Harry is to William what Princess Margaret was to the queen and . Margaret was pretty messed up I think.

BasiliskStare · 09/03/2021 11:54

@GoLightlyontheEarth - I just think such a high profile accusation should be investigated Maybe behind closed doors initially but honestly that is a really damning thing to have blowing in the wind. Or leave it and in 2 years time it is yesterday's chip paper Grin

randomer · 09/03/2021 11:56

Im shocked that 2 supposedly intelligent fully formed adults didn't do their homework. They could have bought in support , unlike 90 per cent of us.

Bibidy · 09/03/2021 11:57

I also think Meghan IS lying to say she never googled him, or did research. Who WOULDN'T make that minimal amount of effort, with all the info that would have been available?

Tbh I think her saying that just puts her in an incredibly bad light.

Either she did research beforehand, in which case she's lying now to make herself look falsely naive.

Or she genuinely didn't research anything which shows how unwilling she really was to take on the position she knew she was marrying into.

hellsbells99 · 09/03/2021 11:57

I think Harry and Meghan are as mad as a box of frogs.
One way to try and make sure Prince William doesn’t become King is to bring down the monarchy.

WireFan · 09/03/2021 11:59

JimmyTheBrave and I'm most surprised that Harry and Meghan seem surprised by that. Harry has lived it since birth and has his own record of racist behaviour and Meghan has as much access to Google and the media as any of us.🙄

miserablecat · 09/03/2021 11:59

On the bridesmaid's dresses, I thought one particular example of Oprah's sycophancy was that she didn't say well Kate had just had a baby so was possibly stressed/emotional due to that, and you were having the week before your marriage, so both of you may have been feeling not your most robust selves.

On a completely side note I was amazed at Kate's cream outfit at the wedding literally weeks post partum. I was thinking about how awful it would be to on show, in a pale colour with potentially leaky boobs and (aherm) other leakage BlushBlush

But agree when one person is a new mum and the other is about to get married (on a world stage as it were) without knowing if your Dad is well enough to come to the wedding, I'm not sure you going to get the most rational of conversations/confrontations. I had a meltdown about a manicure in the week leading to my wedding , and my friend threw her toys out the pram about the bridesmaid having a change of clothes with them...and neither of us had the same emotional load as those 2.

However I would be pissed if it was made out that I was the aggressor when that wasnt the case.

Toptotoeunicolour · 09/03/2021 11:59

It takes a lot for me to feel sorry for Charles but I think he must be gutted, after all they did to make them feel welcome, gave them the commonwealth to work with etc., welcomed them into the family, massive budget for house/clothes etc., that they sound that bloody ungrateful. I think many parents would think not returning a few phone calls may give the adult child pause for thought and space to think about what they're doing.
Just the entitlement of, shock horror, having to dip into your inherited millions for living expenses, and claiming to know what we all feel like in lockdown, it was just staggering really.
I wanted them to be happy and feel free to leave and wished them well, but they have used up all that goodwill.

Abouttimemum · 09/03/2021 12:00

I just can’t get over the fact they left the UK because of racism. I don’t disagree that it happens here and yes, it’s awful. But out of the frying pan and into the US fire, where black people get shot in the face by white people for fun. Full of shite the pair of them.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 09/03/2021 12:02
@ThumbWitchesAbroad Just what 'photographic evidence' is that?
Shoulda read the article I linked to. It's in there.

BasiliskStare · 09/03/2021 12:07

Ok my post re Met police was over the top but I did think it was the most unkind thing they said to imply someone was racist but then say - we will not say who it was. So 1) if true the person can't defend themselves - though I expect never explain , never complain or 2) it wasn't how they have portrayed it. I thought that was worst thing they said because it will hang around for ages & no one can confirm nor deny. It's a bit - the more mud you throw the more of it will stick.

callmeadoctor · 09/03/2021 12:07

@CristalCarrington

He appears to have been drinking and comes across as an awful man. He says he will sell a story to the press about them every 30 days. After seeing him, it is very clear to see why she cut him off!
He doesn't drink. He is obviously unwell though, I was hoping that they would cut the interview as I was concerned Sad
Ohnomoreno · 09/03/2021 12:09

I believe that they believe it's the truth, because they have confused opinions and feelings with truth. Most of all though, I'm just tired of listening to very rich, beautiful, privileged people telling the world what to think.

GoLightlyontheEarth · 09/03/2021 12:09

@TorringtonDean

William will believe in continuing the family tradition because it’s been instilled in him. Kate is on board with that too, big time. Harry seems to have skipped any lessons about constitutional issues.
Yes I agree it will never happen. It was more a theoretical musing really.
Puzzledandpissedoff · 09/03/2021 12:11

Too many inconsistencies for my taste
They've all been discussed on here already so I won't rehash them, but while an occasional one might be passed off as a mistake, several start to look like people who can't get their stories straight

CocoPark · 09/03/2021 12:11

@Bibidy absolutely, you've articulated perfectly what I was getting at Smile

Lochmorlich · 09/03/2021 12:12

It doesn't matter what we believe, if they believe what they're saying then they will feel upset.

wewillmeetagain · 09/03/2021 12:15

@JimmyTheBrave

I believe them. I can't believe how outraged people are about these 'shocking' revelations in all honesty.

Controlling, dismissive and racist? Well yes, I'm more shocked that people are surprised.

Ok so how do you explain all the inconsistencies in their stories?
redspecial · 09/03/2021 12:15

as a side note, its been commented a lot that she is the first woman of colour in the royal family. Queen Charlotte anyone?

wewillmeetagain · 09/03/2021 12:17

Shes lying without a doubt. She said she had been friends with Eugenie for years, yet she didn't know who Harry was?
mimichou · 09/03/2021 12:18

I believe them. I think as someone who suffers from mental health issue, it’s not something you lie about. I know people who have lied about it and gotten into huge trouble for that. Since she’s such a high profile person, lying about that will do her little to no good.

I believe the racist allegations by the way. As someone who’s a POC, I get micro aggression attacks on an everyday basis where I live. To believe that some folks in the royal is not racist is just saying that they are sanctimonious beings. Lol.

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 09/03/2021 12:20

Nope.

tabulahrasa · 09/03/2021 12:22

“Shes lying without a doubt. She said she had been friends with Eugenie for years, yet she didn't know who Harry was?”

She didn’t say she didn’t know who he was... she said she didn’t research everything.

Presumably because she knew full well who he was and mistakenly thought she already knew about the royal family.

sadie9 · 09/03/2021 12:23

I can't believe they didn't do the photo opp on the steps of the hospital after having Archie because "nobody asked us".
That seems fairly unlikely.

Ilovedthe70s · 09/03/2021 12:23

My Nain always said when she was asked to resolve a dispute “ I’ll listen to both your stories then somewhere in the middle we’ll find the truth “
