Yes it's his birthday but you wouldn't know it. Not one mention jn the media about it and yet we were subjected to plenty of charlotte and her recent birthday. Funny that.

@lollipoprainbow you expected the media to have stories out at 7am about his birthday? Or had you read all the papers by then and found nothing?

Nanasueathome · 06/05/2021 16:06

No official photo but they’ve asked people to donate $5 to Vaccine Distribution in developing countries

Roussette · 06/05/2021 16:07

Oh that's a good idea, well done them.

Mummy194 · 06/05/2021 17:21

Archie has been trending all day long.

And well done to the Sussex supporters for raising 50K so far towards their charities for his birthday.

lollipoprainbow · 06/05/2021 17:49

@FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop Yes to both

@Roussette

Has Archie been blamed for having a birthday today whilst one of the Royals does a zoom call or something?

Oh hang on... W&K announced their youtube channel yesterday..... naughty Archie having a birthday the day after that!

Blimey, ALL the newspapers cover to over by 7am. You're keen.

And FYI, news outlets will only usually publish the news of his birthday if they have something like a new photo. I'll tell you that so you can adjust your expectations next time you get upset about the media not publishing a random child's birthday

I wonder how much they'll be donating
Roussette · 06/05/2021 18:48

$50K raised so far.

Why do you need to know what they donate? It's none of your business, you don't pay for them as a couple.

SunbathingDragon · 06/05/2021 18:51

Happy birthday Archie.

It’s all over the media. I hope he is having a lovely day.

lollipoprainbow · 06/05/2021 18:54

@FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop who rattled your cage jees !! Shock

@Roussette i really don't think it's unreasonable to ask that when millionaires ask much much poorer people to give money to a cause, how much have they donated themselves

A bit like when Bono lectures us all about giving money for wells in Africa, or celebs make sad faced appeals for Children in Need - I'm a bit Hmm that they feel the need to tell people to reach into their pockets if they haven't reached into their own

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 06/05/2021 19:28

@lollipoprainbow no one - I'm not the one getting upset at 7am over a random child not being fawned over by the world's media

Official picture is here

The release of the picture being for mid-morning in California, and evening here

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 06/05/2021 19:50

Awww tis a lovely photo that is!

Although I have a soft spot for the one (maybe his first Christmas?) where his face was right up to the camera and H&M were peeking out from either side Grin

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 06/05/2021 20:42

I disagree about the photo. It's really irresponsible. It's a shame they decided to use balloons knowing how environmentally unfriendly balloons are. It will encourage even more use of the bloody things.

Hmm

He's a 2yo boy with a bunch of about six balloons which were probably taken back into the house after the photo. He was hardly going round starting forest fires

@Roussette

This made me laugh.
ChardonnaysPetDragon · 06/05/2021 20:57

He is a 2yo old boys but his parents are not. I'm not blaming the boy, he's not the one who bought the balloons and featured them in a photo that will get worldwide coverage.

Balloons are very dangerous for wildlife and the use of balloons in this photo will only encourage further use, when the exact opposite should happen. You'd think that someone as environmentally conscious as his parents would have realised that.

Mummy194 · 06/05/2021 21:11

You mean like the times Charlotte and George play with lots of balloons and encouraging other kids to join in for a party? Even though their parents support David Attenborough climate change and want to 'mend the earth'.

Stop being ridiculous.

Happy birthday Archie
Happy birthday Archie
OverByYer · 06/05/2021 21:25

It’s a nice photo but I’d have liked to have seen his face. He looks cute in his little jeans

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 06/05/2021 21:25

I have not seen the Charlotte and George photos but now I have I think that's wrong too.

Doesn't make Archie's photo any less irresponsible.

As for ridiculous, do you really think it's ok, the damage balloons cause?

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 06/05/2021 21:29

Do you seriously think no one thought to get balloons until they saw the photo of Archie Grin like I say with most balloon bundles they'll have probably been brought back into the house the spend the next six weeks slowly deflating until Harry decides to make Archie laugh by doing the helium voice

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 06/05/2021 21:33

No, I don't think no one thought of using balloons until they saw the photo of Archie holding them.

But I thought we were getting aware of the dangers they cause and I find it very disappointing that any progress that's been made in that regard will be reversed by this photo. It will send the message that balloons are Ok and aspirational. This is a wrong message.
