I like them both.
Met him a few times through work and he’s always very kind and gracious to those around him. Funny too.

I like Charles and Camilla. My favourite is Sophie Duchess of Wessex, think Princess Anne is great too.

Camilla is a great choice for him as they're both dreadful.

He has hands like a bunch of sweaty carrots.

I like him. I've been to Highgrove and thought it was an amazing place. It made me see him in a different light tbh.

I haven't really seen any of the opening of parliament stuff from yesterday but tbh I think people who are getting their knickers in a twist over it all need to focus their attention on the shower of shite in government who are actually contributing to the cost of living crisis, not the people who have no power over it.

@ShirleyPhallus My FiL went to the same school and has absolutely massive hands. Worryingly, I think my daughter's inherited them. She came out with hands like plates of meat and she's really not growing into them. Absolute shovels.

I imagine Camilla would be fun with have a drink with. Charles, I'll pass.

He seems like a charming individual who is very much a product of his circumstances.

I like him. I felt he was choking on the words of the speech. He didn't agree with half of it I don't think.

He can’t help his hands, can he! I think he might have some condition as his hands are very swollen and his face very florid. It seems a tad unfair to criticise someone for their hands!

No strong opinions on his character, but I am very happy that the prime minister will have a mandatory weekly meeting with a king who is just going to pester him about the environment and climate change. Might do something to embed the issue in government policy.

My Dad is 82 and has got rheumatoid arthritis - his hands and face look exactly the same as Prince Charles'. I often think he's got the same condition, and it's horrifically painful if it is.

'He's got massive posh person hands' is more of an observation than a criticism...

people are now seriously questioning the value of the Royal Family.

Only on MN threads. I have literally heard nothing anti-monarchy of note outside of this forum.

I really like him. He's done some good work and stands for some great causes, sadly I think that was lost during the 80s and 90s.

Camilla is 100% the person he needs. Steadfast, dignified, she'll be a great consort. Yes, they had an affair, blah blah blah, but I believe Charles and Diana had a toxic relationship and a marriage that never should have happened.

It is sad to see how several years of effective PR have somehow righted a massive moral wrong. The way in which they both treated Diana was (and still is) unforgivable.
It triggered off a spiral of irrationality and trauma in her which she had not even begum to start resolving at the time of her death. He was significantly older, unquestionably more powerful and (although debatable) considered more wise and intelligent by all of the staff. She was a clueless, idealistic brood mare and he crushed her spirit in the way only a thoroughly rotten and dysfunctional person would do.
Their PR machine is in overdrive because the queen will imminently create a vacancy.

Really cannot get past that he wants to be a tampon, treated Diana like dirt.

I like him. The prince’s trust has done a hell of a lot of good that I’ve seen first hand in my job.

I don’t “like” anyone I have never met or even engaged virtually with

but he certainly comes across as inoffensive and pleasant enough

I do agree that Camilla is absolutely right for him but I really think that they should FO to an expansive smallholding somewhere and let K & W take over directly.

I don't believe Diana was as faultless as we are always led to believe. I also don't think she was clueless. She willingly married someone who she had only met 13 times before.
