Blurb from publisher.

In an intimate and heartfelt memoir from one of the most fascinating and influential global figures of our time, Prince Harry will share, for the very first time, the definitive account of the experiences, adventures, losses, and life lessons that have helped shape him.

Covering his lifetime in the public eye from childhood to the present day, including his dedication to service, the military duty that twice took him to the frontlines of Afghanistan, and the joy he has found in being a husband and father, Prince Harry will offer an honest and captivating personal portrait, on that shows readers that behind everything they think they know lies an inspiring, courageous and uplifting human story.'

@TSSDNCOP

Bit of a cross post there *@GreenCrayon*, sorry Blush
No need to apologise. I think it's quite telling a few people have made similar comments so surely even if Harry and Meghan have not thought about what comes next someone advising them would have, unless they are just surrounded by 'yes' men.
the80sweregreat · 20/07/2021 20:50

I have a lot of time for Katie price too. She may not be perfect, but she is honest and been a positive role model for Harvey.
She has always worked : her relationships may be unconventional, but you can't fault her work ethic.
Harry is just trading off being a Royal and had everything handed to him on a plate in life.
You can't compare really.

JacquelineCarlyle · 20/07/2021 20:51

I agree @the80sweregreat

Mrs08 · 20/07/2021 20:51

Harry is the 21st century Duke of Windsor, conplete with the American divorcee wife.

I'm no royalist but this whole thing must be intensely painful for HMQ...her Uncles selfishness, lack of intelligence and foof struckness had such profound consequences for her parents and for her.

Tommy Lascelles wrote to the the King in the 1930s that he thought Edward had no morals at all. Why would he need them though?

Wrt all the books/TV interviews etc ...It's all a bit...tawdry...isn't it?

No one sane thinks the RF are people to emulate or admire, surely? They are all the products of stifling tradition, aloof at best abusive at worst parenting and none of them are too bright.

The late Prince Phillip had the most appalling childhood and it showed, frankly. He was a deeply emotionally damaged person.

As for Charles...well. he wrote his own book bleating about how awful his life is/was. Not one to talk is he? He also did a tell all interview with JD.

They are all as bad as each other tbh.

I cannot warm to W&K at all. Their "We are just normal parents just like you" shtick is getting really old and - frankly - offensive during lockdown. We dont all live on an estate with staff!

Ugh.

PurpleOkapi · 20/07/2021 20:51

Meghan gets blamed because she's very obviously the brains of the operation, or at least less of a dolt than Harry. If it were the other way around and people were blaming Harry because they thought Meghan wasn't smart enough to have come up with most of this on her own, the same people currently saying it's racist to blame Meghan would instead be claiming it was racist to blame Harry because doing so presumed that Meghan, a woman of color, was stupid.

Mrs08 · 20/07/2021 20:52

They can't be being advised???
Surely???

GreenCrayon · 20/07/2021 20:54

@Mrs08

They can't be being advised??? Surely???
They will probably have some advisors but whether they listen to them or they just tell them what they want to hear is anyone's guess.
the80sweregreat · 20/07/2021 20:55

The people around them must only be ' yes' men and women surely ?
Out to make money out of them before all the sheen wears off. The likes of Oprah will drop them once the money dries up.

Diverseopinions · 20/07/2021 20:57

Mrs08, in all fairness to W and K, dressing George in a suit for the Euros wasn't really sending a message of being down with the peeps. That would have been Diana going to Thorpe Park. I think W and K do stick to royal protocols, but their kids are very wholesome and natural and just look like little ones in a normal rumbustious family.

I meant more the cringey zoom chats with the plebs from.theur vast estate during lockdown.

The sympathetic nodding and Ernest looks. They make my teeth itch.

I don't care what their kids wear.

the80sweregreat · 20/07/2021 21:00

It was protocol in the Royal box to wear a tie for the England match. If they had put George in a England track suit they would have been flamed too! They couldn't win with that one really.
( imagine him draped in an England flag ? Lol 😂)

EdithWeston · 20/07/2021 21:02

They always wanted to monetise it, but for some reason I expected better, I thought there would be other worthwhile stuff, charity, Africa, the Un, something, but it’s just constant selling stories and cashing in on being royal, and nothing else

Covid was probably a very large spanner in the works.

I can't help but think that they might have done better to ride out the pandemic quietly and then reappear with something properly up and running. I still have no idea what Archewell actually does

GreenCrayon · 20/07/2021 21:06

I don't think even Archewell really knows what it does so you're not alone in that regard. Grin

Viviennemary · 20/07/2021 21:12

Nobody does really. But their money goes into Archewell. Very generous. Hmm Small print they pay themselves a wage from it and claim expenses. In reality only 5% of the money needs to go to a good cause. Its to promote harmony love and kindnesss and make the world a better place.Grin

I wonder if in a few years time it will be like 'Rich House, Poor House', with Prince Harry invited to spend the night in a shelter for the homeless and to give his impressions, based on what he's used to. That would be a real platitude-fest. " Well, we didn't have nylon sheets at Windsor Castle, but, in the army we had beds that were narrower than this one. Not that I talk about the army, because we don't do it". " But you talk about your family, Sir". " That's different".

Certainly the dynamic has shifted in the Sussex union. It's now Alpha Harry, just ' cradling' Meghan when she was upset, indeed photographed cradling her, Archie and bump in one massive sweep, like the archetypal strong, ..well..not so silent male. Now he's just like after years of confinement, he's been let out to do things any way he wishes. It's all him, rather than a power couple.

Diverseopinions · 20/07/2021 21:21

Yes, I'm not keen on W and K zoom chats. Much better for them to stick to traditional meet and champion.

smilesy · 20/07/2021 21:32

The Telegraph has an article about the ghost writer of Harry’s book. Apparently he is interested in “complex father-son relationships”. It says that “ working with Moehringer is a statement of intent that this book may have something to say”. Sorry, the article is behind a paywall

I do cringe at their zoom chats but I do hate any virtual chat. I think it reminds me of being forced to talk to the in laws on Skype!!
Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/07/2021 22:05

I thought this was a joke when I first saw it

I'm still hoping it is ...

StartupRepair · 20/07/2021 22:13

Before marriage Harry was. Seen as fun, warm, spontaneous and with his mother's ability to connect with strangers. Now in 2021 he is known for being angry and unhappy and lashing out at his family of origin. That is why people associate Meghan with the change.

Yes the change in dynamic is interesting. I am positive it is not accidental. I think M tried to drive everything with herself at the helm and H running along trying to jump on the bandwagon. Then it may have dawned on her that she didn’t have the pulling power and needed his status to get the attention and money they needed. So the whole dynamic switched round. Little, defenceless and misunderstood M with big protector Royal defector husband who has Given It All Up for the sake of his family. It’s all carefully stage managed.

Africa would be too much and a world away from LA. The UN and the like will stay away from the flash.

Yawn re the book really, just too predictable. At least you know the man's price. 20m will keep them going for another two or three years
