Well I've seen the news articles and their new home looks absolutely beautiful and a dream SB pad with the ivy clad walls, pool, tennis court etc. SB has gorgeous homes although very expensive and pretty unaffordable for the humble hoi pilloi. I think Meg has played a blinder. I truly hope their marriage lasts but if not she is in possession of some prime real estate and a neighbor of Oprah. It's also where so many politicians come through fundraising at private events, so if she is politically ambitious she is well situated.

However with 9 bedrooms and 16 bathrooms 😄 I really think they CANNOT lecture the world on cutting back and making do to save the environment in anyway!

I am sure DM readers will explode with jealousy and a collective gnashing of teeth. But they wanted her gone, and she has, to a beautiful ocean facing estate with year round sunshine. Good on yer Megs!

In big mansions some bedrooms have two bathrooms (his and hers). So maybe a couple of those, staff/guest bathrooms, one at the pool house and one at the tennis courts?
These two are so ridiculous- I cannot believe anyone is still defending them. Quite a pair of environmentalists they are.

I don't think the house is that special at all, just very average.

People think they haven't paid for Frogmore because an official statement said they'd pay it off over the long term.

I don't take much notice of their doings but their house purchase was in the British and American news so I noticed it!

I have to admit that I was slightly at this extravagant mansion, given that they want to be financially independent. The running costs and annual property taxes will be quite substantial - the property taxes on our house are several thousand a year and we're hardly in a mansion.

I doubt Harry has any clue about finances, but Meghan has surely paid her own bills and realizes they'll need to be making alot of money to maintain it.

Plus I believe Prince Charles helped them buy it so they're hardly making a step towards independence yet!

I can't bear the behaviour and hypocrisy of the pair of them, but I think Doria is pretty smart. If I was Doria, I'd prefer to have the independence of using a granny annexe so I could come and go as I pleased.
My guess is she'll have kept her own house and life and can dip back and forth to suit.

Apparently Charles offered to buy them a country estate in the UK before things went pear shaped but they refused so I wouldn’t be surprised if he helped them buy this place instead. Would love to know what the other members of the royal family think to their choice!

The Santa Barbara property has to be worth heaps more than Anmer. No idea, but my best guess would be something like £4 or £5m for Anmer, but I get the feeling W&K wouldn't be bothered by that and they've made privacy and a family home their top priority for Anmer.

This is the worst possible timing for them to announce they have bought this ridiculously expensive house. Between the pandemic and recession nobody wants to hear their constant complaining and see the vulgar flaunting of obscene wealth.

is it the same house that they looked 1-2 years ago? its pictures were on papers i remember. it was mentioned they liked it very much.

They can do And say what they want as private citizens.
If they still want to take any benefits from being connected to royalty then they should stfu.

Charles didn’t help them with the purchase. That’s been officially denied.

Property records are public record in America. Anyone can view the records for the property and see how much Harry and Meghan put down as a down payment and how much their mortgage is.

It’s an enormous mansion with a movie theatre, extensive grounds, and multiple separate guest houses. Doria’s not in a “granny annexe” .

They managed to keep their new house a secret during the entire process of house-hunting, buying, moving, and for two months after they moved in. Pretty private. It’s not their fault the British press and some of the British public is still so utterly obsessed with them.

Besides the “privacy” thing is BS. They never claimed to want privacy for themselves, only for their baby, and they certainly never said anything about planning or wanting to disappear.

Lol. The 10-bedroom Anmer Hall is currently valued at £30 million, more than twice what Harry and Meghan’s new house cost. Not to mention the £1.5 million William and Kate spent on refurbishing it.

Of course £1.5 million is a bargain considering William and Kate’s 20-room Kensington Palace apartment cost £4.5 million in refurbishments when they moved in.

All the royals houses are off the scale, I mean look at Sophie and Edwards pile.

I don't think anyone anywhere cares anymore.
