@Chienloup B & E did until their 20s although lots of posters claim they didn't. Z&P didn't.

It does add up I guess, but I bet they would make enough in interest each year on their fortunes and investments to pay for it. Plus they "could" buy a modest house outright, live a normal life and their own real outgoing different to you or me would be security.

I don't disagree, they clearly want money for security & money for a luxurious life. So what? don't most Royals?

Loveacheekysausage · 08/03/2021 23:57

@Stovetopespresso

anyone else think it was William who made the how brown is your baby comment?

Me!!
@user1471448866 🤣. I was thinking very young, you were thinking very drunk. And we're both perfectly ghastly no doubt. And jealous bitches of course Hmm
Goes without saying - don’t have the beauty (might dispute the lack of personality😀) and certainly don’t have the Prince but cest la vie !

Emeraldshamrock · 08/03/2021 23:59

Then Harry comes into interview saying, no he didn't ask for help as it isn't the done thing and that he was ashamed to ask for help
He then said once the racism started he approached them saying this isn't the abuse you've all been through and got no help.

starfro · 08/03/2021 23:59

The Palace should call their bluff and launch an investigation into the alleged baby colour remarks.

That would force them to name the person.

I don't think it happened the way they describe, and was an innocent remark that was twisted into something sinister.

Why do so many posters say Harry is lying?

Emeraldshamrock · 09/03/2021 00:02

Originally when Meghan said it I assumed it was during the pregnancy.
Harry explanation made it sound like a chat before he got engaged.
I've no doubt that conversation was had early on a few times but before the marriage.
Well I hope so.

Furries · 09/03/2021 00:03

I haven’t RTFT.

I think the way some of the press treated her was terrible. But I also thought there was a lot of affection and hope when M&H got together - another sign of things moving on and improving, hope for the future.

Sorry, but as an independent woman, there is no way she wouldn’t have done the tiniest bit of online surfing in relation to her prince, his family or royal life. And, if she really didn’t, then she’s a blooming idiot.

For me, the biggest point is with regards to the colour of their baby’s skin. It is, and should be shocking. But it is marred by two things - firstly, the recall of when the comments were made (she said while pregnant, he said in the early days). Secondly - you don’t drop a half grenade like that, and then say you’re not saying anymore due to potential damage. Bloody call out the person, when it was said etc. They want to change the world, so start by challenging and calling out the one arena that you have intimate knowledge of - don’t just lob a half-arsed comment out there which now obviously has millions of online speculation comments across multiple platforms.

I was absolutely routing for them when they met, I loved the wedding and I really thought they could offer something new and fresh to the RF.

Kind of changing my mind now. And why on Earth was there literally no mention of relations with her family? It seemed a very one-sided interview - and I don’t believe they had no advance warning of questions. No matter how good an actress/actor you might be, not a single question seemed to take them by surprise.

I really hope this is done now. They have a new baby arriving in the summer, I hope all goes well and that they can settle down into a life away from the RF and pursue what makes them happy. That’s what they wanted. They now need to work towards that as a family.

Cokie3 · 09/03/2021 00:03

@oakleaffy She comes across as very genuine to me, but clearly you are determined to think she is 'manipulative' regardless. Hmm

Lipz · 09/03/2021 00:04

Lipz

The bit I'm confused about is Megan saying she asked for help, Harry asked for help for her, they both asked for help and we're refused. Then Harry comes into interview saying, no he didn't ask for help as it isn't the done thing and that he was ashamed to ask for help

Today 23:40SugarfreeBlitz

Yeah, he was ashamed to ask for help, why? She didn't trust anyone either. She might have been paranoid. He should have asked for her to be assessed

But what's confusing me is she went into GREAT detail about who she went to, how many times she asked for help, how she went to HR, made the point about her not being paid staff. How Harry did the same, then she said they both went and asked for help for her together but were refused and they both then reached out to Diana's friend. Then Harry comes out to join the interview and Oprah asks him the question about getting help and he says "No, I didn't ask anyone, it's not the the done thing, I was ashamed" etc

While it's rubbish he admits he didn't get her help, she said HE did ask the institution and the firm and was refused.

Justajot · 09/03/2021 00:07

They spoke a lot about security, without explaining the security risks they face. Quite possibly because an explanation would increase the risks.

There seem to be a significant number of people out there who dislike her. There are definitely racist nutters out there too, but obviously only a small number represent a physical threat. I bet the number of racist nutters who might actually harm them is uncomfortably high.

She and, through her, Archie are probably at significant risk. You can draw comparisons as much as you like with other minor royals who don't get security paid for, but I don't think the risks are similar because the vitriol from members of the public, fanned by the media, isn't comparable.

I think that their decisions driven by security concerns are legitimate. There was waffle aound them about titles and working part time which was distracting.

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 09/03/2021 00:08

Or they could launch a proper investigation into the Prince Andrew accusations. "Force" people to clear his name.

Oh, wait, fuck no!

Let's focus on Megan.

Niles crane is that you?

Emeraldshamrock · 09/03/2021 00:11

I don’t mean that in an unkind way. Like he looks to his family to sort everything, but why don’t you get off your backside and help her?
He put out 3 statements as a boyfriend, husband, father he got off his backside so much he it out of the country.

Emeraldshamrock · 09/03/2021 00:13

It definitely needs to be watched twice. Grin

Cokie3 · 09/03/2021 00:14

@friendlycat

I just cannot square their desire for privacy and hatred of press intrusion and their complete airing of all their dirty laundry to this extent on American TV. I cannot begin to think how disappointed The Queen and Prince Charles must feel in Harry.
@friendlycat You clearly don't understand consent. Wanting CONTROL over who interviews you and how much YOU choose to give is what they've been wanting. This has been explained over and over and over. Doing one interview to set the record straight and then hopefully have peace. Seems logical to me.

I also cannot begin to think how disappointed in his father, the Queen and the royal family Harry must be. They've let him down big time and been a huge disappointment to him.

TBF, I think the palace were wanting both things to quiet down. Maybe they’re looking into things behind the scenes, maybe not, but they don’t want the bad press from either situation.

Meghan arranged to be interviewed by Optah, though, whilst the sex tourist hebephile is still lying very low- he didn’t even appear in his DD’s wedding photos when they were released in lockdown 1. So they’re choosing their own levels of media exposure.

@ivykaty44

What has she actually done wrong?!?! I don’t get it

I thought she was fine, they left and wanted privacy

then tonight give this interview, and the more she talks the more I find what she says utter rubbish, for example about her son not being a prince, getting married 3 days before the wedding

You can't get married with just 3 and its illegal to marry twice for various reasons. The son being a prince seems to be pre destine due to being great grandchild.

Everything she's said makes sense and has been explained. And of COURSE you can get married twice! Ever heard of vow renewals? It is definitely not illegal to marry twice - that is ridiculous! It's illegal to be married to two people at the same time. But that's not what happened here.
Backstreetsbackalrightdadada · 09/03/2021 00:18

Emeraldshamrock right and what are statements supposed to do? What about lifting the phone and calling a doctor for help? Why does he think everything has to go through the royals? They managed to exit the royals ok, I’m pretty sure they could’ve called for medical assistance at any point for help. Statements oh as a father etc are typical of this bull grandiose approach. Statements achieve nothing, that’s not real support. Real support is helping your partner with real practical support in real time, not statements issued through your public office.

MarsandPluto · 09/03/2021 00:20

They clearly want to be the focus ,why else would they do an interview with Oprah Winnefry. If they don't like it, all they have to do is give up their titles and live as commoners. They want the titles to make money out of. To trade on their Duke and duchess titles. They should be stripped of all titles and Biden can give them some new ones.
