Do you think Oprah didn't ask the right questions.

Lots of subjects were spoken about but I felt that Oprah could have asked for further information.

What questions do you think she should of asked.

My question is to Harry 'why didn't you get Meghan help with her MH if you are a loving husband'

My DB’s speech consisted of him saying that they’d got married in a registry office the day before and it turned out the celebrant was a friend reading out eastern quotes. We were jeffing peed off and felt cheated that the wedding we’d been invited to, spent loads of money and time on, wasn’t actually a wedding.

I find this a bit silly, honestly. They're inviting you to a celebration of their being married--who cares if the vows at the wedding are not technically legal?

Due to the pandemic, many people are in a situation where they may need to get legally married straight away but are hoping to have a proper "wedding" type celebration with friends once the situation has settled down--esp if they want to have kids soon and are not comfortable doing this without the legal protection of marriage. Sometimes visa issues also come up unexpected with international relationships and you may need to make things legal right away and then do the big celebration later.

This was 10 years ago.

Diptyque · 23/03/2021 07:48

And especially as they said in the speeches how special the Registry Office wedding was.

Diptyque · 23/03/2021 07:49

If we’d been invited to a celebration of their wedding, we would have accepted that. But we were invited to their wedding which turned out not to be a wedding.

EsmaCannonball · 23/03/2021 13:26

They'd been criticised over the lavishness of the wedding and there were several stories of pre-wedding tantrums over tiaras and vegan food. The 'we got married three days before that vulgar spectacle' story was intended to show that they were above such materialism and only invited Idris Elba and George Clooney to a multi-million people shindig because the little people demanded it. They forget that the super-rich snarking over being forced to spend public money on themselves is a terrible look. Give us the wedding money back.

Scoobydoobywho · 23/03/2021 13:48

They have now admitted to not getting married 3 days prior. I do wonder what else they are going to have to admit to lying about, when we get shown evidence to prove that they lied.

CallmeHendricks · 23/03/2021 15:13

Where have they admitted not getting married three days prior?

Lauren15 · 23/03/2021 16:10

They had to admit it because the Sun dug out their marriage certificate.
@EsmaCannonball agree with everything you’ve said. I couldn’t really square the obsessive need to handle Archie’s birth differently with wanting a big grand wedding like Kate and Wills (swapping heads of state for George and Oprah).

SoWhyNot · 23/03/2021 16:32

@CallmeHendricks

Where have they admitted not getting married three days prior?
Their spokesperson has said so. If you Google, endless media outlets are reporting it.

"Just the two of us in our backyard with the Archbishop of Canterbury."

Comedy gold.

Absolutely! Every time I replay that sentence in my head, I get the giggles!!!!
ImpatiensI · 23/03/2021 17:00

Their 'backyard'!!

Just chillin' with the Archbishop.. Wink

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 23/03/2021 17:07

If the Archbishop watched the interview, I would like to have been a fly on the wall when that bit came up.

He would have dropped his cup of tea down into its saucer with quite a bit of a clunk, I imagine.

There may have been a few naughty words too.

not hard to dig out, so I was a little surprised it did not happen earlier!!. names of people and a tenner and you can access any marriage cert in the country.
Lauren15 · 23/03/2021 18:17

I don’t know why the Sun had to bother. You can’t just get married in your garden here. ‘We just called up the archbishop .....’ What a load of codswallop.

ApplesPearsAndCrumble · 23/03/2021 18:19

That was it though. Anyone in the UK heard that bit and thought Hmm.

It's the narrative of a fantasist.

GoLightlyontheEarth · 23/03/2021 18:19

I think she confuses Disney films with real life.

Valmur · 23/03/2021 18:26

I would have asked: “If a letter from Meghan to her father was so confidential that it’s publication justified court action, why is it ok to talk about private conversations with Harry’s father?”

I’m actually starting to wonder if this is part of the problem.

Must have been a real hoot with those three! ..
Myphone · 23/03/2021 19:57

Well said @valmur.
I think what irks people so much about the couple is their hypocrisy. I feel sorry for them in a way, needing that attention.

Smokeahontas · 24/03/2021 14:22

@derxa

They wanted to cherished their wedding vows together privately. Do you read a lot of Mills and Boon?

Because the disclosure of one was not to their advantage and so they sued to their advantage and the disclosure of the other was to their advantage and so they went ahead.

It's all about them and their status as professional* victims
