With Prince Philip now gone, the queen not as robust as she once was and grieving her loss, Prince Charles looked distraught today, Harry with a new baby on the way, memories of Diana's funeral today....I wonder if now isn't the perfect time for them to just all get together show their love for each other and clear the air (perhaps without Meghan's presence as she seems to inflame things).

I think it'll be telling how long Harry chooses to stay in the UK before he returns to the US (a clear indication of whether he's willing to hang around for a little while to mend fences or rush back home to Meghan and Oprah and Gail) I really wish the best for them all, family is everything but I'm not holding my breath.

The RRs already explained that the school visit was meant to be only K and W came in later to 'support' after the interview.

The main thing is that they could easily have the black people who would have been in the background, come forefront at the last minute. If they were going to be out of short on the walk to the car, it's easy to arrange that - we don't see Headteachers accompany them to the car that often.

If the airline had known in advance that the royals would be flying, they would have long organised the logo flights.

Admitting to having used AS to read everything a frequent poster has posted to try to dox them: obsessive.
Admitting to spending hours google image searching everyone who did a particular job in order to dox someone: obsessive.

Spending 30 seconds on google: not obsessive.

All of this happened here on Mumsnet, I remember. It's still happening.

On the other side of the coin I remember some posters (or maybe it was one and the same poster) making racist comments on purpose in order to get threads deleted and close down discussion on M&H.

Just shows the internet is bonkers. Perhaps there needs to be a reset and no one is allowed to be anonymous.

the problem is that they are still around. nc and still post.when you have been on the receiving end of this, it makes it hard to move on and forget. it was a horrid time for me Roussette and some other posters. you can't expect people just to forget.

Well.... I've always said it on site stuff... I don't think NCing should be allowed. It is unusual on a forum and I've been on a few. There could be a secure area for posters who need help and don't want to be identified.

It would stop 99% of the nastiness on here. Especially on the M&H threads. I don't change my name, I get recognised and that leads to vitriol. Everyone should own their name and stand by it

I know that many posters post something, NC, come back, post something else unpleasant, have a go at posters, NC again. And so on. There's an element ofa lot of posters on these threads with no history because they NC all the time.

Then K&W were portrayed as sitting with the punters at a football match, when infact they were with godparents of their dc and other vetted people. The headlines said, this is how you do it, not like MM and Wimbledon.

All of this was done under SC.

Anyone with a spine would not let themselves be used like this against their brother, unless they actually authorise or agree with all this.

This may well be true but to my knowledge Kate has never cleared seats for her and her friends to sit in isolation at Wimbledon or get body guards to stop take photos of her. Why did she do it?

Once or twice I have been on the receiving end of a nasty, abusive poster and it is upsetting. It’s horrible to think there are such cruel and bitter people out there.

Roussette is very calm and considered. We should be able to have discussion - even a good old ding-dong - without extreme people spoiling things. Hopefully MN can have a good go at banning some posters on all sides who are at best troublemakers and at worst ignorant insult machines.

I totally agree. There's many people I don't agree with and them with me, that's fine by me, but in the end it should never ever become personal. Unfortunately it did as Samcro, me, and a couple of others have known to our cost.

It is interesting the points raised about the differing narratives, private jets, sports stadium coverage etc (is that what MM meant in the interview that the footage from Wimbledon with Kate were not as it seemed?).

My personal view is that the MM has received a “who does she think she is” attitude from the press all along, trying to expose a social climber above her station... obviously race has been a big part of this, but also being an actress/American/confident feminist etc.

Kate had years and years from that whispery, doe-eyed engagement interview to prove her worth as an immaculate, non controversial, upper crust wife and mother, right at the time everything is gearing towards William becoming heir.

Meghan was always going to be unfairly compared and I really do sympathise with her feelings of unfairness and that no one would step in to address these things, especially as the racism element gave them a really big reason why they should have done. However, the interview seemed to me much more of an attack on individual family members that the general system/press, which is the difficult thing to get past and reconcile within the family I think.

Of course, the only other alternative is that Charles and William knew there was a good chance the racism would be raised in the interview, and that's why they both organised to be photographed with black people immediately afterwards.

i doubt very much W&K said oh we need a black person. mainly because if that was the case, someone would have told the press, it would have been to outrageous to keep quiet. I think it was just a coincidence.
W &K have thrown H under the bus a lot, but IMO not this time.

The idea that a school would agree with this is deeply insulting to teachers. As a former teacher I can tell you that no primary school would let themselves be used in this way. And to repeat. The black teacher accompanying W&K looked like a senior member of staff not a 'prop'.

The only posters who have done that are the anti-Meghan lot, whenever a thread doesn't go to their liking (because their lies are exposed, or someone posts something that shows William or Kate in a bad light) they try to deliberately derail the thread with abuse so it'll get deleted.

It's an old tactic.
