Harry in the UK

Well Harry is looking quite good. Suntanned and healthy. The glow of new parent perhaps. Just seen his video on Diana awards and he looked so happy when visiting Wellchild too.

I'm sure his charities were happy to keep in touch with him.

Of course, they can come to the Jubilee if they want! Whether posters like it or not, Harry is a member of the RF.

I agree the fuss won't die down until the press over here give up on it, and stop using them as clickbait. (and posters stop the threads on them!)

stairway · 05/07/2021 18:09

Chances of Meghan coming back to the UK are zero.

And maybe they stop drawing attention to themselves?

Don't blame her with the vile press she receives.

How have they 'drawn attention to themseles' lately? Harry turning up to unveil a statue of his mother?

SueSaid · 05/07/2021 18:47

'Of course, they can come to the Jubilee if they want! Whether posters like it or not, Harry is a member of the RF.'

Well it isn't whether we like it or not the point is he doesn't have a good word to say about any of them

Why on earth would there want to be part of the celebrations. Oh wait, it'll be headlines globally won't it! 🤑🤑

Roussette · 05/07/2021 18:51

Agree. It's not about whether we like it or not. We don't own them. It's Harry's family. Hard to accept I know...

BadgerB · 05/07/2021 19:05

Perhaps we will hear from them now what H's speech would have been had he been allowed to make it.

Be a shame to waste it - and they do like to get their thoughts out in the open.

Oldbutstillgotit · 05/07/2021 19:07

I think that returning for his Grandfather’s funeral and the unveiling of the statue to his beloved mother are perfectly understandable reasons to return however I cannot imagine H - and definitely not m - would want to return for the type of events that are being planned for HM’s Platinum. Where would he/ they be in any procession ? What events would they participate in ? Other Senior Royals are going to be out and about the U.K. but I can’t see BP wanting H to do that and would he want to anyway ?
Another tricky situation looming .

smilesy · 05/07/2021 19:15

I agree that they can come if they are invited as it is of course, his family. However, he didn’t seem to want to go even slightly out of his way to catch up with the wider family while he was here this time. We have established that he was here from Friday to Friday. He was in quarantine until Wednesday. The Queen was in Scotland until Thursday. He stayed for 20
Minutes after the ceremony and was back in LA on Friday. Ok, so he has a small baby and a young son, but his grandmother is 95 years old. She is, hopefully, going to last a good while longer, but there are no guarantees. He could have stayed a day or so longer to see her, don’t you think? He didn’t seem to want to see his family. Unfortunately for HaM they will have to come back here if they want to sort things about with the RF because the logistics of the RF going to LA would seem too difficult to me🤷‍♀️

CallmeHendricks · 05/07/2021 19:24

Logistics or not, there is no way on this earth that any of the RF would be going out to LA to build any bridges.

SueSaid · 05/07/2021 19:27

'However, he didn’t seem to want to go even slightly out of his way to catch up with the wider family while he was here this time'

Yes he was off like greased lightning wasn't he. It would be far more believable that he may want a relationship with his family if he chose to spend time with them when actually in the country rather than attending any jubilee do. It would just be absolutely ridiculous after everything he reckoned he endured prior to his flounce.

Samcro · 05/07/2021 19:30

Thing is if he had stayed longer, we would have had a lot of people saying his marriage was in trouble.
He really can't win.

Oh no I didn't mean stay for weeks or anything. Just, you know, a couple of days. Try to reach out and shine some lights.

He can win and he is winning. He has a lovely family in the US and millions in the bank. That is winning. He just needs to show us some of this #LoveAlwaysWins guff regarding his UK family and I don't just mean telling CBS him and the Queen are BFFs.

Oldbutstillgotit · 05/07/2021 19:36

“Thing is if he had stayed longer, we would have had a lot of people saying his marriage was in trouble.

I honestly don’t think any reasonable person would think that . An extra 48 hours to see HM , W , C and the Cambridge DC would ( I think) he seen as a step towards reconciliation.

smilesy · 05/07/2021 19:37

@samcro. I’m sure if he had only stayed a couple of days no one would have even imagined his marriage was in trouble. That would be a bit of a leap of the imagination. It must surely be fairly common for one half of a couple who had to travel a long way to be with their family to spend just a couple of days with them? Meghan didn’t come, understandably, as she has recently given birth and no one would think that strange. If he had spent a few weeks here without her, that might be different.

smilesy · 05/07/2021 19:38

@Oldbutstillgotit. Cross post 🤣

CallmeHendricks · 05/07/2021 19:51

I hope they don't return for the Jubilee. It doesn't seem to me that they rate the constitution of the Royal Family very highly, so why would they want to honour it, other than to get their faces shown?
Their appearance here would make the whole thing about them, when the spotlight should remain firmly on the Queen.
To be honest, I'm sick of hearing about the pair of them and would like them to stay away, living their best life and let the Royal Family regroup and attempt to repair some of the damage that's been caused.

Roussette · 05/07/2021 20:48

It will always be about them, whatever they do, because it's clickbait for the media £££££

CallmeHendricks · 05/07/2021 20:52

Well, I just don't want to read anything more about them in the media. How lovely it would be if, come next June, we could just concentrate on the Queen and the celebrations planned. I am frankly dreading the "will they/won't they turn up," "who'll be in the carriages and what will H&M's expressions be if they perceive themselves to have been demoted to a car," or "who's on the balcony in prime position?"

Sadsiblingatsea · 05/07/2021 21:10

@Mummy194 I disagree that Harry was “briefed against”.
This spoilt, petulant manchild has had a ridiculously good press for years.
Somehow he got away with trophy hunting water buffalo in Africa; riding his polo pony so hard she had a heart attack; injuring others with spurs. Megan rehomed one of her ‘beloved’, ha ha, dogs because the poor thing disliked Harry. Who could blame it?
Horrible spoilt boy.

bluebell34567 · 05/07/2021 21:28

@Oldbutstillgotit

I also read ( again no idea if it is true) that the reason Catherine wasn’t there was because H didn’t think it was right for one wife to be there if the other wasn’t.
such a shame. K tried to be a peace maker at PP's funeral.
bluebell34567 · 05/07/2021 21:31

@smilesy

They won’t come discreetly though. And even if they did, it would be hard to miss them if they were at the celebrations. As for the press finding other “victims”, maybe they will, but the Sussexes don’t want to be out of the press or under the radar. How would they make money out of that? I would like them to reconcile and for all the fuss to die down, but that seems unlikely to happen in the short term.
not in the short term and long term.
bluebell34567 · 05/07/2021 21:32
