MM if you haven’t actually read the book. The case above was an example, you didn’t have the context as you hadn’t read the book. I helpfully provided it and you insulted me for reading the book at all. Perhaps you would be better placed to start another thread devoted solely to positive comments about MM, and leave us to discuss the book without enduring insults and personal attacks for lowering ourselves to reading it in the first place.

Yeah, course you did Hmm
All I am saying is... there are a lot of people who came out and spoke of how kind she was and what a pleasure she was to work with.
The book is what it is, digging around to find the opposite. You provided one name by the way, not 'references' lol

For the umpteenth time, no one is perfect, not her, not me, not you, not anyone. I never said she was.

I’m not sure why you are on this thread if you aren’t reading the book and refuse to do so

Have all the posters on here read the book? Nah.
If you wanted a strict criteria for your thread that no one can comment unless they have read the book, you should've put it in your thread title. I imagine 80% or more of the posters on here, haven't.

And no, you won't see me off your thread, I can post where I like, it's a discussion forum we're on, and we're not in North Korea Grin Maybe you'd be better placed to understand how forums work!

If my posts break TG feel free to report any.

notanotheroneagain · 11/08/2022 09:29

@TideTimeSea what you are basically saying is that you want a silo of hateful echo chamber.

We don't have to endorse Bower's book, there are enough screenshots to make out what he says.

Yep. A corner of MN just for nastiness about H&M. No one else allowed! No one entitled to dispute anything! No disagreement on the view they're awful !

Yeah right... a forum is a place where people exchange ideas, and discuss issues. It is not a one view place where those that don't agree are banned.

I am not trying to see you off the thread and I am sorry if you think that . I was just rather hoping that you ( and others) might see that the blinkered devotion is …..odd .
have a nice day .

Samcro · 11/08/2022 09:40

its like going back in time, where anyone who didn't want to just post negative stuff about M was told they would be ignored(and other stuff)
you can't say who posts on a thread on mn.

notanotheroneagain · 11/08/2022 09:43

Does not replace him at all.
They all work together.

Edward Young was pushed in, back in 2017 - when Sir Christopher did not want to go - Charles doing the pushing. Shortly after the wedding, they deployed Simon 'I don't know anything' Case, who then left straight after the exit. Byline did an article where they stated the links to JK and Christian 's boyfriend - Callum as the on who leaked the exit to Dan Wootton. They saw his paid receipts from the rags.

All your article proves is that EY is the one who denied the Sussexes security and still they lied to H and said it was a Home Office decision alone.

Bower's wife is a toryMBE in the House of Lords. She was also BoJo's advisor - hence Bower's book on Bojo and his hatchet job on Corbyn.

All roads lead back to the palace.

Actually I provided the names of two directors.
But you are pricing my point, I shouldn’t have to provide any names - they are all in the book and this thread is to discuss the book.
