What Anne did is irrelevant.

Ok, except it wasn't when people were saying 'other royal women didn't have to do this!' Then the comparison was relevant, apparently.

And no one is going to defend the phone call to the nurse. That's irrelevant to the issue of posing for a photograph.

Samcro · 23/06/2020 11:52

other royal women did it. but imo that doesn't mean "new " ones need to.

miri1985 · 23/06/2020 13:41

I think the idea of a woman posing for the world's media is horrific. I don't know how Kate did it.

I remember seeing KM on the TV after giving birth to George, I had never seen anyone so soon after they had given birth, I never realised how pregnant you still look afterwards.

You always see photos a few weeks after celebrities have given birth and they're super skinny or you see a friend or relation a while they've given birth and they're usually a bit heavier but they don't still look pregnant.

I know people think it was terrible and unfeminist of her to pose so soon after giving birth but I thought it was brave of her to do it and show this is what even a skinny woman looks like after giving birth, you still look very pregnant for a while

Yes I've known of people to combine a CS with a tummy tuck. It's a very stupid thing to do when the body should be given a chance to recover from nine months of pregnancy.

Roussette

Lady Campbell being interviewed on This Morning.

Lady Colin.

Kokeshi123 · 23/06/2020 15:24

I have heard that the tummy tuck during CS is a complete myth---you cannot perform a TT at that time, because you have to wait for the abdomen to shrink back first before you can actually judge how much to tuck and how.

I did some research and was struck by the fact that Princess Margaret had a cesarean section in Kensington Palace.... seriously, surgery at home? That's kind of bizarre. It was an elective CS so she knew she was having one.

Sittingontheveranda · 23/06/2020 15:36

How can it be irrelevant not to perform for the people who have attacked you for months on end? I believe M&H made the right decision for themselves.

thisenglishlife · 23/06/2020 15:40

I've heard of elective cesareans a month before the due death - in order to avoid the extra weight gain that occurs during the last few weeks (amongst wealthy American women).

MrsFogi · 23/06/2020 16:08

I have a friend whose mother got her fitted for a corset very early on in her pregnancy so that she could wear it after the birth to she returned to looking "presentable" immediately - apparently that was what all of her family/social circle did!!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 23/06/2020 16:13

was struck by the fact that Princess Margaret had a cesarean section in Kensington Palace

For that matter so did the Queen when Charles was born - except in Buckingham Palace of course - and George VI's lung removal was also done there. The Queen's own birth was also said to have been a caesarean delivery, at Bruton Street which was a family home of the then Duchess of York's parents

It seems that, back in those days, the RF simply didn't go into hospital among the oiks, and money would hardly have been an object when setting up an operating theatre "at home"

calmcoolandcollected · 23/06/2020 16:17

@Samcro so she doesn’t even know them!!

Well we should tell all authors not to bother with biographical works, then.

Ron Chernow didn’t personally know Alexander Hamilton. I guess I should discard his biography. Andrew Hodges, forget about Alan Turing’s tragic life. How could we view anything written as relevant given you didn’t know Mr. Turing personally?

I suppose no one should ever consider writing a biography again.

cheers for tagging me.
I was not the one pointed that out. was just shocked.

calmcoolandcollected · 23/06/2020 16:26

You did post what I bolded, in response to another post. I can only assume that represents your view.

MissEliza · 23/06/2020 16:37

@Kokeshi123 I used to live in the Middle East, where I heard those stories and I believe there are unscrupulous doctors who would do that.

Roussette · 23/06/2020 16:51

Lady C then... don't think it matters much does it? On here we talk of M&H, or H&M, should I refer to them in full too Grin

And as to whether she knows M&H, or even met them... she's digging the dirt, that's about it.

Roussette · 23/06/2020 16:56

It is amusing to put the biography of Alan Turing, that inspiring man, alongside a biography by Lady C designed to dish the dirt on the Queen's grandson and his wife, what a comparison, you gotta laugh

YouSayWhat · 23/06/2020 17:46

So, did Harry come back to the U.K. then?

Sousone · 23/06/2020 17:52

you gotta laugh

Have you?

I’m still waiting for EVERYONE TO ADMIT THAT MEGHAN GLOWS FROM WITHIN JUST LIKE DIANA DID

Grin just kidding of course.

Onprozacandmyhighhorse · 23/06/2020 18:03

I've just finished Lady C's book about Princess Diana. I take exception to be called."stupid" by some pond life on here. I found the book to be very fair. Other biographies I've read tend to be either pro or against Diana or Charles or whoever but I thought Diana's book was very measured and understanding.
Lady C has a strange way of writing but apart from that I definitely wouldn't say it was a hatchet job or tore Diana to pieces. But what would I know? I'm stupid.

mrscampbellblackagain · 23/06/2020 18:13

My hairdresser did Meghan's hair for the photos post birth with Archie. He was annoyingly discreet though Grin

Personally, I think when she did it was probably harder - day 3 (I think) was very emotional for me as milk coming in etc.

All very much the nature of the deal with the devil that Kate and Meghan have done in terms of marrying into the RF. Maybe if the RF was self funding people wouldn't feel entitled to their pound of flesh.

I think it's a bit different talking about someone long dead, a historical character, having a biography written, and someone who, so say, moves in royal circles (LadyC) writing about a young couple who were within the RF.
