@VanillaIce

Did anyone click the comment “I just love rescuing” when Oprah commented on the chickens. I mean, does she ever let up on the saintly narrative? That was a massive eye roll moment on our sofa. Who says that about themselves?

I’ve been a waitress, an actress, a princess and a duchess. Next stop beatification.

Confused Oh for goodness sake, you've really jumped the shark so far it's unbelievable. I really fear for you and people like you, it is so utterly unhinged to continuously look for a hidden message in every.....thing....she......says. You come across as obsessed and unhinged to the 90th degree. You are continually desperately look for something anything she says - any word, any syllable. It's obsessive and says more about you than her.
Roussette · 09/03/2021 15:24

Not just any word, any syllable, ... any look, any outfit, the shoes, the hat, the hair, the complexion, the way she walks, the smile, the no smile., what she does with her hands,, how she looks at him, how she looks at anyone else.... the list is endless

It is mighty peculiar.

Cokie3 · 09/03/2021 15:27

@MamaMeAh Did you watch the interview? She said curtsey in PRIVATE. Of course she knew (as she said herself) to curtsey in public at formal occasion. But she DID NOT KNOW (neither did I, till I watched that interview) that she had to curtsey in PRIVATE in a PRIVATE HOME. Like, the Queen walks into the kitchen or the tv room where only Harry and Meghan are watching tv, and Meghan has to stand up from the couch and curtsey? Behind closed doors! Who the f knew that? I certainly didn't! And I thought I knew everything about royal detail. So I'm not at all surprised that a yank didn't know.

And if you watched, you will have seen Meghan was referring to after Charles becomes King, not before. The RF changed the rules for that, suddenly, and without any warning. Only one reason for that - race. Ad no, I do not even slightly believe it was about 'slimming down' the RF. That sounds like very convenient B.U.L.L.S.H.I.T to me. But what a beauty of a 'cover'. So well-timed. How so ever very convenient! Yeah, and I'm the Pope. Hmm

Cokie3 · 09/03/2021 15:35

@Emeraldshamrock

^The thing about the baby's skin might have been an innocent comment.^ If it was said to Harry as something he should consider before continuing the relationship it was racist. I don't think it was said in any other way. I'm confused as to why people find this hard to believe, wasn't philip a raging racist. You learn what you are shown.
Yes, I think Harry would know what context it was said in.

My money is on Kate or Andrew.

PinkTonic · 09/03/2021 15:37

Prince Charles has bee on about this for years. He thinks only the direct heirs should be included and that hasn’t changed. Not suddenly or without warning and not actually done yet. He doesn’t believe his brother Andrew’s children should be HRH either but that wasn’t his decision.

@Ostryga

Oh stop with the armchair diagnosis fgs. A strong, confidant woman not putting up with the disgusting and despicable treatment of her and her family does not make a narcissist.

Can I point out (for the hundredth time) Meghan’s job, and the only way to make money is to do interviews, make podcast, make a deal with Netflix.

No one wants the U.K. to pay for them, so she’s got to make money somehow!

but everyone on here is making some sort of 'armchair' diagnosis, no?

No one wants the U.K. to pay for them, so she’s got to make money somehow!

Not quite. They don't want to be full time working royals, therefore they are free to make their money elsewhere. For quite how long they can make money out of the RF remains to be seen.

ImAncient · 09/03/2021 15:45

I knew you had to stand if the Queen walked in & curtsey.

Completely off tangent & outing me to all my cousins & family - we all had to stand up if either a guest or adult walked into the room & offer them our seat even if there was no one else in the room. Barking. Simply barking!

Absolutely! But it does if she is black. As this thread has shown.

If Meghan posted a thread in AIBU (without stating her race) that she is NC from her narcissistic and dysfunctional father and sister, and that her ILs treat her badly and her husband doesn't stand up for her, we'd all say she has a "DH problem".

Say she comes on later with an update, and says her DH has stood up for her, called his family for their treatment of her, we'd be praising her husband.

But because she is black, and an assertive woman, that translates to 'uppity black woman' in people's eyes and a lot has been said over the years about assertive WOC being called 'angry black women', 'uppity' etc. Add in being called a narc (with zero supporting evidence), you will never convince me this isn't a race-based form of misogyny where her only crime is being a 'loud, uppity black woman' who dares to attempt to defend herself and her family. If she were white, he assertiveness wouldn't be a problem. No white woman defending herself from the most abhorrent and horrific attacks, death threats and rape threats would be called a 'narc'.

Lets be honest; we all know it.

Very much so!

I think Prince Charles is totally correct in trying to slim down the royal family. There is absolutely no need for Prince Harry’s children to be prince and princesses. Look at all the trouble too many princes and princesses cause. Too many egos and entitled people. Far better to do what Prince Anne did and her children are much happier for it. Far better for Charles to tell Meghan of his intentions before she gets to excited about the idea of having children with Prince/princess titles.

Of course it is race related, we used to have this huge pool in my local area of Virginia that has been around for years, when segregation became against the law, and more people who were not white started using the pool, the owner of the pool decided to pour concrete the pool because he did not want to share it . He claimed it is costly to maintained but black people were not fooled. They know exactly why he did it. And they were absolutely correct because my husband’s grandfather used to work there and knows the person. He specifically told him that he didn’t want to share the pool. He won’t admit it in public but he will admit it privately. People today still debated why he did it (on Facebook) white folks say”no, he did it because it was costly to maintain” black folks say no he did it because of Racism. And they argued back and forth. But it is from racism.

When you see things start getting taken away once a black person enter a picture, and it happens way too often, you know it’s racism . It’s no coincidence.

Blueberries0112 you are projecting one scenario unto a completely different situation presumably because all white peoples are racist.

No, you are simply not listening.

It is the exact same scenario! You are just not listening.

MamaMeAh · 09/03/2021 16:04

@Cokie3, don't be so rude
Of course you are expected to courtesy to the Queen in private, she is the Queen. If you don't know how to behave or what is expected in certain situations you find out
It's common manners
No one has changed the rules regarding his title because of his colour, don't insult the Royal family by suggesting they have, that crosses the line
There have been many posts on here explaining the lineage, read them

Blueberries0112 · 09/03/2021 16:06

I am white, how do you think I know the truth about the pool. It is about people who constantly arguing with people who are black because they don’t want to believe it.

stairway · 09/03/2021 16:07

It really isn’t though, you believe it is. He walked Meghan down isle because her own father was too embarrassing. I think the tensions were already simmering by the point Archie came along. A slimmed down royal family means less bickering. Totally understandable.

Impatiens · 09/03/2021 16:07

No white woman defending herself from the most abhorrent and horrific attacks, death threats and rape threats would be called a 'narc'. Let's be honest, we all know it

But that isn't what's happening, and it's not 'honest' to characterise it in that way.

Excuse you! I am not the one being rude.

I and many, many British people have come out over the last 24 hours and said they never knew she had to curtsey in PRIVATE. Almost no one knew that, that is ridiculous.

And again, it has already been explained, the RF wanted to allow Charlotte, George and Louis titles, but 'conveniently' cut those titles off for Archie. So many people have explained that this is ever so CLEARLY about race, so just read them!

lunarlife · 09/03/2021 16:15

The pool analogy doesn't really work because PC has been going on about a slimmed down monarchy for years before Megan appeared on the scene.
It would make sense if it was only mentioned after she arrived.

But I don't think that means that Megan wasn't subjected to some racist micro aggressions and feeling sensitive and vulnerable hasn't assumed genuinely that this decision was a personal and racist one.

ImAncient · 09/03/2021 16:17

There is another in the telegraph but it’s behind a paywall so I’ve not linked.

RickiTarr · 09/03/2021 16:17

Race is part of the whole Meghan/Royal scenario for sure. There are obviously pockets of bigotry at the palace and I completely respect what @Blueberries0112 is saying about the swimming pool and how that works as a metaphor for lots of situations.

However, Charles and his mission to slim down” the monarchy to direct heirs only has been documented since the 90s, so I think he is in the clear there and there is evidence that he is probably the most inclusive thinker of them all.

What I want to know is who said the thing about skin colour, when did they say and exactly what did they say? That’s HUGE and I don’t understand all the posters who keep saying it could have been said in a “innocent way”. That’s bollocks. You don’t say that shit as a member of an all white family talking about a mixed race fiancé about to join your family. You just don’t unless you’re a racist. So if that is true, and it’s someone senior in the family, that’s going to blow sky high sooner or later.

Second thing i REALLY want to know is why isn’t Archie using the “Lord” title he was entitled to under the 1917 LP rules? The same rules that say he won’t be a prince until his grandad is on the throne? Because if that was Harry & Meghan’s choice not to have him be a Lord, then fine (maybe they said “Prince or nothing”?), but if that was imposed on them, then that smells bad too. I’m curious about that.

Cokie3 · 09/03/2021 16:20

It really is though, you believe it isn't. This 'slimmed down' bs (like the 'too expensive' pool scenario) is the biggest load of convenient B.U.L.L.S.H.I.T to come up. I cannot believe people actually fall for it. I mean, I can* believe it, given the posts by some on here, but still.....

If people believe it was solely about slimming down the monarchy and not race, then, I have a London Bridge to sell you.

Like in Blueberries' example, the white people were tripping over themselves to convince themselves and everyone that it was about the 'expense'. And white people on here are tripping over themselves to convince themselves and everyone else that it is the cost savings/slimming down of the Monarchy. Well, isn't that just soooo convenient. Such convenient timing? Yeah. Yeah right. As I said, and I'm the Pope. I'm the wrong sex and the wrong religion, but I promise, I am the Pope.

People who don't like Meghan will latch onto the 'slimming down' excuse, because it fits their narrative they choose to believe.
