Royal party on 19th October

There's to be a party on 19th October to thank celebs who donated to the Diana statue. Elton John will be there. It was reported a few days ago H&M would probably/might come. Now apparently they're not coming. Which is better because all the focus would be on them and who snubbed who. But as its only going be an hour long and probably not televised what woul be the point of coming all that way. I also read the other day that they may lead their own jubilee celebrations next year in the USA. Shock

Do the lesser born babies get all the extras such as water from the river Jordan. For folk supposedly committed to equality H&M certainly are rather fond of their priviledges.

I have read that a spokesperson for the Sussexes has confirmed that they will not be having Lilibet christened in the UK.

Zuluqueen · 12/10/2021 18:42

I hope they don’t christen her here. The abuse Meghan will get alone should be enough to keep her at bay. I don’t get the UK tabloid fuss about HaM’s daughter’s christening. I suppose some people really miss seeing their ‘punching bag’ M in UK so they could accuse her of all sorts. There are other royal babies who were born this year whose parents don’t seem to rile some people up, so it’s amusing to me that Lilli is the focus. The christening excitement should be for the christening of royal babies who are already here. I’m sure these ceremonies would make royalists proud 😃

Viviennemary · 12/10/2021 18:47

They wanted a royal christening and were told no. Hardly surprising.

Vivienne, what's a lesser born baby? I think if Joe Soap's vicar went on holiday or on a holy pilgrimage, to Israel, and got a bottle of Jordan water, Joe Soap of Anyoldwhere could be baptised with a bit of Jordan water but that might not be so now. The Israelis might sell bottles of distilled Jordan water.

Zuluqueen · 12/10/2021 18:56

@Viviennemary where is the proof that they wanted a royal christening & were told no?. Is it from palace sources & Royal reporters?.

I was christened with water from the River Jordan. Don't think I've got any royal connections! Grin
Roussette · 12/10/2021 19:07

As I said, the story they wanted a christening here was I think a DM clickbait story, and it's worked!
The outrage us something to behold!

If I were Meghan I wouldn't be coming back here in a hurry the way she's been treated.
Well done them for avoiding the vitriol and vile press

BalloonSlayer · 12/10/2021 19:09

When I was in Israel and went to the river Jordan there were guys selling little bottles and you could collect your own Jordan water.* I have still got it in the loft somewhere probably brewing goodness knows what bacteria after 25 years.

 • did you know that an old slang word for potty was Jordan. So to some older people "Jordan water" would have a different connotation. Grin

I meant the other three babies born into the royal family. That's interesting Feel. Harry was supposed to have made it clear he wanted the royal christening with the Queen present and all the trimmings. Reported in the main press. It's not happened yet. Now reported William put his foot down apparently. Recollections may have varied. I suppose.

That sounds unlikely. I mean, he must know that HMQ hasn't attended all her great grandchildren' christenings - not even all the Cambridges

Washeduponthebeach · 12/10/2021 19:52

I think it's all made up by the DM personally.

Roussette · 12/10/2021 20:12

The DM, the Sun and the Express. Yes, got it. Hmm

PreparationPreparationPrep · 12/10/2021 21:11

@Viviennemary any little dig you can find. Don't you get tired? It should be a win win for you whoever reported first it's irrelevant. A PP has now found out they are not coming so your question has been answered. Oh no I forgot that was sorted so there is a now a random comment about the holy water I am pleased to hear they are not coming - who would bring their baby daughter into this.

Recollections may vary, or maybe made up nonsense in various newspapers may vary.

I just read H&M might be spending Christmas with Eugenie. I don't really believe this. But in the Express. We just have to be selective in what we believe. I think Harry would have liked a royal christening for Lilibet. But he didnt actually tell me that personally.

OP posts:
Roussette · 12/10/2021 21:56

Exactly.

You think Harry thinks something

PreparationPreparationPrep · 12/10/2021 22:39

🤣🤣 I would never have guessed- Do you think there is someone sitting at a keyboard writing random shit for the tabloids on H&M movements just to see which story will get carried away.
@Viviennemary where is the proof that they wanted a royal christening & were told no?. Is it from palace sources & Royal reporters?.
It was in an American magazine along with the story that PH and MM had a big argument over the Christening and it all got recorded accidentally by the mikes they were carrying around for the programme they're making.

Roussette · 12/10/2021 22:47

Poor old Daily mail. They're beyond desperate for H&M to come back to UK so they can pick holes in every single little thing this couple do!
Maybe they'll beat their record of 26 articles on them in one day
Yes, this is true, it did happen

Oh, how they miss them as cannon fodder.

If H&M have any sense, they'll stay away.

PreparationPreparationPrep · 12/10/2021 23:06

It was in an American magazine
then it must be true. does this magazine have a name or links to the recording? I'm surprised the DM or even MN haven't swooped for that one.

Keyring · 12/10/2021 23:06

It's all unravelling for H&M I think. They've overplayed their hand.

BeckyWithTheAverageHair · 12/10/2021 23:07

That sounds like bullshit of the highest order. Those American tabloids regularly run stories about how Kate is pregnant with twins and Camilla is going to dump Charles. The only difference is that no sane person believes anything they write!

PreparationPreparationPrep · 12/10/2021 23:09

In what way @Keyring ? What is unraveling?
Keyring · 12/10/2021 23:26

their plans for world domination....

I jest.
