Well Harry is looking quite good. Suntanned and healthy. The glow of new parent perhaps. Just seen his video on Diana awards and he looked so happy when visiting Wellchild too.

I'm sure his charities were happy to keep in touch with him.

An allegation of racism against our top state institution is a big deal.

It is illegal, for one thing.

But I guess people just accept that we probably have a racist head of state institution. And that probably enables and filters racism as “ok” down the ranks in our society

LaMarschallin · 08/07/2021 17:02

Roussette

What on earth are you on about Janiie?!

They are financially independent, so not sure where the Queen comes into it... except Harry is her grandson. And Always Will Be!
(Let's not talk about taking titles away whilst others keep theirs...)

Oh dear.

I enjoy perusing these threads, occasionally (foolishly) dropping in.

But I've lost track again.

What's the bit about "Let's not talk about taking titles away..."? I've scrolled back and can't see anything Janiie's said about that.

And of course Harry will always be queen Elizabeth the second's grandson. But not Always (with a capital) the queen's grandson.
Later he'll be, within his lifetime hopefully, the king's son, the king's brother, then uncle, then... great-uncle of the monarch? I'm not good on family trees.

I've quoted Rousette (you were very helpful on one of these threads, Roussette, when I couldn't see Meghan's shoes) but would be grateful if anyone can put me back on the right track so I can just read along in the background Smile

Agreed she hasn't but as sure as night follows day, it's what comes next. Always. Not necessarily by Janiie, but by others!

So... apologies... I was just pre-empting what I imagine would be said about titles...Grin

I'll do my best to get it back on track LaM you've been missed on these threads! Smile

You're too kind!

I have to say, I'm at my best when discussing shoes or wedding dresses with bows on the bottom, but I try - in my ineffectual way - to keep up.

An allegation of racism against our top state institution is a big deal.

It is, but it was a vague allegation with no one named and two differing accounts of when and how it took place, so it would be difficult to investigate, I would think 🤷‍♀️

It does sound as if the RF know who it was from their statement.

If they come back for the Jubilee celebrations after slagging off the royal family I think eyes would be out on sticks. Mind you, harry styled it out on the 2/7. I don't think he looked like a ''joker'' he was just trying hard not to look like there was an obvious froideur between them but William wasn't playing ball. He went with Ice Block.

They'd be mad to come back. They need to give the public, and their family time to forget that they sat on Oprah saying daddy cut us off, we've no security, kate made me cry, somebody wondered how dark the baby (who wasn't even conceived) might be.

Gorgeouslilgirl · 08/07/2021 18:07

So if a racism. Or sexism. Or rape claim is an allegation with differing accounts, then they shouldn’t be investigated?

I guess we can say goodbye to most of our legal protections in this regard then as most of claims are rarely open and shut.

That’s why we have employment tribunals and courts. But hey ho. Racism? Nah. Too hard and uncomfortable, let’s brush it under the carpet and berate the person raising it

Gorgeouslilgirl · 08/07/2021 18:09

I hope the public and family doesn’t forget the racism claims and alleged lack of support for MM’s mental health from the RF institution.

These need to be investigated, not “forgotten”

Roussette · 08/07/2021 18:28

@JaniieJones was saying how H&M are declaring how mean everyone in the RF is to them - apart from TQ who they FaceTime and ring regularly 🤣 just ‘ pick up the phone

You clearly misunderstood her comments

No. I clearly understood them. There was nothing about facetiming and ringing regularly.

I don't understand your post actually!

I agree @Gorgeouslilgirl. If the RF want to go down the route of investigating bullying by MM claims, let's look at the rest too.

Zuluqueen · 08/07/2021 18:30

I never understand why and how some people can excuse the whole how dark would the baby be? . It’s not Meghan’s responsibility to hope people forget this conversation ever took place .She has no reason to apologise for being hurt by it Jesus!. Sometimes it’s so exhausting being black/ biracial. It is not normal or right to have people ‘worry and have concerns about the darkness of potential baby and those who continually question, excuse and berate Meghan for not sharing who said this just add to the hurt.

smilesy · 08/07/2021 18:32

I didn't say it shouldn’t be investigated. I said it was difficult given that no one was named and stories differed. No direct accusation has been made. Their claims would not stand up to a tribunal or a court of law. If there is to be an investigation then the person accused needs to be named and the allegations made firmly.

yeh, true, but first she'd have to confirm whether the conversation H heard was before or after they were married, before there was even a baby. What exactly was said? I have my doubts that it was racism.

My children are mixed race and their father was the one sitting there wondering if they'd get blue eyes. This idea that any speculation is automatically racism is a huge leap and does need to be investigated more thoroughly.

The vagueness of what they've said is so hard to investigate. Somebody said something racist!

Good point upthread about all of their staff being white though. Do non-while people apply though? I can imagine it's a particular demographic that applies. Posh white folks who can afford to work for half nothing because it's (to them) a smart job. I'd never in a million years apply because I'm Irish and I can instantly recognise that I could earn more elsewhere and the ''cachet'' of working for the royal family wouldn't cut much ice for me.

With regard to her mental health, I wonder did she ask her mother to sort out therapy? Or why she didn't go to a trusted therapist of Harry's? If she didn't want to tell harry she was depressed, what could the RF do for her?

It does need to be explained a bit more as well as investigated I'd say.

Roussette · 08/07/2021 18:46

Cacacois Nor me.

I think we are at cross purposes

Zuluqueen · 08/07/2021 18:48

Just because your children are mixed race and their father wondered if they have blue eyes doesn’t mean that Meghan shouldn’t be hurt that someone had concerns about how dark their potential will be. It’s your right to doubt her and Harry I’m quite sure most mixed race and black peoples in relationships understand that this type of conversation stings. My children are mixed race too, I’m mixed race and I would have be hurt if this happened to me.

PearlNextDoor · 08/07/2021 18:49

ps, it was Anne, so it was deduced apparently, and if Princess Anne is properly accused of something specific, I'd guess will list off the real reasons she was against the marriage. I'd say that Meghan would be mad to name Anne.

PearlNextDoor · 08/07/2021 18:50

Or rather, Harry, as he was the one who heard it.

PearlNextDoor · 08/07/2021 18:57

@Zuluqueen yeh I get that, but it assumes that wondering how dark a baby's skin will be means that the person wondering thinks dark = bad.

Maybe they do, but that isn't a given. And if Meghan wasn't even there when the conversation took place, it's a bit incendiary to label ''somebody'' racist.

Gorgeouslilgirl · 08/07/2021 18:57

Why on earth should Anne be “against” H&M marrying? What business is it hers? Or indeed to comment on the potential skin colour of the child?

I think most people get that it is probably driven by prejudice. Except for those who act wide eyed innocent

PearlNextDoor · 08/07/2021 18:59

She wasn't won over my Meghan apparently. Thought she needed a lot of attention. Didn't believe she would be a good royal wife.

Put simply, she didn't like her.

Gorgeouslilgirl · 08/07/2021 19:02

“A good royal wife”? What does that even mean?

And why does Meghan need to “win” Anne over? Why not the other way around, as Harry is closer to the throne than Anne is?

Was Anne appointed as the guardian and vetter of the royal line?

Gorgeouslilgirl · 08/07/2021 19:04

And in case you are not aware, “not a good fit” is code word for plain old racist “not one of us”

I can’t believe people are justifying this garbage instead on saying that Anne should be investigated for her alleged comments (if she made them)

smilesy · 08/07/2021 19:07

It is only speculation that it was Anne. There is absolutely no concrete evidence that it was her. Equally her opinion on M is just speculation. This is the problem with this whole allegation. No real evidence has been offered.
