In the interest of keeping this thread on an even keel - I think the liberal use of "hate" is really unhelpful. It's being completely devalued as it's chucked at anyone who dares comment on someone else's behaviour (not just in this thread but on MN and social media generally). The only exception seems to be if they are white, male and heterosexual in which case they're fair game (unless they're Harry)
I don't hate anyone at all. Just because I think Harry might not be best placed to comment on voting doesn't mean that I hate him or Meghan.
In the same way, just because I comment on someone who is a particular sex, ethnicity, religious group, sexuality, gender identity doesn't mean I'm a misogynist, homophobe, racist etc. It's perfectly possible to be female/muslim/gay/transgender and also be an idiot. The two things are not (necessarily) related.
An example of this was a recent Twitter thread by Benjamin Cohen (editor of Pink News) which was followed on the FWR boards. He was having his arse handed to him on a plate but of course he tried to suggest that it was because his detractors are all homophobes rather than because he's a hypocritcal twat
