They did play polo and never pretended to give out cups, what are you on about.

they didn’t win it, getting knocked out before the final.

Different posters but both statements are wrong.
Los Padres, Harry's team, did actually win the Lisle Nixon Cup on 29 May. But the photos of them lifting the cup were taken on 22 May after they'd knocked the Klentner Rangers out of the quarter finals. (It was in all the papers on the 23rd.)

So although they did eventually win the competition, they recorded the awarding of the cup, I think for the Netflix cameras, before they had actually won. I guess Netflix would just not show it had they lost. But if they do show it and they're all celebrating their win, it will be them just acting for the cameras. Which will then obviously make people wonder what else is manipulated and false, I guess. Oh what a tangled web...

Serenster · 20/07/2022 19:09

One other point of interest - the photos of Meghan presenting the polo trophy were credited to Backgrid, a celebrity photo agency. A google image search “Backgrid Meghan Markle” show they are very well informed indeed about her whereabouts - they take most of the paparazzi shots of her (including at the New York restaurant where she and Harry dined last night).

The trophies of the actual trophy ceremony were however taken by David Lominska, a specialist polo photographer.

Also, if H&M were feeding the British tabloids news, you think the fail wouldn't triumphantly shout that from the rooftops

What universe do you live in where you think newspapers would reveal their sources?

The Fail are gunning for H&M, you really think they would let an opportunity to prove them relying on them for publicity pass, they already lie about them as it is. H&M said no engagement with Fail, you think they would not show us the letter or any proof that they do. Seems your the one living in an alternative universe.

Also
Archewell is soliciting donations from the public to fund its activities and charitable endeavours.
Which public would that be.
Cause last I checked, Archewell does not take money from plebs, they direct you to the charity. What has the UK got to do with Archewell anyway.

notanotheroneagain · 20/07/2022 19:21

There is nothing tangled about it, except on here.

There was never any announcement of a trophy win. Where is it? Post it please.

What H&M do behind the scene and how they prepare is really none of your business. Who they talk to in the US is none of your business, not only are you not there, you are not the market, they are not talking to you and they never said they would not engage with the press - if anything they specifically said they would engage with some publication, just not the 4 main British tabloids as they listed them.

Ohnonevermind · 20/07/2022 19:23

@notanotheroneagain

So they presented themselves with the cup a week before winning it (for the Netflix cameras) - or was it three days 🤣

notanotheroneagain · 20/07/2022 19:29

😂knock yourself out, on your imagined cuckoo land @Ohnonevermind 😂😂😂

www.newsweek.com/meghan-markle-prince-harry-awkward-polo-trophy-moment-caught-camera-1709650?amp=1

why were they lifting a cup they hadn’t won 🤔

@notanotheroneagain

who are you to police what can and can’t be said about Meghan and Harry. It’s a public forum, I’m being perfectly polite ?

I’m just bemused at the story they’re stringing together for the Netflix documentary, when their reality is far more pedestrian

Ohnonevermind · 20/07/2022 19:35

I’m afraid the only cuckooland is the one being invented by the Sussex’s for their documentary; will they photoshop an audience for the UN speech, show fake prize giving at the polo

tney will have to slap on a ‘some scenes are fictionalised’ 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Serenster · 20/07/2022 19:36

H&M said no engagement with Fail

Yes, I know they said that, but guess what…! They also said they would only deal with grass roots and up and coming news organisation going forward - and then they use Vogue and Harpo and Amazon to get their messages out.

The rules for a public charitable foundations in the US, even in Delaware, require that they raise a certain amount of their income each year from public donations.

Gotta say, nota, your lack of trust is a bit insulting but here you go because I do like you.
Note the date 22.5.22. Final took place on 27.5.22.

38DegreesAndRising · 20/07/2022 19:39

Surely that would be acting rather than a documentary, were it to be true!?!

MarshaMelrose · 20/07/2022 19:40

Just thought, @notanotheroneagain , you probably don't trust the date of the final so here are the results ftom the Liske Nixon Nemorial own website. Scroll down for the results.

Reality show, part scripted. 😉

38DegreesAndRising · 20/07/2022 19:46

Any minute now someone will be along to say Prince Andrew also faked a prize giving ceremony so we are NOT ALLOWED to discuss this

38DegreesAndRising · 20/07/2022 19:47

Though I don’t quite believe anyone could be stupid enough to try and pull this stunt and expect to get away with it, surely

Surely that would be acting rather than a documentary, were it to be true!?!

A lot of stuff is staged or recreated for documentaries too.

When I worked in TV news I remember my Mum being shocked that those set up shots where you see someone answering a phone in their office, or talking to a colleague were not real moments that we'd happened to catch on camera but were directed shots so that we had something to put the report over.

She was like "So there's no one actually on the other end of the phone?"

I think she lost all trust in TV news at that point!

To be fair, I guess they thought it just made sense to film if the cameras were there rather than incurring the cost of time and money to bring them back in case they won the following week. They'd just have never shown the film if they hadn't won.

But it's a bit like Desperate Housewives. Things filmed and shown out of sequence. But ultimately it is a film of how they live their life, so it is a form of reality tv really.

38DegreesAndRising · 20/07/2022 20:15

Did they film an alternative ending in case they lost? God this is ridiculous - what a way to have to live. $100mm is the compensation I guess but still, what an awful and inauthentic existence. It’s like they’ve made their lives into the Truman Show by their own volition.
That is of course, if all this is true. Which @nota says it isn’t and I’m sure will bring forth evidence accordingly.

notanotheroneagain · 20/07/2022 20:21

Harry played back to back tournaments - I believe the entire 12 goal season. They won some, they lost some. They were pretty much back to back.

I am not sure which pictures you are confusing.

What are you saying exactly ? The article clearly states that they won the match on the 22nd, and shows the pictures that go with it. MM attended some, but not all. They lost when she was wearing denim for example, and there is no picture of her pretending to award a trophy then.

They won the match on the 22nd yes, But that was not the final. Here’s the tournament format, from the website:

Teams play across the bracket: each team will play two games.

Teams will be ranked after bracket play 1-8 on record …Top four teams after bracket play, and after any tiebreaker shootouts if needed, advance to the Lisle Nixon Memorial semifinals. Semifinal winners will advance to the Lisle Nixon Memorial final.

The semi finals were on the 27th of May, and the final on the 30th of May.

Here’s a fuller screenshot of the cropped image you’ve attached above. You will see the word “Final” is above the score in each of the match boxes, it clearly refers to “Final Score”. And I don’t know about you, but I’ve never seen a tournament where people get awarded the trophy you would win in the final when the final hasn’t yet been played.

The article came out on the 23rd with pictures taken on the 22nd of them winning the cup. But the final wasn't played til the 29th. Look at the Lisle Nixon website. They won the quarter final on the 22nd. That's the final score. 😂😂

The final wasnt til the 29th. Scroll down.

Serenster · 20/07/2022 20:36

Oh, and as for why the Metro stated that they had won the trophy - they will have published the press release they received along with the pictures without checking whether it was true or not. In this case, it was fake news. But it got lots of nice photos of loving Meghan and Harry looking good and being successful at a fancy polo event, so what does it matter if it’s not true….

notanotheroneagain · 20/07/2022 20:37

There were 2 matches on that Sunday.

  1. The Lisle Nixon - a proper tournament match. They won their part that day and subsequent match.

  2. A charity match specifically to make donations for support of several local charities, including Foodback Santa Barbara County, Heal the Ocean and CALM4kids.

The second one was a one day thing, so anyone who wins would have been presented on the same day. That happens to be Harry's team. Does not really matter who wins as the proceeds go to the fore chosen charities stated above.

Maybe because your rags were not invited, they did not report it correctly. That's what happens when you eavesdrop 😃
Lol, I say that, but it wouldn't surprise me if the rags confused you on purpose.

For $100m I'd film every ending known to man. Kerching.

notanotheroneagain · 20/07/2022 20:43

Hello magazine is not making any confusions here.

It was a whole s/s of tournaments, they may have just covered them as the teams win etc. most certainly the polo news letters covered concisely.

It may be that the magazines did not want to create a lot of confusion for the every day person, since there were so many back to back matches. They probably thought if you snoop, you will at least do the full homework and differentiated the games (tournaments and charities) etc.
