I like the idea and I like the video. (Not that keen on the big desk) And I though MM looked...alive!

Not sure who the other woman was. But there was good chemistry.

@Gilmorehill

I don’t want to see them on the balcony next year.
Me neither although I think they do still have a lot of supporters even if they wouldn't openly say it. But it is evident they are miserable and anxious when they are here. Imagine the extra 💰 money 💰 these tabloids would make if they came. It may also give the racists and tabloids a chance for recent pictures depicting them as monkeys or whatever they can come up with. I agree with you why should they put their children through that? I wouldn't want to see them here either.
SueSaid · 07/08/2021 13:29

@Plumtree391

I don't see why Meghan and Harry shouldn't be 'on the balcony' next year or any other year.
No I don't see why they shouldn't be. The RF have always risen above it, led by example and would no doubt welcome them.

I just can't see why they'd want to be. Surely it would be massively triggering for H, as we know London is because he said so. We know they had such a negative experience it would seem a massive step backwards. I'd just send a card to granny if I were him. Unless they feel under pressure to report back to cbs?

Greenlittle · 07/08/2021 13:32

I’m sure Harry can rise above his feelings too. ( Since he is Rf he has those mystical “rise above things” genes). And do whatever he thinks is the right thing

You can't grasp why it would be hypocritical nonsense for H&M to be waving at the UK public at the Jubilee after him running the UK down on US TV?

Might help if you turn the question round and ask H&M: why don't you want Thomas and family round for Christmas dinner?

Disloyalty and public bad mouthing - relationship ending.

H&M will not be tolerated by the UK public at any balcony appearance - I know their PR are trying to pretend it's a possibility, it won't happen though - they burned bridges with the UK.

DottyHarmer · 07/08/2021 13:40

@Greenlittle - well that’s a shame. So cutting ribbons is dull and pointless, but a glossy presentation of oneself is engaging and exciting.

Doesn’t say much for human nature today, does it, that it’s all about the gloss . That’s why I picked up on the “jowls” comment upthread. It seems to me to be warped thinking that venerates one woman over another due to her lack of jowls. I have one word to bellow, SHALLOW !!!!

Roussette · 07/08/2021 13:41

No one can speak for the whole of the UK public, that's just ridiculous.

Mummy194 · 07/08/2021 13:45

Judging by the record number of complaints to ITV regarding Piers M, I would say, the UK public is more emphathetic than you make them out to be. They would not have even gone through the trouble, if they hated MM as much as you make out.

Opening little curtains and cutting ribbons is indeed easy and pointless. It would even have more meaning if you just asked the local pensioners club member to do it. Or a local celeb. So little effort. I believe that is what most countries without royalty do.

Mummy194 · 07/08/2021 13:50
@Greenlitte

And that’s why Harry bumped the Royal Marines memorial event for the Lion King premiere.

I suppose remembering people killed in the line of duty is duller to some than mixing with the cast of the Lion King
The opening of the Lion King brought the elephants charity a fat pay check through their door, which was very much needed.

Royal Marines had no problem, as they are used to having H come over and stand on ceremony annually, they were hardly going to deny much needed money to another charity for their pride.

Greenlittle · 07/08/2021 13:52

I think it is shallow to revere someone because of their birth family. Why should the royals be in a position to cut ribbons? What is the message? Clue: it is the opposite of meritocracy.

I would much rather we look up to people like Marcus Rushford and scientists and athletes and ordinary people who do extraordinary things. Or even ordinary decent things. They should be the ones opening buildings and cutting ribbons.

Better still, they should be doing things like MM is, helping build informal networks of support.

The most shallow approach is to fawn up to royalty and our “betters” .

'You can't grasp why it would be hypocritical nonsense for H&M to be waving at the UK public at the Jubilee after him running the UK down on US TV?'

It would be funny. Their embarrassing hypocrisy would be there in glorious technicolour for all to see, as always. CBS journos would get front row seats.

Greenlittle · 07/08/2021 13:56

I don’t see H&M running down my country 🤷‍♀️

Maybe because I don’t conflate the RF with my country?

'I’m sure Harry can rise above his feelings too. ( Since he is Rf he has those mystical “rise above things” genes'

They aren't mystical genes. It is what they actually have done, they haven't reacted to his public goading. The rf has risen above it. H, not so much.

Still they'll welcome them back just has H the brass neck to appear. The answer to that is yes $$$ 😂.

DottyHarmer · 07/08/2021 13:58

Regardless of who had a cheque, the point was that Harry dumped a previous engagement to attend the Lion King premiere.

Greenlittle · 07/08/2021 14:00

One day, if we have a Republic and Archie decides to stand for President (assuming he has grit, determination and achievements). And wins. That would be epic.

Really piss off the right wingers 😂

The RM never issued any statement of complaint, you are just repeating the DM. You have no idea what was arranged.
MrsMayJune · 07/08/2021 14:01

Hypocrisy for pushing back against racism? The hypocrisy is the Royal Family speaking out against racism or visiting commonwealth countries when they rather the balcony remain without a trace of brown. That is hypocrisy and expecting Meghan to put up and shut up.

Let’s not go down the line of hypocrisy because the Royal Family is rife with it.

Meghan is a hero for speaking out. Too many times perpetrators want those they abuse to shut up and put up. When you don’t comply, they decide they are the victims and you are a hypocrite.

Look no further than the Royal Family for bucketloads of hypocrisy.

The world watching and the royal family is fading and becoming irrelevant because of its hypocrisy.

Greenlittle · 07/08/2021 14:01

Janie, you talk about money as if it is a dirty word.

From what I can see, the RF is as brass neck money grabbing as it comes. If Harry is doing the same, it is simply a family tradition

You might need to remember that those complaints were before the lies and misrepresentations were exposed and H&M became a UK laughing stock. Did you miss the last 3-4 months - "3 days before hand " etc

Harry's memoir should clarify some of the half-truths and then those people will have the right of response. He did say it would be an "honest" account of his mistakes?

Harry: who was it that said M can't access mental healthcare and who said what about Archie?

The right to reply will then be permitted. At the moment, Harry is relying on confidentiality agreements to prevent his version of events being exposed - however, ihose confidentially agreements relating to workplace can and will be put aside due to bullying investigation etc. I've linked to ACAS previously saying confidentially agreements cannot be imposed where there is bullying and misrepresentation of events.

CauliflowerCheese30 · 07/08/2021 14:04

For all we know, it could have been Harry that started off the conversation about any babies skin colour.

Marmaladeagain · 07/08/2021 14:05

Yes CauliCheese that is a good point, going by H's history it seems highly like it is he that would start a crass conversation Grin

Marmaladeagain · 07/08/2021 14:07

mangled/strangled sentence there...
