I’m not a big fan but it seems odd all the terrible pictures focusIng on Harry’s
1/ bald patch
2/ butt
and now horror of all horrors
3/ moobs !
im sure we all can have ghastly photos but nothing like this was released when he was in the royal family
Im actually feeling a bit sorry for him - seems a bit humiliating and I think they are a bit unnecessary ?

I think many people are pleased that HM , who is clearly frail, is going to see her great grandchildren however the timing has raised eyebrows. By visiting HM en route to
Invictus they showed that a private visit is possible so why not do something similar with the DC ? By announcing that they are visiting ( why??) they are inviting comment . From what I have read , many people think they are trying to muscle in for their own ends .
i am still not convinced they will come . They are not included in official events , senior royals will be out and about across the U.K. so what are they going to do ? According to reports Netflix is not welcome anywhere near royal property so material will be difficult to obtain .
I wouldn’t be surprised if they announce a change of plans due to security concerns .
I have no way of knowing but that’s my view.

MaulPerton · 10/05/2022 22:01

They tried hard to bring down Harry's family, failed and are now trying to associate with them again (for their own financial benefit)

Correct. They've got themselves in a bit of a pickle. They'll lose face whatever happens, which means that their projects may become increasingly bizarre.

Because they were invited to the platinum jubilee? It's as simple as that. Can you even begin to imagine if they decided to come over say the week before, instead of during the jubilee... the criticism on here would be off the scale because whatever they do is always always wrong. If they didn't say they were coming, that would be wrong too.

If people are pleased that HM is going to see her GGC, why can't it be left at that, instead of endless on and on criticism. I just don't get it. I presume it's just habit for some people because that validates my point that whatever they do is always wrong.

Nishkin

Sussex Squad started as a twitter hashtag-used by supporters of the Sussexes

Ah, so that's where it came from.
I don't use Twitter so hadn't realised that.

@Roussette

Because they were invited to the platinum jubilee?

Unless I have missed it I don’t think it has been confirmed that they were actually invited . Their statement said they would be attending . Maybe it’s semantics but it isn’t clear to me.

It's all so weird.

So we have...

  1. It's so disgusting that M&H haven't been over to see the Queen or the family, haven't brought the children over to see HMQ. They don't care. That's been said endlessly on threads.

  2. H&M are coming over to see the Queen and the wider family, bringing the children over. How dare they. They're just cashing in to make money.

Which is it? What the heck is it you want?

I think if they had brought their children over quietly without fanfare, or PR announcements when they had nothing to gain, they would have earned some respect. Instead it’s a ‘will they won’t they’ game, wirh Harry giving an interview saying he still hadn’t made his mind up. They are coming to publicise themselves because their star is waning, not because they care about the family.

Snog · 10/05/2022 23:08

Wow Prince Harry really has said and done some shockingly racist things on camera.

That's an awful thing to say.

So, according to you, they don't care about anyone in the family,, not the Queen, no one, it's just money. That's your view, and it's an unpleasant one. You don't know that,

You say if they'd come quietly, they'd have gained some respect. Rubbish. Not on these threads. How come then, they came quietly without anyone knowing, before Invictus, and there was endless criticism on here??

It wasn't for long enough, they didn't see the right people, they only did it because they had to, why didn't they bring the DCs, blah blah. As I have said before, they can't do anything right, they tried slipping in quietly for a visit and it was slated on here.so that didn't work, did it?

PineMartenPeanutbutter · 10/05/2022 23:47

They stayed five minutes. Harry had to be forced to see his father by the Queen and arrived late. It was a flying visit en route elsewhere without the children. It was a duty visit and Harry announced he would be visiting the Queen ‘as soon as possible’ because he missed his grandfather’s funeral.

StartupRepair · 11/05/2022 00:14

The Sussex Squad are quite an extreme set. They have openly speculated about how a tragedy for the Cambridges could put Harry on the throne. They just had big celebrations for Archie's birthday.

Wow really? How unpleasant. Reminiscent of those cumberbatch obsessives who had it in for his new wife. Some people need psychiatric interventions.

Please provide a source that says they stayed five minutes that isn't the DM. They were overnight in Frogmore so I doubt very much they popped in for 'five minutes'. Was the meeting with Charles within the five minutes also?!

There's nothing wrong with a flying visit when your every move is dissected and criticised, well done them for flying under the radar and managing it without anyone knowing.

No one knows how that meeting went do they? Not even you! Nor me!

Sortilege · 11/05/2022 07:40

Oh god. We’re not going to start all the “provide a source” schnizzle are we?

Sortilege · 11/05/2022 07:40

Only when someone says something on here that is blatantly untrue. They fly to London and stay overnight there, but only go and see HMQ for five minutes?? That's just making stuff up to fit a narrative.

Sorry it's schnizzle, but love that word, can I borrow it please?! Grin

Sortilege · 11/05/2022 07:55

It’s just a bit peremptory. A bit “Royal fans are all crazily over-invested. Discuss.” Isn’t there a more conversational way to say it? It makes me think everybody about to start fighting again. It’s nerve wracking on royal threads when you’re not on either team. 😂

Absolutely help yourself to schnizzle. 🙂

zlister · 11/05/2022 08:02

Why is wondering about something so banal as Prince Harry 'racist' or is the use of that word meant to close down any discussion, as usual? It may be construed as 'gingerist' or 'baldyist' but certainly not racist!

He's hated for marrying Meghan and ruining your royal family. There's hundreds of celebs I don't care for, but the mental energy people put into this. There must be an alter ikr motive because no way are people this invested in every person they dislike. Go hate on Andrew- he's caused more shame than this lot

I do not follow either of them, but one thing I do know is they are a stunning couple. Meghan especially- and people hate it. She's gorgeous. Some people find it hard to cope with.

Sortilege · 11/05/2022 08:14

Are you American @zlister ? I don’t think the UK and the rest of the world are ever going to resolve this gulf of misunderstanding that to us this telenovela family are constitutionally significant and to everyone else they’re just celebrities.

Funnily enough I saw a clip of MM yesterday at the “Fab Four” junket thing for the royal foundation and the sound was off and it was the first time I’ve seen her moving and not been listening to her, I think. It really jumped out how exceptionally good looking she is. I mean, I knew she was, but - unusually for a royal wife - she’s always been filmed saying something articulate and interesting. So she shouldn’t have fallen into the whole “silent film star” trap that the others did, but somehow it’s all blown up into a massive mess anyway. It’s a waste.

PeekAtYou · 11/05/2022 08:44

If that were the case, there wouldn't have been crowds lining the streets to celebrate their wedding. There will always be a small extremist minority who have racist beliefs but racism is not the reason why he gets negative press now.

PeekAtYou · 11/05/2022 08:49

@Rousette
HM forced Harry to speak to Charles first. She spent 5 minutes talking business with Harry then had a cup of tea with Harry and Meghan afterwards. I assumed this cuppa was when he made her laugh as referenced by him in his interview.

Harry arrived late to his meeting with Charles who had to go to a church service that day which is why all the reports mention the time aspect. It's believed he spent 15 minutes or so with his Dad being prepped for his meeting with HM.

I agree . The vast majority of people were delighted that H had finally found a wife . I thought she was very attractive and very articulate and a good addition to the RF . At first I didn’t realise she was mixed race and that didn’t matter anyway.
It was the Africa interview that changed my mind. Since then both of their behaviour has been appalling on many occasions .

Roussette · 11/05/2022 09:02

@PeekAtYou Ahh... so it wasn't just a 5 minute meeting with the Queen then. I thought not.

PeekAtYou · 11/05/2022 09:08

I don't know how long it takes for the Queen to drink a cup of tea but even with small dainty cups, I suspect that it was longer than 5 minutes.

MaulPerton · 11/05/2022 09:23

This is not the reason why people dislike him. Harry broke the golden rule of a successful monarchy when he went public with his entitled demands. Of course, they are all an entitled, demanding bunch. However, with the help of good PR and collusion with the press, the royals' more extravagant demands for their entitlements are kept out of the papers. It really is that simple. Harry would have probably kept up the public's liking for him if he had kept it private and dignified.

Actually, Meghan has turned out to be a bit of a non-starter. For all the noise and hoo-ha at the beginning, she just hasn't delivered, so interest in her is fading rapidly. Harry is the only one in that pairing who people still have some interest in.
