Omid Scodie says Meghan was wrong about Archie becoming a prince at birth

artquejtion · 01/05/2021 09:32

He has publicly stated that Meghan was incorrect about her understanding of the protocol around Archie becoming a Prince.

Considering Omid seems to the M & H unofficial spokesperson, it is more than likely that Meghan now realises this is the case and his skin colour would not have been a deciding factor in it.

it does make you wonder why Harry did not explain it to her ? did he just not have a clue about about Royal protocol and succession, maybe he never needed to understand it. . Or was he so desperate to get her to marry him that he fed her a load of bull, i.e. our kids will be princesses and princes. Did he hope he could convince the queen to change protocol for his family?

Please don't get this thread deleted with comments which MN don't like, I am beginning to suspect there are posters who purposely troll M & H threads to ensure MN will delete them, so there is never a discussion allowed to stand..

It is just a shame they can't see the hurt this may well cause her df and his df.

Referring to a toxic abuser who threatened and harassed his own child for money as "dear father" is ignorant and goady. Who gives a shit that an abuser's feelings might be hurt?

They rightly want to do things their own way yet they also seem to want to flick the Vs and rub their families noses in it too.

It's utterly bizarre to me that someone can have such a toxic and negative mindset that they'd perceive a happily married mum writing a sweet little poem celebrating her kids to be a deliberate V sign to people without happy families. The idea that women simply celebrating their own family is deliberate "rubbing people's noses in it"... there's no words.

They're not being happy AT you.

ajandjjmum · 05/05/2021 13:18

Funny that no-one's come along asking to publish my sweet little poems to DH - wonder what makes her that special? Grin

As recently as her wedding, Meghan was saying how much she loved her father and was trying to sort out the problems, so I can't see how he'd have gone from this to a toxic abuser virtually overnight.

He's absolutely not perfect - but which of us are?

But Peter Phillips isn't a Prince nor a working royal, doesn't have a title and doesn't have any income from the Royal Family coffers. Big difference

Nor do H&M. They are not working royals and don't get an income from the 'royal family coffers'.

Roussette · 05/05/2021 13:28

The milk advert was awful.

It's filmed in the equivalent of BP inside and out with a butler serving him milk. Really tacky. Really using and trading on his royal connections

Yet no one saying that was bad?
Weird.

SueSaid · 05/05/2021 13:38

'Yet no one saying that was bad? Weird'

Yes the milk advert was toe curlingly bad. Would've been even worse if he'd just been on a gossip show slating the RF and calling himself Duke at every available opportunity despite not 'been attached to the grandeur', right? Grin

Roussette · 05/05/2021 13:50

So toe curlingly bad, it was barely (if at all) mentioned on MN.
Except by me probably
Grin

Marmaladeagain · 05/05/2021 13:54

Janie -Meghan was in the RF for 18 months (May 2018) before they went to Canada in November 2019 where they decided they were leaving and didn’t return to live to the U.K. They returned for a couple of scheduled events prior to leaving March 2020. Archie didn’t ever return.

She has now been out of the RF for as long as she was in it Smile hilarious to use the title, not least after publicly damning the RF and describing the wedding as a spectacle for others. Charm is not her middle name.

The titles will have to be removed or told not to use them.

Samcro · 05/05/2021 13:57

i hope they keep their titles.
I also don't understand why people keep slagging Meghan of for going NC with her abusive father.

Roussette · 05/05/2021 13:59

That's Andrew's title gone too then!
That'll be interesting!
And Sarah's... wow, a real pruning of titles. I'll look out for this.

LaMarschallin · 05/05/2021 14:00

I used to post on some of these threads. Really can't be bothered now as they just seem to go round in circles and I don't care enough.
Still read through them every now and then though.

Anyway...
That advert has been mentioned loads, Rousette and not just by you.

Roussette · 05/05/2021 14:06

Oh good! Glad to hear that. Happy to be corrected and so it should be mentioned loads, it was naff

(I didn't advance search it, will learn next time 🤣)

Marmaladeagain · 05/05/2021 14:08

Yes I hope lots of titles go, unless a working royal there is no need.

slimming down as Charles has always said would happen.

Queen has given go ahead to start it.

JustLyra · 05/05/2021 14:10

@Roussette

It was mentioned in several threads I was on.

And criticised by a lot for both the trading on the connections and just how bad it was.

Roussette · 05/05/2021 14:12

Has Charles actually said about the slimming down though? I looked a while back and never found a direct quote. I believe it was mooted back in about 1989... but I do wonder if it's just the PR machine keeping us all quiet with the idea it might be slimmed down.

ohforarainyday · 05/05/2021 14:13

Nothing on MN (unless I've missed it) about the announcement in all the papers yesterday that the Queen is flogging her own booze in an attempt to fill the empty Palace coffers.

Not sure why the Palace coffers are empty when the Queen's one of the wealthiest women in the world in her own right, but she is infamously cheap.

Can you imagine the outrage and accusations if Meghan started selling Sussex-branded alcohol?

Anyway clearly the royals directly financially profit. It's ridiculous that Meghan's being attacked for a sweet little children's book when the BRF have been flogging tacky shit like pyjamas and tea towels with Imperial Crowns all over them for years.

LaMarschallin · 05/05/2021 14:15

(I didn't advance search it, will learn next time 🤣)

Goodness.

I didn't mean to provoke such tear-spurtiing hilarity, but pleased to caused a bit of cheeriness Smile

JustLyra · 05/05/2021 14:15

Removing titles is an interesting one - how far do you go?

The Duke of Gloucester is a working royal. Still does a lot despite his age. Once he dies his title is no longer a royal title, just a normal (for want of a better work) title. Would it be right to remove his title the second he stops? Would it just be his Prince title or his Dukedom or both?

I don’t think mass removal of title will happen for reasons i detailed earlier in the thread, but if it does is it right of fair that people like the Dukes of Kent and Gloucester, who were asked to give up their careers to be full time royals when they were much younger, have the rules changed on them because of Harry and Andrew?

Changes going forward are one thing, but they don’t tend to do retrospective changes because where do you draw the line?

Roussette · 05/05/2021 14:15

And that gin is very expensive! Sacrilege. £40 for ordinary sized bottle. But people love this sort of stuff. Absolutely love it.

SueSaid · 05/05/2021 14:15

'also don't understand why people keep slagging Meghan of for going NC with her abusive father'

Abusive? Isn't it well documented they had a good relationship until the wedding when he, like the Suxsexes have since done, blabbed to the media. He was supposed to be walking her down the aisle remember?! Then sadly had a heart attack, all evidenced by medical records.

They should put their efforts into shining lights on their disastrous relationships. 'Love always wins' they said. Unless related.. then it doesn't.

smilesy · 05/05/2021 14:16

The point is though. as many pp have said, the Queen and the palace are not using their titles on merchandise whilst at the same time slagging off the monarchy. I don’t think anyone has actually said Meghan shouldn’t write a book, just that she shouldn’t use her title to sell it if the RF is so repellent to her.

Roussette · 05/05/2021 14:16

Nor worries @LaMarschallin

I love a bit of hilarity, it makes the world go round 😂

It's not often I get likened to Kevin the teenager, fame at last lol

Samcro · 05/05/2021 14:17

surely you can't take the "prince" bit away. that is what they are.
even Andrew will always be a prince as he is part of the RF.

Marmaladeagain · 05/05/2021 14:17

No Meghan isn’t being ‘attacked’ Grin hilarious.
She said a load of lies on tv and now her and Harry will get ridiculed for being hypocrites - who could have seen that coming?

JustLyra · 05/05/2021 14:17

The slimming down has already happened. It was basically announced in a roundabout way when they stated that the York girls and any Wessex children would not be working royals. That’s the change.

That narrowed the field from the Queen and her cousins to just her children and the grandchildren from Charles. Which when you consider how many royals there were working, or expected to be working, when the Queen took the throne is a sizeable slimming.
