If she’d had real depression and suicidal thoughts and couldn’t be left alone - there is NO WAY that she could have popped on her make up and a sparkly dress and gone to a public engagement at the theatre with the press. No way. With real depression it would not be physically possible to do that.

DS1’s friend and colleague committed suicide a couple of years ago. No one knew he had suicidal thoughts until he told his girlfriend, who was 300 miles away at the time, that he was going to hang himself that night. She called the police, who along DS1 (who is in the army and was on duty that weekend) broke into his room and cut him down. He died 3 days later. The poor lad had been at work every day, as normal up until then.

Many, many people slap a smile on their faces and carry on which is why it’s a huge shock to people when things like this happen. People like you we part of the problem.

My brother went to a party, all smiles, life and soul etc. Next morning he was found dead - he hanged himself. We humans have patterns for sure but they are many and varied.

There are lies somewhere about the so-called private wedding. You can’t have it in a private location and you can’t have it without witnesses. You also can’t remarry the same person, only have a blessing/confirmation which has to be handled differently. The wedding register would also have to bear the true date.

She also misled Oprah over the titles, claiming racism was the reason for it, which is a blatant lie.

Based on two things which can be objectively checked, and both are found to be either lies or wild exaggerations of the truth, I believe it casts genuine doubt over the truthfulness of the rest of the interview.

I believe there are scraps of truth but it’s largely all been embellished for their role as perpetual victims.

Also, aside from that, I think their claims of wanting to build bridges are a lie. You don’t do a hatchet job on your family if this is the case. Harry says his family are deeply scared of tabloid press - so he does this? Nice.

Yes the RF are racist. You only have to watch some YouTube clips of Prince Phillip to work that out. Yes they are obsessed with tradition and everyone knowing their place. If she had been less obsessed with claiming a title and more intent on finding out about the family then everyone would have been better for it.

@Toomuchtrouble4me whilst i’m sorry that you went through that, your experience doesn’t mean that everyone has the same experience of depression. Lots of people experience crippling depression and still manage to pretend in public. I have known two people who have taken their own lives and no one knew anything was wrong, not even close family and partners. Sadly this is a common occurance and saying that someone can’t be depressed because......... is a dangeous thing to believe.

It's hard to believe if Megan was suicidal that Harry would not have acted. It would be really interesting to hear the other side. What is mean-spirited is the public and self-serving manner in which they demonized his family. It's not a good look. It does not fit with their "virtue" brand..

Why would they lie about getting married 3 days before? Why would they disclose this if not true? If anything it wouldn't do them any favours as the public would get mad about paying for their 2nd unnecessary wedding?

I think the curtseying thing is really key to the whole issue. She thought (and Harry clearly didn't correct her) that the royal family are just celebrities so they act a certain way in public and with the "little people" but in private they're basically normal. But that's not the case at all. The monarchy requires total buy in to the hierarchy and traditions from all members. If they don't really believe in it why should we?

Prince Philip is 100 years old, I think it would be hard to find a 100 year old today that is not racist by out standards. That doesn't mean I agree with any racist remarks that may have been said but people banging on about Philip need to get a grip he is 100.

They got cut off financially because they said they were leaving the Royal Family to become Financially Independent....why does everyone seem to forgot that. They said that themselves, also the only way to have true freedom from such an oppressive situation would be to not accept financial help from them, if they were still giving you money there wod be rules attached to it, which they don't want.

In England you can only get married in a lincensed place and there would be a public record of it, there is no record of a marriage three days before...

If you stop being a ‘working’ royal (there are only a few), your security is no longer paid for by the people. They had a £50 million wedding and a beautiful house gifted to them, they were given the blessing of the Queen when they stepped back, left the country and stepped back again. I’m not fan of the royals, but I’ve never seen them bend over backwards so much in trying to appease two people

If there was an ounce of truth in that, it would have been exposed by now. How easy would it be for a fake sheik or similar, to get a DNA sample from a pissed Harry in a club in the old days, and prove paternity, one way or the other?
