Omid Scodie says Meghan was wrong about Archie becoming a prince at birth

artquejtion · 01/05/2021 09:32

He has publicly stated that Meghan was incorrect about her understanding of the protocol around Archie becoming a Prince.

Considering Omid seems to the M & H unofficial spokesperson, it is more than likely that Meghan now realises this is the case and his skin colour would not have been a deciding factor in it.

it does make you wonder why Harry did not explain it to her ? did he just not have a clue about about Royal protocol and succession, maybe he never needed to understand it. . Or was he so desperate to get her to marry him that he fed her a load of bull, i.e. our kids will be princesses and princes. Did he hope he could convince the queen to change protocol for his family?

Please don't get this thread deleted with comments which MN don't like, I am beginning to suspect there are posters who purposely troll M & H threads to ensure MN will delete them, so there is never a discussion allowed to stand..

They say one thing and the opposite so who knows what they are hoping to achieve? Other than to cash in on their titles obviously

Marmaladeagain · 05/05/2021 08:04

@artquejtion - no nothing defiant, this was all planned since they first married - there are articles in the press in 2019 saying that M had a Hollywood agent on the go that the Palace didn't know about and was running book deals and tv ideas through them.

Any potential book etc would have to go through the team at the Palace as they would need to be in the loop etc and a Hollywood agent whilst saying she also wished to be a full-time working royal. Being a senior working royal required to act according to protocols etc

Dog show ideas and Quibi - being run by her (see links). When I link to articles behind a paywall, some can't see - so I've linked to various sources but just so you know the same news appears across the spectrum - the tabloids everyone is so dismissive of pick up news from the broadsheets and as the article in 2019 shows, everything H&M are doing was started as soon/if not before marriage. I expect the Netflix deal was fairly long in the making too.

So no need to say "do you believe everything you read".... inverted snobbery, sadly - it only reveals you don't read across the spectrum after all.

This Sun article is 2019 and foretells all the current plans - there was always the half-in/half-out fantasy they are still trying to achieve:

Looking at that sample page, the style is very odd for a children’s book. “And here in the window I’ll have tears of great joy...Looking out at My Love and our beautiful boy” and on another page, a picture of a man and a boy on a bench with the words “From here you will rest, See the growth of our boy”. it says it’s aimed at 3-7 year olds. 🤔. It is also 40 pages long. Much like the other books by the Royals, I don’t think it would have been publisher if she were not who she is.

EdithWeston · 05/05/2021 08:18

Lots of people, not just Royals by any stretch, bring out children's books but most of them don't become known as authors.

Sarah Fergson was one of the more successful ones, given the number of books she has had published (adult fiction this year, historical novel for Mills and Boon). And I don't think she has any 'draw' because of her name any more.

Marmaladeagain · 05/05/2021 08:23

not inverted - early, coffee.

Roussette · 05/05/2021 08:27

I think Sarah made quite a name for herself in the US. She was on the speaking circuit, she was a huge name for WeightWatchers, she was on endless talk shows and even... up until Covid, was going to be on a reality show, Dancing with Horses or something. No idea if that's happening now.
She's certainly a name over there.

ExitChasedByABee · 05/05/2021 09:05

I think Sarah was also on Oprah but that was many years ago, but I can’t be sure if that was before or after her separation and if her subsequent popularity was because of the Oprah interview or she was already making a name for herself there. I also can’t be sure if the Oprah interview was before the vomit-inducing toe-sucking incident 🤮 But I do know that when Virginia mentioned certain things that Andrew allegedly has done, specifically linked with feet, I couldn’t help but think that he and Sarah seem to have a foot fetish.

Was any of that edifying?

They love a title over there.

A book on family love and ties with your daddy?

StillRailing · 05/05/2021 09:58

It should have been a striking out on your own "quest" story, surely? With some wicked relatives.😅

toffeebutterpopcorn · 05/05/2021 10:00

I have quite a lot of family in publishing. It’s bloody hard for an average person to get a book deal.

But hey - famous and all of a sudden you know all about books, perfume, fashion, child rearing... it’s quite amazing really.

SueSaid · 05/05/2021 10:02

'It will be interesting to see how the book does.'

Oh it will be a best seller I doubt anyone will dispute that. They're are commercial gold dust which is brilliant as Prince Charles stopped funding them. Sadly they've seemed to have sold their their souls and consciences into the bargain. Still, something's got to pay for their Kardashian lifestyle.

Not sure what the fuss is about this one book when other Royals have written tons of books when within the RF and outside it.

Weird.

StillRailing · 05/05/2021 10:36

Good point rousette I wondered why it made the main bulletin on TV news last night. It's not something I'd have come across elsewhere as I'm not in the market for children's books nowadays.

Viviennemary · 05/05/2021 10:41

Now there are accusations of plagiarism in most of the main stream newspapers. Shock

SueSaid · 05/05/2021 10:46

'Not sure what the fuss is about this one book when other Royals have written tons of books when within the RF and outside it'

Do you really not get it?! Writing a book isn't the problem, as you say they've all done it. It is the fact they have thrown serious allegations at the RF, they seem to loathe the whole institution yet they are cashing in on their association with said loathed institution using Duke and Duchess at every opportunity. Be modern, be a feminist and ditch those titles! then people might say fair enough.

If a book was by 'Meghan', fine. We all know who she is. Even so it seems so cringe and utterly tone deaf to write a book about father's relationships with their sons when H is apparently barely speaking to his own and she dumped her df years ago. Stick to latte recipes perhaps.

derxa · 05/05/2021 10:47

I agree. She can write as many books as she likes.
Roussette · 05/05/2021 10:52

Janiie

Chill !

You sound very worked up about it all.

I contrast and compare to other Royals and don't see a problem and put things into context unlike some posters who get so worked up that H&M actually speak, move, write and breathe.

SarahF did similar, if not worse.

Whether you like it or not Meghan is Duchess of Sussex. Sarah is Duchess of York. Accept it.

Anne1958 · 05/05/2021 10:56

*A bit like the 'we got married 3 days before the big wedding', kind of the finger to others and a further rebellion to being told what they can and can't d

That’s exactly what it was. The middle finger. And I think if she could have worked in an actual ‘fuck the lot of you, the family and public alike, she would have.

SueSaid · 05/05/2021 11:06

'You sound very worked up about it all.'

I'm not worked up at all if anyone is I'd say it was you who seem desperate to defend the indefensible.

They don't want unfair scrutiny yet keep pulling these stunts that attract scrutiny. Why do they use their titles when they have nothing but contempt for the institution?

Can you not see the utter irony of writing a book about father's relationships with their sons when her own dh's relationship is in tatters with his df as is her own.

Now instead of saying I'm 'worked up' try and answer the above, hmm?
