I like the idea and I like the video. (Not that keen on the big desk) And I though MM looked...alive!

Not sure who the other woman was. But there was good chemistry.

I'm sure I'll be told I'm wrong though Grin

@Greenlittle

I liked the laptop on top of books. I’ve done that for zoom calls!

I wonder if the exchange was impromptu or whether they had rehearsed it?

Are you being serious. There was absolutely nothing impromptu about any of it.
Mummy194 · 07/08/2021 14:11

The RF has been talking to us for years through 'royal sources', so they do answer, and it's mostly lies about H&M. No one is fooled.

The DM's flimsy thin lies and unsubstantiated was such a load of bollocks, no one paid it attention except racists and bigots.

Harry did not show 'concern' about the colour of his own child, stop being ridiculous.

Roussette · 07/08/2021 14:11

And the RF exempting themselves from racial, ethnic and sexual equality laws.

Yet another law the rest of the country has to abide by. But the RF don't.

Even RF spokespeople say 'we must do better'. To do better they should lose equality law exemption and be in line with the rest of society. But will they? No. Doubtful.

CauliflowerCheese30 · 07/08/2021 14:14

I'm not being ridiculous at all Mummy, for all we know he could have started the conversations about any babies he has with Meghan and what they would look like, none of us know.

If he’s inherited his fathers intelligence even walking and chewing at the same time might be tough

I think that's very unwarranted.
There has been years of insults calling Harry every name under the sun and insulting his intelligence.
It's crass and to be honest it wouldn't be allowed on MN if it were anyone else. Pathetic.

It hits a nerve with me for reasons I won't go into.

Marmaladeagain · 07/08/2021 14:17

Mummy: M used the word "concern" not Harry. So you're correct, Harry didn't express "concern" at all.

Neither of them had got their story straight on that particular accusation. Harry said about potential children before he got married and M said about Archie whilst pregnant. Conflicting stories, or "gossip" as it's more commonly known when not willing to back a story up with a single fact or named person.

StormzyinaTCup · 07/08/2021 14:17

It would be funny. Their embarrassing hypocrisy would be there in glorious technicolour for all to see, as always. CBS journos would get front row seats.

I too would find it more than slightly amusing if they popped up on the balcony and I’d be equally amused to see how Sunshine Sachs would spin such a massive dollop of hypocrisy.

Greenlittle · 07/08/2021 14:18

I agree @Cacacoisfarraige. I’d love for us to become a Republic and have say, Marcus Rashford, as an apolitical Head of State

And JK Rowling and sooo many ordinary people who understand the daily struggles of life, rise above them and be examples for our children to succeed .

I hope Harry’s kids work hard and do good and hopefully keep ties to UK

But Marcus Rashford can't be an apolitical head of state - unless he's willing to give up his right to reply and not to comment on political events of the day.

Zuluqueen · 07/08/2021 14:21

@CauliflowerCheese30

For all we know, it could have been Harry that started off the conversation about any babies skin colour.
There is a difference between parents wondering who their baby would look like & other people having concern about what their skin tone would be like.

Most stories don't sound the same from different people, that is quite normal. Even the police are suspicious when witnesses come out with identical statements.

No doubt they both heard different things at different times.

I don't think the Sussex's have done or said anything wrong by giving their side of things.

It is the media who have twisted and exaggerated a lot of of stuff about them but - don't they always? I could almost see it coming as we've had it before; one minute people are feted as if they are the greatest thing since sliced bread, the next they are beyond the pale.

My hope is that they will come back here for extended periods of time.

Zuluqueen · 07/08/2021 14:23

Why do people keep defending that someone may actually have been racist . Why can’t we believe someone like Meghan who knows what racism is? Surely she knows the difference.

Ah, he can do better than the Queen and Charles and any gentle nudging will be for the good of ordinary people, not to line the royal coffers

Oh H would be being brave of course, putting his own many triggers to one side for the sake of granny's special day, how adorable and authentic.

Exactly.

She will understand it better than any of us white people. Harry will have grown to understand it better too.

@Greenlittle

Gosh, quite a few nasty posts! Bigots and racists reveal themselves, eh?
Agree this often happens with MH posts - they try and restrain themselves for the first half of the thread then they can't hold it any longer and true colours come out. The usual suspects as well - I can sense the tension and frothing at the mouth from here.
PreparationPreparationPrep · 07/08/2021 15:56

This ! There is a difference between parents wondering who their baby would look like & other people having concern about what their skin tone would be like.

There is a clear difference which is muddled deliberately I suspect - people of colour or mixed relationships having a discussion together about their child's skin colour is not the same as a white person having opinions about somebody else's child's skin colour. Because it sits within the context of a relationship and alongside other discussions and familiarity. We all know it's not about the olive skin/ white skin - it's about brown african heritage / white skin and there is a significant difference in the way it is discussed or accepted but hey ho let's pretend it's all the same. I'm sure M&H did discuss this about their child - I'm less certain they would discuss this about somebody else's child. As far as I'm concerned - that doesn't mean it's of for anyone in the RF to voice their opinion.
You want M&H to say who it was NOT because you want to know who the racist is - but because you want to know who to defend and make excuses for or even deny on their behalf. It's interesting that most of the people who don't believe them or are
Calling for them to name the person are the ones who come out with the nasty and often racist comments.

Roussette · 07/08/2021 16:04

Of course Meghan and Harry couldn't name the person concerned! I was gobsmacked when, after the interview, posters were demanding they must name and shame.
It's bad enough it happened without sticking the knife in.

And yes, I know the defence will be... but that labels them all. No, it doesn't. The person concerned knows who they are, as does M&H. I think it is quite right that we never know but perhaps removing the RF's exemption on race and equality laws would be a start?

AnnunciataZ · 07/08/2021 16:09

You want M&H to say who it was NOT because you want to know who the racist is - but because you want to know who to defend and make excuses for or even deny on their behalf.

Touché @PreparationPreparationPrep that's pretty much exactly what will happen. PoC know racism when they see it but as always, some people on MN think it's worse to be called racist than to be at the receiving end of racism.
