Well Harry is looking quite good. Suntanned and healthy. The glow of new parent perhaps. Just seen his video on Diana awards and he looked so happy when visiting Wellchild too.

I'm sure his charities were happy to keep in touch with him.

The Sussexes are criticised because of their petulant and appalling behaviour.

Absolute rubbish. How come then that the media were criticising them before they were even married? Some of the headlines were appalling. There were loaded comments about her ethnicity when they were just dating.

How come then there were threads on here running them down as soon they got engaged?
How come then the seeping criticism started so early when they had done nothing wrong?

queenofarles · 10/07/2021 13:27

But no one knows if it was actually implied in the exact way it was claimed on OW.

And Why were they both praising the royal Family at their engagement interview saying they are the family she never had ? It must have been around that time that remark took place?

Roussette · 10/07/2021 13:28

I hope you're not speculating there. 'Suggested' by whom, scobie?

Janiie If you are going to make a snarky comment to me, please RTFT and try and understand what was said before. You obviously haven't.

The speculation is in the article linked by CauliflowerCheese.

PearlNextDoor · 10/07/2021 13:31

Yes, Beatrice and Eugenie were savaged horribly by the media. They did nothing worse than not be as thin as the papers would have liked.

@PearlNextDoor

They never reacted though did they. Just acted with grace and dignity and didn't justify any tabloid crap with a response. H should have followed their example.
CauliflowerCheese30 · 10/07/2021 13:33

In an illustration of the trust placed in her by Prince Charles, she was asked to accompany him on a visit to Jesus House Church in London less than 48 hours after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made allegations of racism against the Royal Family during their interview with Oprah Winfrey.

She could already have been asked to go for all we know, and it just so happened to be after the Oprah interview.

SueSaid · 10/07/2021 13:38

'How come then that the media were criticising them before they were even married? Some of the headlines were appalling'

There was also a lot of support!! The problem is how the media operate. Not just the UK media, but the media in general. They big people up and they knock them down. If I were famous I'd do what most of them do and just ignore it.

It's like the bullies at school they do it for a response, once you give them one it escalates. As we've seen.

PearlNextDoor · 10/07/2021 13:38

@JaniieJones it's weird that Meghan knew Eugenie but didn't know that they'd been savaged by the press? Did Eugenie not even mention it? Fair play to her if she was so unperturbed by it that she didn't tell Meghan when they were friends.

bluebell34567 · 10/07/2021 13:40

‘eeny, meeny, miney moo, catch a tiger by the toe’

why is that racist? dont want to make a mistake.

Exactly.

So this is what i was struggling with the pps comment 'and yes it is suggested he asked her to accompany him as a result of the interview'.

Suggested by whom? Sounds like tabloid gossip to me.

Oh for goodness sake!
I presume that's directed at me?

Ajandjjmum said it was suggested in the article. I agreed with her post.

Stop struggling lol

Ah she'll have mentioned it, they all will have. They'll have said 'oh just ignore it they'll move onto someone else eventually' (I'm speculating Grin), but the Sussexes didn't want to leave it as H had been wrestling with the huge chip on his shoulder for years so was a ticking, sulky, aggrieved time bomb.

Let's leave it. Not responding on this anymore. It's a waste of time.

I understood that no-one was intending to hurt thats the important bit.

Gorgeouslilgirl · 10/07/2021 13:54

Oh ffs, racism is not using politically incorrect language. It s an attitude, a mindset of “othering”.

You know, the belittling, patronising, holding certain people to a higher standard and somehow calling them liars and hypocritical when you let character flaws in others slide by. Lack of empathy because you can’t relate to a person who looks different from you.

And excusing and minimising racism as “political correctness” when it is deep rooted prejudice, aggression and inequality

bluebell34567 · 10/07/2021 14:00
@bluebell34567

It’s not my job to educate you apparently, you should educate yourself 😀 but in some versions tiger was a very different racist word beginning with N, so understandably some people could be offended.

You can google for more information if you’d like.
thanks Smile
@bluebell34567

I’m just saying google it as I’d rather not write anything that is racist to explain the rhymes racism on a public forum.

Unfortunately lots of childhood rhymes are fairly undesirable when you drill down

Yes and as been said repeatedly in this situation the problem is the media, not anyone's race. Just because they are in the rf they are targets. Unfair yes, racist? No.

What was wrong with Beatrice and Eugenie? Bit overweight, terrible dress sense? Ditto sarah Ferguson. Didn't quite justify the years of ridicule did it.

So save your 'othering' sermon for examples of where you can see people have been treated differently.

'The colour of a persons skin doesn’t make me believe or disbelieve them but I judge them based on the other truth and lies they tell'

'And H&M have lied'

Exactly.

No doubt the avid reporter will get this deleted but the runaway Sussexes seem to ironically be using racism accusations in an attempt to silence critics, which is really disturbing for those who have experienced actual racism.

Gorgeouslilgirl · 10/07/2021 14:13

Yes, of course. Only H&M have lied. And they are hypocrites. And grabby. The rest of the RF are of course models of virtue and above reproach. Quite saintly.

I think fat shaming is abhorrent. But belittling based on race is on another scale of assault, as compared to belittling based on weight. That’s why the equality commission protects race as a core identity characteristic. Not weight.
