I wonder if reconciliation is possible?

With Prince Philip now gone, the queen not as robust as she once was and grieving her loss, Prince Charles looked distraught today, Harry with a new baby on the way, memories of Diana's funeral today....I wonder if now isn't the perfect time for them to just all get together show their love for each other and clear the air (perhaps without Meghan's presence as she seems to inflame things).

I think it'll be telling how long Harry chooses to stay in the UK before he returns to the US (a clear indication of whether he's willing to hang around for a little while to mend fences or rush back home to Meghan and Oprah and Gail) I really wish the best for them all, family is everything but I'm not holding my breath.

What reports saying he was blanked?

Viviennemary · 21/04/2021 18:32

I read Scoble. has said he has had at least two private meetings with the Queen. Harry that is not Scobie though in sure he'd love one. I wonder who leaked that. Don't believe it anyway. Princess Anne blanked Harry too.

StormzyinaTCup · 21/04/2021 18:33

I would love to know whether H has spent any private time with the Queen at all

According to Omid Scobie PH met the Queen twice whilst he was over for the funeral (in his piece in Harper’s Bazaar today). I’ll leave it there Wink

Mummy194 · 21/04/2021 18:36

Don’t forget the judge in the ANL case on record as saying Meghan leaked to Omid Scobie.

Another clutch that people are holding onto, without asking themselves why MM was not then charged with perjury since she denied collaborating with OS.

So, I will explain again, since it's repeated on these threads. MM's employees co operated with OS (some of those employees are the ones who leaked stories about H&M and now work for W). Because they were representing MM's office, then MM is seen as collaborating in the eye of the law. To top it off, she never fired these particular employees for what they did. That is another reason she could never do anything about the lies printed about her in papers (except the letter which is a different case).

LuluJakey1 · 21/04/2021 18:36

@MoChridhe

You didn't mention his son Archie. He has to go back to him. You didn't mention his job, he had to go back to that as well. How much time off do you get from your employer when there is s bereavement in your family? He hasn't the luxury like the rest of the royals who still get access to our money regardless of how much they do. He has a job to get back to unlike the others.
Don't be ridiculous- he does not have a job. He is being paid a large sum of money to join an occasional meeting for publicity. Do you imagine he is getting up at 6am to shower, dress and be at his desk by 8am every day with 28 days holiday terms?
HeddaGarbled · 21/04/2021 18:43

why MM was not then charged with perjury

Perhaps the judge’s wife went to school with her auntie’s nanny who was taking kickbacks from a woman who snogged a journalist in 1990 🧐

Roussette · 21/04/2021 18:46

Where are all the reports that everyone blanked him? Princess Anne, the Wessexes etc.
How does anyone know?
It sounds to me like the press were pissed off that Harry, W&K seemed to be chatting fine after the funeral, so they moved to saying this.

derxa · 21/04/2021 18:46

This is getting ridiculous now. Has this Scobie person wired up the Queen with a listening device? If I were her I would be going for very long rides on my horse or very long drives in the car to get away from the whole blooming lot of them.
Roussette · 21/04/2021 18:48

I think we can safely say that we don't know.

PicsInRed · 21/04/2021 18:53

@LadyEloise

If the affair rumours are true and he's a total idiot if they are I don't know how his wife stays with him. I couldn't. It would be very awkward meeting his very supportive inlaws.
The monarch has custody of the kids. That's GM in law, then FIL, then her own ex husband.

No assets or income of her own.

Her friends are HIS friends, his allies.

The press are with the RF, not outsiders.

I wouldn't want to chance those odds, would you?

mermaidsariel · 21/04/2021 18:56

@Lulu why did he have to get back to Archie? They have a nanny and an army of staff. I am sure M could manage one nearly 2 year old for a bit longer with lots of help.

ohforarainyday · 21/04/2021 19:14

SunbathingDragon and derxa I'm truly sorry that black women speaking up against racism fills you with such extreme rage that you need to continually lash out.

It's such a shame that being anti-racist makes posters targets for so much abuse and bullying here.

Using black people as props is racist. Period. William and Charles' PR stunts in the week following the interview have been very widely decried as racist by the black community.

The idea that both Charles and William just coincidentally had "pose with black people" in their diaries scheduled ahead of time is gullible beyond belief.

Exactly.

The same employees who Will and Kate hired, after a judge found that they'd collaborated with the press.

I've asked before why Will and Kate would hire staff with a proven history of being untrustworthy and leaking to the press, and the royalists go conveniently deaf and pretend I didn't say anything (which is surprising, considering the monitor and scrutinize my every word, and instantly jump on the tiniest error).

Funny that.

Do you think the 'black people used as props' were coerced or do you think they were pleased and honoured to be there? Who decides if they are 'props'?
ohforarainyday · 21/04/2021 19:22

Remember when Harry was being slated for taking a private jet to the south of France (like they don't all travel by private jet constantly) and William's response was to cancel his existing travel plans to re-book the entire extended family plus staff and security onto a budget airline with less than 24 hours notice, a stunt that required the airline to fly two empty planes the length of the country because they knew that photographers would be present and wanted their own branded planes in shot, then invited the press to take photos so they could run flattering articles about how wonderful thrifty William is compared to his awful planet-destroying pampered brother?

If William has the will and resources to pull off a PR stunt like that within 24 hours, there's no reason to assume it's beyond his staff to organise a visit to a black organisation in a week.

Yes she could but it is natural to want to be with your children. Has he gone back then? I'm not up to date with the comings and goings.

Roussette · 21/04/2021 19:25

Natural to want to be with your child and your heavily pregnant wife, yes.

Ocsetldil · 21/04/2021 19:25

Roussette

So the Queen sent him packing because she didn't want him there?

Hardly her style I would've thought.

How do you know how The Queen thinks? You don’t know, we don’t know, you say she didn’t but how do you know she didn’t?

Roussette · 21/04/2021 19:28

Of course we don't know. Same as we don't know that she sent him packing and given how so many posters talk continually about how stoic the Queen is, her fortitude, her manners and all the rest of it, it does sound unlike her character.
Neither of us know, I think we can agree on that.

As I said 'hardly her style I would've thought' I did not say she didn't. Stop twisting stuff.

An opinion on a forum shock horror!

Even the Queen has a limit, maybe with all that has gone on she reached that point and told everyone to 'go home and get the f**k out of my face' Smile

That budget airline stunt was the turning point for me. For a long time, I defended W&K as having nothing to do with any of this, and it was all made up nonsense from the press. But when he did this incredibly aggressive move against H, I was gobsmacked ! Up to this point H had done nothing publicly against his brother, at that point the scales fell from my eyes wrt W.

Even then, I thought K had been dragged along by W, imagine my surprise when she and Sophie were all sulky face at the commonwealth, if they act like that in a worldwide public event, what must they be like in private.

As for the PR stunts, even the royalists were begging them to stop. From the black friend from centre parks, to the one Ghanaian who works in the palace always name dropped, to the other black people interviewed by ITV, it was all so try hard and pathetic.

Viviennemary · 21/04/2021 20:36

I think William and Kate are doing a wonderful job. Kate looked so beautiful and dignified. Her manners and general bearing are impeccable.

GlencoraP · 21/04/2021 20:41

No assets or income of her own

Kate is worth several million in her own right not only because of her parents company but also from other family wealth , they were not quite so impoverished as the papers like to pretend .

Mummy194 · 21/04/2021 20:42
  • Black friend from centre parks is actually Centrepoint. Spell check.
Dentistlakes · 21/04/2021 20:55

Who really knows what went on. We can only speculate and say how we would feel in similar circumstances. I have to say if my brother did what Harry and Meghan have done, I can’t say I would be speaking to him any time soon. The fact they released the interview whilst Prince Philip was so ill in hospital would be the final straw for me I’m afraid.
