I wonder if reconciliation is possible?

With Prince Philip now gone, the queen not as robust as she once was and grieving her loss, Prince Charles looked distraught today, Harry with a new baby on the way, memories of Diana's funeral today....I wonder if now isn't the perfect time for them to just all get together show their love for each other and clear the air (perhaps without Meghan's presence as she seems to inflame things).

I think it'll be telling how long Harry chooses to stay in the UK before he returns to the US (a clear indication of whether he's willing to hang around for a little while to mend fences or rush back home to Meghan and Oprah and Gail) I really wish the best for them all, family is everything but I'm not holding my breath.

Thank you rousette!
That’s a lovely photo. Archie looks so much like Harry. Can’t see M’s baby bump at all! I did think she looked quite far on pregnancy wise in the Oprah interview.

Roussette · 23/04/2021 16:26

Yes, he's the spit of Harry! I think it's the same shaped head or something, I don't know.

Samcro · 23/04/2021 16:27

strange.
a photo appears of Louis lots of isn't he cute type stuff.
one of Archie and his hair and skin colouring are mentioned ...oh and how quickly Meghan must have got pregnant after a miscarriage.Hmm
odd

IrmaFayLear · 23/04/2021 16:33

He’s a big lad! The next generation of William/Harry offspring are going to be high jumpers! (Unlike the Queen...)

Roussette · 23/04/2021 16:40

They both look tall for their ages don't they?

But given my DCs are very adult, I might well have that all wrong. I've totally forgotten what a 2 or 3 year old should look like!

I've seen the Queen about 30 years ago and yes she is tiny. But.... Queen Victoria was only 5'
Queen mother 5'2"
Queen 5'4" (but reckon she must be less than that now)
and Charles is 5'10" I'm surprised at that

Harry 6'2" and William 6'3"

Gosh!

didofido · 23/04/2021 17:08

@MrsTreglowan

I prefer redhead to the other word and no my skin is not pasty thanks plus there was no need to mention Meghan's colour was there
Oh for heavens sake! Is there any need to be so super-sensitive? I'm ginger - or was before I went grey - and so was my dad. And I think it's more racist to be unable to mention Meghan's complexion because her mother is black and she looks Mediterranean. As if there is something - shameful in having a black parent! THAT'S racist!
didofido · 23/04/2021 17:12

Oh, and was supposedly Diana was used the phrase "Ginger Spencer". She was pleased to have a baby so obviously like her family.

diddl · 23/04/2021 17:23

Think I read somewhere that William is set to become the tallest Monarch since Edward "Longshanks"

Archie looks very like both of his parents in that pic of her carrying him.

mermaidsariel · 23/04/2021 17:29

I love red hair and have never understood this ‘ginger’ stuff.

Mrsorganmorgan · 23/04/2021 17:35

My Mum had red hair, but she died before I knew her really. (I was 13 she was 39) and I love red hair.

Some of us were commenting on how lovely his hair was. Only one person I saw making comments speculating about his skin colour.

Did she make negative comments, like how pasty he might be?

Just nasty.

Roussette · 23/04/2021 18:01

Mrsorganmoran I hope you have some lovely pictures of her.
I love red hair, I've always found it really attractive. My best friend at school decades ago had the most glorious curly red hair.

I think they are, my kids are grown up by I have an only just 4 year old GC. Of course in a photo it can be deceptive with angles and things but they both look on the tall side to me.

Prince Philip was tall wasn't he? Maybe it is his gene.

Roussette · 23/04/2021 18:05

And Diana was 5'10 too so it might come from her.

ancientgran · 23/04/2021 18:06

Some people just love being able to pick on something to put other people down. I remember when I started school, just before my 5th birthday, and I came home and pinched my mother's make up and tried to cover my freckles due to teasing. For some reason people used to have a thing about suggesting you were the milkmans if you had red hair, in my case madness as my mother had red hair but you do get tired of the same old jokes, well attempts at jokes.
ancientgran · 23/04/2021 18:08

@Roussette

Yes of course, I'd forgotten she was tall.
MrsFin · 23/04/2021 18:14

@gulliblestravels

She looks almost full term so must have got pregnant very quickly after her miscarriage in July.

I was pregnant within a couple of months of my miscarriage.

The official advice back then was to wait 6 months, but I was late 30s and my GP DM told me just to "get on with it"!

Mrsorganmorgan · 23/04/2021 18:27

Rousette, I have a lovely picture of my Mum, sitting on rocks at a seaside place very close to me. Thank you for your thoughts.

Roussette · 23/04/2021 18:33

That is lovely Mrsorganmorgan
Flowers

Christinayangtwistedsister · 23/04/2021 19:05

I would imagine a reconciliation must be a long way off as I am sure there are a lot of hurt feelings on both sides

At the end of the day we will never really know the truth about it all

Mrsorganmorgan · 23/04/2021 19:47

Rousette, thank you for the flowers. You are such a good person.

Roussette · 23/04/2021 19:50

Thank you, but I really am not.

I just can't imagine what it's like losing a Mum at such a young and dare I say it... vulnerable age. It must've been so so hard for you.

I am sure you treasure that photo.

slithytoveisascientist · 23/04/2021 20:08

She probably did fall pregnant quite quickly after - one we are more fertile after a loss and two I have found as have many women I’ve spoken to that it feels like something you HAVE to do after a loss to start to heal.

Not sure why anyone would take that as negative, I see it as a good thing .

Mrsorganmorgan · 23/04/2021 20:08

It has been very hard, especially when I had my own daughter, and you are a very good person.
