For those that are interested - I know I am.

Does anyone know when the appeal judgement will be made.

Genuinely believe Meghan could curl one out in the middle of an orphanage screaming "Death to the Monarchy" and people would make massive leaps to defend her behaviour 😂 it's hysterical.
Even more so if your poster name starts with an ‘r’ 😃
StormzyinaTCup · 14/11/2021 20:12

How on earth is it protecting her, when the US is confirming she is in Canada.

Well, maybe the palace don't read US media, why would they?

MM probably told them she needed a private break away from the glare of the media and this was accommodated (with appropriate security detail arranged) so when asked about her whereabouts what would you expect the Palace to say?

Aspiringmatriarch · 14/11/2021 20:12

And I genuinely find the vast array of criticisms of her baffling. I'm sure she's not perfect, but the need to characterise almost everything she does as in some way manipulative/ inappropriate/ attention seeking/ delete as appropriate, is very wearing and seems entirely disproportionate to her supposed wrongdoing. 🤷‍♀️

Genuinely believe Meghan could find a cure cancer and people would make massive leaps to criticise her behaviour 😂 it's hysterical.
Meghan's not smart enough to find a cure, she can't even remember sending e-mails to certain people it would appear....

@Gwrach

For the general lay person who isn't hell bent on doing mental gymnastics to defend some narcissistic woman the statement

"We had no involvement with the book" means just that.

No, NADA, ziltch.

Not a email thread and then needing to apologise to a court of law for "misleading them"

The woman told a fib, she's a big fibber in a giant red froc. Just live with it 🤷🏻‍♀️

I can't live with froc spelled like that Grin.

The queen makes the whole country celebrate her birthday twice.

My family has missed this memo as have the rest of my Co-workers, neighbours and friends.

Her family attends Trooping The Colour and probably a private celebration on her birthday. Very common for people to have a party on a different day to their birthday. If she was asked to make a legal statement about when her birthday was there's nothing to suggest that she would say both days.

Meghan and Harry are obviously protected by their titles, position and wealth. There is no chance of them being in any trouble however much some people would love to see a perjury charge. ( I have read the threads about why a perjury charge is extremely unlikely even if the people in court weren't royal) Even if the judge orders a trial I do not think we will see one. The RF don't want royals on the stand and the Sussexes will not want to give ANL a chance to
ask them questions that will end up as newspaper fodder.

@rubicscubicle

The queen makes the whole country celebrate her birthday twice. It does not matter if it's historical, history gets corrected, that is why we no longer have slavery.

And you fully understand my point, even if you will act obtuse.

If you are going to be understanding and lenient about other people and see the context, you should do the same with MM. You cannot fling names at her that you would not dream of flinging at others. She is not some kind of sub human.

This is one of the most ridiculous posts I’ve ever seen to try and justify Meghan’s behaviour. The Queen is not misleading anyone by having two birthdays. Nobody on the whole of this earth will feel mislead by this, because every single human being knows you are only born once!

However even if you had a solid example, I’m not sure what point you are trying to make. Even if the Queen has lied/mislead people (no doubt she has at times although we might never see the proof) are you suggesting that means it ok Meghan has too? Or we can only criticise Meghan if we criticise someone else, preferably another royal, at the same time?

Roussette · 14/11/2021 20:19

I've said it for years on these threads.... Meghan could do something nice, kind, worthy or thoughtful... and certain posters will find a way of criticising her for it.
It's been like this for years now.

Peaseblossum22 · 14/11/2021 20:21

Meghan can openly lie and mislead in a court case and certain people defend it, hilarious.
Whilst I take your point it’s not hilarious it’s actually very serious. I don’t have any particular interest in her clothes, where she goes or what she does, but lying to the courts goes to the heart of our legal system, other people would be upbraided for this and so should she

She did some lovely work for Grenfell Tower. She has some brilliant humanitarian issues that she speaks about such as paid maternity in the US.

But she also fibbed to a court.

People can be both good and bad.

Roussette · 14/11/2021 20:23

Yes, everyone can be good and bad. No one's perfect.

smilesy · 14/11/2021 20:23

You are probably correct, Roussette. Some people will criticise her no matter what, which is a shame and unfair when she genuinely achieves something positive. However, some posters will continue to ignore the fact that she has misled a court of law in this instance.

Agree, can’t believe some of the speculation about M’s motives for going to Canada. Silence the ex, for IVF( not that there is anything wrong with IVF). Kudos to her for appearing to be so strong because 😳
Roussette · 14/11/2021 20:24

I think more will come out. I am not sure it is totally cut and dried.

Roussette · 14/11/2021 20:26

To be honest @Zuluqueen.... I don't give a fuck about the fact she went to Canada! Maybe I'm missing the point, but what the hell does it matter?!

You're right but I've never seen universal praise of any royal for what they wear, said or did
Zuluqueen · 14/11/2021 20:29

I think she was stupid for misleading the court because surely she must have known it’s wrong and that eventually it would come out. It may have not been now, but the truth has a way of coming out. The truth about silly cruel tiara story that made so many people on Mumsnet , tabloids and elsewhere abuse her has come out. I hope everything that happened when she was a working royal comes out in the open( good & bad). Then maybe just maybe everyone will be satisfied.

Peaseblossum22 · 14/11/2021 20:29

The posters who blindly defend her every action and tie themselves in knots trying to defend the indefensible are doing both themselves and her no favours. I would be much more likely to listen to them if they acknowledged that she has done wrong and should face the consequences. Nobody is perfect or all bad but everyone should be equal before the law.

smilesy · 14/11/2021 20:29

Most posters don’t care that she went to Canada per se, people are pointing out that the palace put up a smokescreen to try to protect her privacy while she was there. But what about her admitting to misleading the court?

Zuluqueen · 14/11/2021 20:29

rubicscubicle · 14/11/2021 20:30
@rubicscubicle I meant are you serious in comparing Meghan saying she was married 3 days before the wedding and the Queen having two birthdays.
It is clear what I am saying and I think you know it.

If I were to remove the queen's name and say, my nan has two birthdays, I would get two answers.

 1. Get out of here, that is not even technically possible, you and your nan are liars.
 2. What do you mean? Is she celebrating one as the actual day she was born and the second as one that has some kind of significance, since you technically cannot be born twice?

With MM, most people on here have gone with answer 1.

Aspiringmatriarch · 14/11/2021 20:30

Agree, can’t believe some of the speculation about M’s motives for going to Canada.

Ditto and it shows why they've fought hard for their privacy (and before anyone starts, no that doesn't mean going off to live as hermits).

Roussette · 14/11/2021 20:31

Yes Banana but I have never seen probably upwards of literally hundreds of threads on one particular member of the RF either. Apart from Meghan that is.

Roussette · 14/11/2021 20:34

But what about her admitting to misleading the court?

You keep asking the same question again and again Smilesy. I think there is more to come out. She should not have fibbed to the court but I would like to know more.
