I always think how weird the sex must have been. I assume that it didn’t happen very often, perhaps only the twice that conceived the princes, but imagine how awkward and sad and weird it must have been for her. Poor cow.

I think about that too. Apparently he ‘didn’t have much requirement for it’ according to Diana. No wonder she felt so miserable and unloved.

I like him. X

I like him & her. He made a concerted effort to help someone I knew who died young of a terribly rare illness - they & their family were, and are, very grateful.

They are clips from ancient news articles. Do you believe everything you read in the tabloids and the "unauthorized" biography section?

I don't disagree. Anyway, we don't really have much choice. There's little appetite for change, which is probably to the better, for now, so King Charles it is.

SpikeGilesSandwich · 13/05/2022 11:02

I like and respect Charles and Camilla. I don't get the hate, its quite pathetic tbh.

No, I like Prince Charles, his contribution to many conservation issues over the years, his dress code, his sense of humour, his support of members of his own family, young and old and I like Camilla. Camilla has a great voice. I admire her choice to speak for charities against domestic violence and the like. I like that she has an interest in literature and a clear enjoyment in meeting people of all types which seems quite similar to Prince Charles. We have not only had an amazing Queen for 70 years but also a committed Prince of Wales for 50 of those years. And not forgetting an array of hugely generous Queen's cousins and other family too. The Queen has spread wide via her family.

It reads like Prince Charles PR people are on here at the moment

We don't have a choice. The least worst option and all that.

Charles has seven residences/mansions

The vast majority of which don't actually belong to him.

Highgrove is probably the most famous. Bought by his personal wallet the Duchy of Cornwall with the rent he pays magically returned to him in the form of profits.

I prefer to deal with facts about how he has actually behaved. And there are plenty of examples of sometimes shocking behaviour that does not cast him in a good light.

I agree entirely. Those who think he's a harmless old buffer should probably start with the private dinner at Jimmy Savile's gaff, move on to marriage guidance and royal handbooks from said perverted guru (one among several - see Mountbatten and Laurens Van Der Post) via the Duchy's purchase of a house to rent for cautioned sex offender Peter Ball and then advance to Fawcett the fence and the endless rubber sword/revolving door saga.

BreakorMake · 13/05/2022 21:13

Some may "like" him, but it is only an image and a snapshot. How can anyone say they like the person if they don't know them at all, just see the persona displayed for the great unwashed, and the photos/blurb set out by the PR firm?

He and Camilla live apart most of the time anyway, so no wonder she can laugh her socks off and come across as great fun. Image and PR again.

BoredZelda · 14/05/2022 15:48

I like him. He’ll be a decent monarch.

He’s an absolute pain in the arse to have to deal with, but generally he’s alright.

You saved me typing it, Cathy, though there's a lot more you could have added

Strange to think some are perfectly relaxed about having a paedophile supporter as King, but each to their own and all that

orbitalcrisis · 14/05/2022 18:31

I've never met him, I had no idea so many on here had! What did you like about him? Was he nice?
