Prince Harry not attending Philips memorial

It has been confirmed that Prince Harry will not be attending P Philips memorial service. What are people’s thoughts about this? Is the whole security issue a smoke screen for the fact he can’t face his family?

Nah, they're presenting an Oscar together on 29th (allegedly)

Gilmorehill · 19/03/2022 14:14

I do hate it when people say things like ‘I bet it won’t last’. I wouldn’t wish unhappiness on someone, particularly when children are involved.

smilesy · 19/03/2022 15:33

The Oscars are on the 27th, so in theory they could still attend the memorial on the 29th.

I wonder if there was a pre nup? Sorry I couldn't help myself, and I think it's a valid question, as no one can see into the future.... ahem.

DesertStorms · 19/03/2022 18:50

I doubt it very much.

SoyMarina · 20/03/2022 11:43

I doubt it's true now but reckon they will split up within the next 2 or 3 years.
I bet Meghan is getting bored and irritated by Harry and then he is homesick and regrets having left and all the drama that they created.

Lurking9to5 · 20/03/2022 12:52

I dont know, i think they enable each others blindspots. There is longevity in that.

SueSaid · 20/03/2022 13:38

'Is the whole security issue a smoke screen for the fact he can’t face his family?'

Yes.

I go from feeling sorry for him to being irritated by him.

Love the way he gets in 'but will see the Queen asap' just for his US audience/sponsors so they remember he's still in with HMTQ.

Skiptheheartsandflowers · 20/03/2022 14:32

I don't see how he is going to make good on that plan to see the Queen as soon as possible. It presumably rests on the decision about the judicial review over his security going his way, and I'm sceptical it will. In which case he'll be unable to enter the country without undermining his own argument about how risky it is for him to do so.

SueSaid · 20/03/2022 15:51

'I don't see how he is going to make good on that plan to see the Queen as soon as possible'

Maybe he'll do it secretly with only a Netflix film crew in attendance. Aiming to get all the Royal snaps and footage in ($$) without any of the 'high risk', boring public events.

I think there’s the sunk cost fallacy too… they gave up so much for each other and made joint enemies of everyone else

I am definitely no fan of H&M and their antics, but the National Enquirer is a crazy publication!
Multiple sightings of Elvis, Jim Morrison and aliens - not all together I shouldn't think Grin
I think sometimes publications like that see being sued as collateral damage against the huge sales they generate.

Maybe she can meet up with him at a rodeo in Texas Wink

Yep, and Jennifer Aniston had been pregnant approximately 242 times according to the NE.

I beg to differ . H looks to have a permanent scowl on his face these days .

Viviennemary · 20/03/2022 23:46

I would say he is pretty miserable with his choice to be cut off from his familly and all his royal perks.

Roussette · 21/03/2022 07:12

I beg to differ too. We must be looking at him through different eyes. He looks relaxed and happy and enjoying life to me.

And saying he is pretty miserable cut off from his family, without knowing who he is in contact with (Eugenie and Jack staying with them for instance), is just what you want him to be like. Miserable. When that's not fact.
Leaving was the best thing he ever did. Good on them.

BadgerB · 21/03/2022 08:12

"Leaving was the best thing he ever did."

Let's hope they stay away then. But if their money runs out, and Charles is in charge they may seek a rapprochement.

gogohm · 21/03/2022 08:19

As he's so worried about security, it would be somewhat strange if their movements were announced in advance. There's multiple daily commercial flights plus the ever so "green" private jet option, if they fly commercial the first confirmation will be them boarding in la when someone will manage to get it onto Twitter no doubt, if it's a private or military flight then they could slip in unannounced. There's regular RAF flights to and from California so easily sorted

notanotheroneagain · 21/03/2022 08:38

Harry and Meghan look very happy.
That they are divorcing is just wishful thinking. They are also unlikely to run out of money anytime soon.

I think they can come and go secretly, only if they are not visiting anyone from the palace, because the palace source will run to inform the tabloids so fast. It's problematic to come for public events because they will be expected.

SueSaid · 21/03/2022 08:43

'Let's hope they stay away then'
Yes great if he stays away and keep telling everyone he is living his best life, just those massive chips on his shoulder would suggest he isn't.

That's without his next reveal in his no doubt trashy book. I mean we can only hope he finally admits he has been gaslighting his family for the last 3 years and now realises the problem was him not them, sadly I doubt it. But he is bffs with the Queen you know!! just to reassure Spotify and Netflix..

tigger2022 · 21/03/2022 09:56

Their actions (suing everybody, desperately seeking enemies, responding to everything through lawyers, scowling in every photograph, isolating themselves, nurturing persecution complexes, oversharing, violating friends' and family's right to privacy) are not the actions of people who are in a happy and healthy relationship
