The bit I'm confused about is Megan saying she asked for help, Harry asked for help for her, they both asked for help and we're refused. Then Harry comes into interview saying, no he didn't ask for help as it isn't the done thing and that he was ashamed to ask for help

Today 23:40SugarfreeBlitz

Yeah, he was ashamed to ask for help, why? She didn't trust anyone either. She might have been paranoid. He should have asked for her to be assessed

But what's confusing me is she went into GREAT detail about who she went to, how many times she asked for help, how she went to HR, made the point about her not being paid staff. How Harry did the same, then she said they both went and asked for help for her together but were refused and they both then reached out to Diana's friend. Then Harry comes out to join the interview and Oprah asks him the question about getting help and he says "No, I didn't ask anyone, it's not the the done thing, I was ashamed" etc

While it's rubbish he admits he didn't get her help, she said HE did ask the institution and the firm and was refused.

I was really surprised when he said that he was ashamed to ask for help, given that he has been open about his own mental health in the past, and championed (or been patron of?) heads together which is a mental health initiative. She didn't want him to leave her that night because she was suicidal. If that doesn't force you to ask for help, what would?
teentipans · 09/03/2021 00:21

they want to make money to have security protection, why is that not ok?

OverweightPidgeon · 09/03/2021 00:23

I can imagine William having a conversation with Harry about rushing into marriage, being absolutely sure that he’s marrying the right person etc and that’s when the skin colour of the baby was mentioned.

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 09/03/2021 00:23

Of course.

I was just responding to @starfro.

It would be very foolish of them to get litigious over this considering everything else that's going on.

Backstreetsbackalrightdadada · 09/03/2021 00:23

As a side note... you either believe in equality or you dont. I’ve never been a royalist, the whole system is stupid. So I don’t know how Harry squares his talk about equality, with wanting anything to do with being in a royal family and being called a Duke and all that shit. The system that apparently ruined you is the system you’re clinging to still.... come to the light of the republican side! (Small r!)

How do you mean? How does skin colour of potential babies creep into the “is she the right woman for you?” conversation?

If William was a closet racist wouldn’t there have been hints by now?

It’s Harry who called people P+++ and R++ H+++

AIMummy · 09/03/2021 00:27

Have you noticed everyone on her side of the family have gone quiet in the last year or so. I wonder if MM did a deal with them some time ago and maybe that's why she didn't mention their contribution to media attacks on her?

Cokie3 · 09/03/2021 00:29

@theuncles

God it's so cringey! Why do people have to wash their dirty laundry in public? Harry is obviously completely brainwashed by an American, 'ooh we're all in therapy' let's share our problems culture, so embarrassing for them all! He's given up everything for her - if she ever gets bored of him and moves on he is so stuffed! I hope that won't happen, but it seems it's all on her terms?

I would have thought he'd have learned from his Mum's appalling public interviews - but obviously not. She at least was an innocent, young, naive girl doing her best - not a mature, hollywood ACTRESS!!

I couldn't believe when he started on about the RF doing deals with the press, and how he may have looked smiling in photos but never was happy in the past. Show some dignity, man..........

And as for her - how dare she feel suicidal over nothing worse than a bit of adverse press. I'm sure she's had that before. She hasn't lost her father (as many have) - she has chosen to go NC. She had a miscarriage - very sad - but so have at least 10% of the female population! She has financial security and a happy family. I suspect a lot of people both sides of the Atlantic will not be feeling too sorry for her!

@theuncles Wow. "How dare she" feel suicidal over 'nothing worse than a bit of adverse press'? What a nasty piece of work you are! How dare you suggest what a person 'can' or 'cannot' feel suicidal over, as if it's an active choice? Caroline Flack ring a bell to you?

The whole Samantha/Thomas Markle thing was covered. I think also in an outtake. It’s on YouTube.

😳

Is that meant to exonerate William?

The mind boggles.

Personally my money is on Charles and/or Camilla.

Emeraldshamrock · 09/03/2021 00:32

That is my take too.

It was published William did think Harry was rushing things they had the chat, now it appears someone mentioned the future DC skin tone as a deterrent or something Harry needed to consider before getting serious.

Dogatetheleftovers · 09/03/2021 00:32

Hasn’t Harry, in the past, said that he has had therapy to cope with MH difficulties? If that’s the case, why did he/they find it impossible to get help for MM when she apparently needed it?

Emeraldshamrock · 09/03/2021 00:34

Personally my money is on Charles and/or Camilla.
If I was to take a bet I'd bet a triple to win, it was mentioned more than once.

RickiTarr · 09/03/2021 00:35

@AIMummy she talks about her family here:-

TaylorSwaft · 09/03/2021 00:35

In April 2019 there was an announcement on their Sussex Royal Instagram page that Harry was teaming up with Oprah to talk about mental health issues and lots of words about how important it was to address MH and - well have a look and read.

Timing wise it is now quite striking given what was going on at the same time.

I've gone from not being very interested in this to fascinated by it all.

I was looking for the huge 'manifesto' they wrote (it's not there) on Instagram after they left the RF in Early 2020. They dictated there what their security expectations would be. How Harry would always be Royal, can't really remember it all now but it was looooooooong.

OverweightPidgeon · 09/03/2021 00:36

@RickiTarr
I was wondering if William was trying to put Harry off from marrying in haste , maybe telling him to get to know her better and was making him aware of all the pitfalls of marrying a commoner and he said something along the lines of ’and what if you have children , what if they come out with dark skin ?’

Emeraldshamrock · 09/03/2021 00:37

why did he/they find it impossible to get help for MM when she apparently needed it? His advisors and family thought "suck it up we've all been there" instead of defending them and taking the impact seriously.

OverweightPidgeon · 09/03/2021 00:41

@Emeraldshamrock I’m not excusing whoever made the comment, it’s a horrible thing to say but I can imagine someone who is racist using it as a reason to think twice.

Jessica60 · 09/03/2021 00:43

Anyone remember Harry giving an interview when Meghan had spent Christmas with his family and said that Meghan really enjoyed it, she had said to him now she knows what its like to be in a loving family.
They are both liars . I don't get what she is playing at. She has money, she had the life she wants, dhy upset our queen.

Impatiens · 09/03/2021 00:45

If someone says, as advice on whether to marry a particular person, that the colour of their future children might be an issue - how is that not racist??

Apileofballyhoo · 09/03/2021 00:46

@OverweightPidgeon

Same thought crossed my mind. I feel that perhaps William was less than welcoming.
Blueberries0112 · 09/03/2021 00:46

If Harry seek help for himself for whatever reason doesn’t mean she is not good for him. Leave it alone.

Well that wouldn’t be very nice at all, would it?

William is someone who has made a point of saying he would support any of his DC who turned out to be gay. He seems forward thinking and liberal. He doesn’t strike me as someone who would consider dark skin a bad thing. Most people wouldn’t.

Furries · 09/03/2021 00:48

I’m going to call semi-bollocks on the passport/drivers licence comment. I can imagine they would be held securely - not the kind of thing you want to lose when out! So how did she manage to travel to her baby shower?

But the way that segment was phrased, really did make it sound like she was locked up. Personally, I’m more bloody concerned about Princess Latifa and the regime she’s grown up in and is still “kept safe by her family” in.

DioneTheDiabolist · 09/03/2021 00:49

She slayed the "Megan the Monster" myth that the palace peddled to the press to protect the paedophile prince. So I think the interview has served its purpose.🤷‍♀️

If she'd done an AIBU About My Inlaws, she would get 96% YANBU, multiple posts recommending NC and a few suggesting she has a "DH problem".Grin
