Prince Harry not attending Philips memorial

It has been confirmed that Prince Harry will not be attending P Philips memorial service. What are people’s thoughts about this? Is the whole security issue a smoke screen for the fact he can’t face his family?

You can tell when Harry is not talking with the British press that he can be relaxed, and just be his cheesy, goofy self .
Did not stop the Fail from criticising him instead of promoting charitable Invictus as they should - seriously, what use is this rag for?

His security detail was removed. In other countries you are allowed paid security (with weapons). We don’t allow that here for obvious reasons. He asked to be allowed to pay for the met to protect him. That was refused.

I think anyone should be able to see that he is a very high risk target, as are his children. He is at risk of kidnap, public torture online… as are his kids. It’s pretty serious stuff.

Do you think he should be asked to risk his life to visit his family? It seems very harsh.

they've both massively burned their bridges. Even if some of what MM said on Oprah was true (and frankly I don't believe any of it) you just don't go out publically to trash your family like that. It's a bridge burning exercise. Looking at how MM operates, I'd be shocked if theirs was a long union and who will H have then? It's an irony that M and H will have to use their association with the Royal Family they've left and have criticised so publically to continue to feather their nest indefinitely.

Beatrice/Eugenie had their security removed when they were 6th and 7th in line to the throne.

Harry gets police protection when he visits on official business like PP's funeral and would get it for events like the Jubilee because he'd be on business. That is a reasonable compromise imo and police protection shouldn't be used so that he can earn money while in the UK or for social reasons.

Eugenie managed to travel to the US incognito (we only saw her when she popped up for the Super Bowl) and the Cambridges managed a trip to France without people knowing until afterwards so it's hard to believe that Harry couldn't make private trips too.

I wouldn't blame Meghan for never setting foot in the Uk again but I think the security issue isn't why he declined the invitation - they would be savaged in the media and if you've left the RF why wouldn't you take advantage of the fact that invitations aren't summons any more?

They refusing to say he'll always get it. That are not saying that if he is at risk (decided by RAVEC, same way as for everyone else) he won't be protected. Simply that it will vary, depending on need.

If he's not happy with that, then yes of course he should stay away.

From what I can see, it's quite apparent that there is someone who represents the RF in Ravec and they have some motives and agendas on refusing Harry' security. But once again, he is protecting their identity as he has requested that the file and name of that member not be publicised. The judges will of course see it, but it will remain confidential.

That's because you can't cope with the idea that he is. Not after he betrayed and left you. Just like any other jilted lover, you see what you want to see to convince yourself he's miserable and getting what he deserves.

The hell are you talking about. Ravec is made up of the Home Office, Police (SY) and Royal household. There is a representative from each.

I think they said it was the journey being difficult for the Queen. I can understand it, I'm younger than she is but covid has left me aching in every joint and very tired. It isn't surprising that someone of her age doesn't bounce straight back from an illness.

For her sake I hope Harry has done or will do a secret visit to see her. I have a GS I'm very close to and I understand how she must feel. For all we know he has visited her more than once. Particularly when he goes to the Invictus Games, can't remember where but it is in europe so he could do a stop over in London and see her.

No, it's not just royals.

I don't see why other members would not take into advisement what the RF representative says though. If anything it makes sense that RF member would hold the most gravitas in decisions about the RF side of things.

Go read what I attached again, it sounds like Harry is saying he has evidence or testimony to prove that person had an agenda against him and that what he represents will show this and why.
