Meghan and Harry's new home in Santa Barbara

Well I've seen the news articles and their new home looks absolutely beautiful and a dream SB pad with the ivy clad walls, pool, tennis court etc. SB has gorgeous homes although very expensive and pretty unaffordable for the humble hoi pilloi. I think Meg has played a blinder. I truly hope their marriage lasts but if not she is in possession of some prime real estate and a neighbor of Oprah. It's also where so many politicians come through fundraising at private events, so if she is politically ambitious she is well situated.

However with 9 bedrooms and 16 bathrooms 😄 I really think they CANNOT lecture the world on cutting back and making do to save the environment in anyway!

I am sure DM readers will explode with jealousy and a collective gnashing of teeth. But they wanted her gone, and she has, to a beautiful ocean facing estate with year round sunshine. Good on yer Megs! Grin

Although I do blame Meghan. I think they are equally culpable.

iirc the KP apartment wasn't going to be ready for Archie's birth so that was partly why they looked elsewhere.
I wonder if the RF have a castles and apartments brochure that sits alongside the tiara and jewellery catalogue.

MoreHippoThanPenguin · 18/08/2020 14:11

I have never seen some of those nasty lies stories Bolt is referring to. I honestly don’t think they should be allowed to stand. It looks like they are taken from some other forum / bottom feeding gossip rags.

I doubt any of the British tabloids would touch them with a barge pole and that is not a high standard.

They could have done the same as William and Kate when George was born, and stayed in Nottingham Cottage until the apartment was ready.

I am still convinced that Meghan, and possibly both of them, got confused between Frogmore House and Frogmore Cottage

Frogmore House looks like a mini White House. It'd happily stay there Grin

Yes, I think Bolt has been looking at some very seedy reading material, or is alternatively just making stuff up to be disruptive. The post shouldn't stand when so many totally innocuous posts have been pulled. I think the moderators are ... erm.... inconsistent.

Maybe they leave these things for a bit so they've got an excuse to pull a thread later on, when they get a bit windy or Meg gets on the blower

Welcometothelifeboatparty · 18/08/2020 14:39

Also, if someone could possibly PM me and tell me where are these other forums that you speak of? Because I'm a bit fed up of us being told off.

Ta in advance. prays fervently that it isn't Facebook

I'm at a loss to understand why my comment was deleted?
Is it because I believe Harry is at fault and now Meghan?

“Yes, I think Bolt has been looking at some very seedy reading material, or is alternatively just making stuff up to be disruptive. The post shouldn't stand when so many totally innocuous posts have been pulled.“
I reported the post by Bolt that had the worst rumours and it was deleted almost immediately.
I suggest users report these wild remarks when they see them, whether they’re said by supporters or critics of the Duchess of Sussex.
The supporters have not hesitated to hit the report button. Others should do the same.

SusansSassySidePony · 18/08/2020 18:32

I always reported too.

@MoreHippoThanPenguin what on earth was said?! My imagination is running in overdrive! You are right though- I want to discuss the important salient issues around H and M not read lies and fantasy.

Welcometothelifeboatparty · 18/08/2020 19:30

Blimey I've been deleted! Can't even remember what I said. There was something about MN spraying deletions around but I've forgotten the rest

Welcometothelifeboatparty · 18/08/2020 19:31

But I guess I've just been proved right howeverfleetingly 😂

It's mentioned several times in finding Freebies how small Nott Cott is. The second bedroom wasn't big enough for all Meghans clothes. Such a hardship.

Has the news thread been deleted. Been out all day, thought I'd make a cup of tea and sit down to catch up and POW! It's gone?

TheNewLook · 18/08/2020 20:56

That bit about giving disposable hand warmers to the palace guards! 😆 what an embarrassing thing to do/have done to you.

Talk about Lady Bountiful. Did she send out the scraps from their meals as well?

OverUnderSidewaysDown · 18/08/2020 20:58

They’re deleting so they can say “Oh there were so many deletions it was a bunfight so we are going to delete the whole thread”.

starsinyourpies · 18/08/2020 21:05

I would LOVE to have his and hers bathrooms.

MissEliza · 18/08/2020 23:24

I have three men in my house. I'd give my right hand for his and hers bathrooms!

slithytoveisascientist · 19/08/2020 00:33

Kind of off topic but I am absolutely gobsmacked by how appalling the writing is in that book. Is that the authors’ usual style?

TheNewLook · 19/08/2020 01:38

The writing is so bad, but it’s exactly how I imagine Meghan’s diary entries would read.

Hmm...

GeorgeMichaelsEspadrille · 19/08/2020 05:50

I wonder if Harry has actually read the book.... I can't imagine my DH's response if he read something like this, knowing that I had supplied the detail. He'd be horrified/amused/slightly scared and I'd be mortified!
