Starting this thread while I digest the last few posts on the previous thread. I think the H&M saga could be as unsettling for the RF as the Charles & Diana bad publicity in the 1990s, if not worse.

I've always had a strange liking for this one, worn by the Queen of Bhutan

I love the aquamarine one! I have an aquamarine ring I bought with some money left to me from my grandad, it's his birthstone. I think it's a very underrated stone!

The Queen of Bhutan is very beautiful. I'd look like I was wearing a flowery headscarf with my rollers underneath a la Hild Ogden if I attempted that look.

The embroidered fabric tiara looks wonderful.
I also like Queen Jetsun's bandeau tiara and these earrings.

I don’t really understand why H&M don’t just give up the Sussex title, in a way it closes doors for them making money, they can’t really cash in on the kudos of it, if they dropped it Meghan could then pursue all the commercial enterprises she wanted to, Harry as a born Prince would not be able to, but the world would be her oyster, yes she is still cashing in on her royal connections and we would all be a bit 🤔about it, but the rest of them such as Zara are all at it, there is no way she would have been advertising Rolex watches or Range Rovers if she wasn’t granddaughter to the Queen, but to be fair if I was in their position I would do the same, I can’t really blame them they are just dealing the hand they have dealt and the Queen must be ok with it as she has not put a stop to it. If I was Meghan I would revert back to being Meghan Markle and bring out a high end fashion line or be the face of Dior or Chanel or some other designer, I have read she is relaunching the Tig so I think she will do something along those lines. I think she will do very well, Harry not so much.

But Meghan wants it all. She wants HRH, the royal treatment, the bodyguards, the curtseying, the jewellery, the multi million pound wardrobe.

And the Vladimir tiara! Where will it end? I’m not sure she will be happy until she’s President.

I’m not sure Dior or Chanel would want her for advertising. Frankly, she’s too old. Do they have brand ambassadors? She’s more likely to get given stuff like Zara. Or get given Zara.

Delurking to say that Mrs Greville (famed for the tiara and other jewels) is one of the women featured in this book Queen Bees which looks at the lives of society women in the early 20th century. It's a while since I read it but I seem to remember Mrs Greville had an unconventional start in life but did well for herself. It's an interesting read if you're interested in that period of history and high society

Mrs Greville was the daughter of a very rich brewer. She married up and with the money and husband managed to get into high society. That probably explains why she was looked down on by the aristos (not unlike the Middletons).

I wish they’d moved to Bel Air and then Harry would be the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. And I bet Bravo TV is constantly on the phone trying to sign them up for a reality show.

But Dior (I think) recently had charlize Theron in their advertising and she must be a similar age - just checked 44. As well as Keira knightly who is definitely younger but must be in her thirties, yes she's 35. So I think M could definitely do some high end perfume ads.

Both Charlize Theron and Keira Knightley are award winning actresses and were both previously models.

The only selling points that Meghan had was as a cast member of a cable tv show (albeit a successful one) and marriage into the royal family.

Why would that appeal to one of the large luxury fashion houses??

They have divested themselves of HRH so January is irrelevant.

In my opinion MM does not come close to the career achievements of these women. Unless you count marrying well as an achievement.
