It's out next week, titled 'Revenge'. I've ordered it already!

This thread isn’t about William or George . It isn’t supposed to be about Harry but given that he and MM are joined at the hip I can understand why he is included .

Roussette · 18/07/2022 21:55

Batting for our team... hilarious! I must have a long hard think at what that means but it escapes me for the moment...

They didn't 'take' titles. They were given them, and a far worse royal who is in total exile from the whole world because of his shit behaviour, hasn't given up his, so why should they?

How in god's name do the Royals keep us afloat? I'd love to know. They take millions of taxpayers money, that doesn't keep us afloat

Yes I do wonder why they are disliked after all this time. He was invited to give a speech on Nelson Mandela day and you hate the fact that not everyone feels like you do.

Funny!

Given Harry is brought up on every single royal thread ever, I'll bring up William and George if I want to!

TreePoser · 18/07/2022 22:00

It doesn't seem to me that there's much that's new in the book.

eg, vanity fair, they went with the tag line of wild about harry and she had wanted them to paint her as a humanitarian but couldn't find proof of her accounts.

Did we not already know this?

Harry's friends found her a total buzzkill (and don't they sound charming Confused not!)
Did we not already know this!?

The palace wanted her to sort things out with her dad, but she didn't do anything, apart from that letter.
WE KNEW THIS.

Apparently Tom Bower spent 2 days with Thomas Markle .
Surely M and H will now sue ?

Spending a couple of days with a key source is perfectly reasonable. Why do you think they should sue over that? HOW could they sue for that?!

George is a child who will follow his father until old enough to make his own decisions. Imo it’s extremely unfair to criticise a young child for something an adult has chosen for him to do.

My criticism is aimed at William. And the way he is obviously deciding his child can go shooting too.

TBF, it’s a book, not a newspaper article so confirming things is as legitimate as breaking fresh stories. There has been so much counterclaim and obfuscation, it’s quite useful to have someone of zBower’s reputation cover the same ground.

Ohnonevermind · 18/07/2022 22:45

I’m disappointed that George - a child has been dragged in to the debate.

I explained above, did you miss it?

notanotheroneagain · 18/07/2022 23:03

William's parenting skills are dragged in the conversation, not George.
George is viewed as the innocent in all this.

The whole thing is turning into a joke so not inappropriate to inject some humour 😀 He is now offering political statements of a particular orientation. Let's see where that takes him.

Arguments concerning whether the royals help or hinder the country are well-discussed so I won't repeat here. My stance is that if it can be guaranteed that upon removal, whatever comes next after the royals will cost less, do more to promote the UK, help more, be less-self-serving and care more about ordinary people, I'll go for the vote. Until that guarantee is in place, what's the point?

InTheShadeOfTheFigTree · 18/07/2022 23:40

MaulPerton · 18/07/2022 21:47

That's because Harry is no longer batting for our team while the others, however little or badly, are. Harry and wife took the titles and disappeared instead of trying to help the UK stay afloat. And you wonder why they are disliked?

I'm laughing at the idea of the royals trying to help the UK stay afloat. Maybe the Queen could sling a few million to her local food bank. Or Charles could pay a poor family's fuel bill for a couple of months...

How can you guarantee all of that?

They siphon off plenty but then we know that already. Instead of being perpetually surprised at how self-serving the RF are, can we not move the conversation on by having that as a starting point?

The British royals are a huge global brand and one of the institutions that keeps the UK going, whatever our personal feelings on the matter.

FlorianImogen · 19/07/2022 06:19

I'm actually beginning to feel sorry for Harry. I think he's in over his head, his look in that clip says I just don't want to be here. Her look is pure controlling!

KatharineofAragon · 19/07/2022 06:39

That's an interesting clip. I think it says it all too. He pulls his hand away and she firmly grabs his arm. He looks like a captive . it's really quite uncomfortable to watch. He looks tired, bored and stressed.

Roussette · 19/07/2022 07:02

I think he looked absolutely delighted to be there because of the connection he had with Mandela having met him with Meghan when Harry was born. And his mother meeting him.

You'll all be calling the FBI next, saying he's being held against his will by his wife! Honestly, some of you have very fertile imaginations, I presume the heat has got to you. Grin

If they grin or smile they're criticised hugely. If they don't, they're unhappy and you're really worried for Harry because he is not grinning. You just want him to be unhappy because evil Meghan has snared him and he's being held against his will 🤣😂🤣

Complete Tosh if I may say!

HeddaGarbled · 19/07/2022 07:08

Wow, that clip 😲

Nishky32 · 19/07/2022 07:14

Funny how he didn’t mention his father also meeting Mandela…..

KatharineofAragon · 19/07/2022 07:21

Charles also made a speech about climate change yesterday.

Help the UK do what exactly?
They are popular and when they were here the RF made lots of money. However clearly they were too popular for HM and W+K who felt overshadowed.

Even if he left why criticise him constantly - he is living his life the way he wants to. He doesn't owe the UK anything.

SmileyFaces12 · 19/07/2022 07:24

The book is currently the number 1 bestseller on Amazon ( and it hasn’t even been released yet) . Apparently Bower spoke to over 1 000 sources and they’re all listed in the appendix.
