Thomas Markle......Meghan's father.

Don't know if anyone saw the interview with Thomas Markle on GMTV Tues morning. It depicted a frail, emotional man who desperately wants to reconnect with his daughter and see his grandson too. Yes his life is complicated and he alluded to this time and time again .

He repeatedly acknowledged he's done wrong, in the many media interviews he's given and what struck me was a man who is living a lonely life and may not have many years to live and reconcile the differences he and Meghan have.

My cousin taught Meghan in her high school in L.A. and speaking to her last night she recalls Thomas Markle as "a funny, generous, witty man constantly helping out with school plays and musicals. He was generous with his time and the teachers and students loved him, especially Meghan"

I can't see any hope of a reconciliation the way things currently stand.

Meghan said in her and Harry’s engagement interview that Harry had not met her father. So that’s what people have based their views on. Perfectly possible this is something else she “forgot” though.

Hmmm so I wonder why Sam and Tom junior saying they have met?. Do you think wicked Meghan forced her older brother and sister to say something that was not true

Unless she was prepared to put up with the usual abuse and the racist abuse on top it was not going to work.

They said Harry talked to Thomas a few times, what were those talks about? It was 6 months before the actual marriage. So maybe they did meet at some point. Maybe he asked over the phone and then did it formally in person later.

Who knows, but I am saying that it was out there that they met, so I don't see why people are so adamant that they did not meet at all.

Anyway, regardless, I am guessing these are the things that H&M find intrusive, so maybe they are not addressing it because it's no one's business for a start, and also a big deal is made of them doing things twice like getting married twice. So what if Harry proposed twice, and asked for her hand in marriage twice and they got married twice.

I read that he asked Doria for Meghan's hand. I guess she had her own personal reasons why she wanted her mother to be asked and not her father. In any case it's their decision and jot Tom's right to be asked.

Thomas kept on saying how embarrassed he was being portrayed. He seems to have been self conscience and embarrassed by his own looks/presentation. Maybe the story is true that he was the one who gave Harry the run around about meeting him, while Doria had no issues. It was also evident that he was giving the run around when he did not answer Meghan's txts. He was already supposed to be in the UK by the time of his hospitalisation.

Also, Thomas had no qualms with driving hundreds of miles to Oprah's house, without an appointment.

Exactly, they can ask Doria if they want. No one's business really.

Wow, how sexist of him that he thinks he should be asked permission for Meghan to get married. Maybe that's another reason why Meghan doesn't speak to him.
