So what did Charles say? You say it was recorded, that would be interesting

Charles going up to Harry and saying something in his ear was recorded, with Harry and Meghan leaving immediately after that. What Charles said was not recorded, as it was whispered into Harry's ear. But it's very clear they were asked to leave. Why is a mystery.

LightasLife · 12/06/2020 20:33

Perhaps Light she was copying a child she was interacting with maybe, who knows.

She caught a child on two separate occasions, one from a raised platform?

It's not that serious surely....

I never claimed it was.

SunbathingDragon · 12/06/2020 20:34

@ARoseInHarlem

Sticking your tongue out like that is a bit puerile, but not worse than Zara flashing her tongue piercing imo. Not something to get kicked out of an event for.
Zara was a child at the time as it was the summer holidays when she was at boarding school and as I recall, it was a side shot of her talking that showed her tongue bar.

I have taken my own advice and googled, so I can confirm there are lots and lots of pictures of Meghan sticking her tongue out and an article where a body language expert says she believes Meghan does it to relate to others and look playful/fun. Apparently Diana did something similar (although I cannot recall this and haven’t googled back that far).

Tongue photos are split second photos and none of the Meghan photos are a rude sticking out. We put our tongues out briefly (and often unknowingly) all the time - concentration, nervousness, to show empathy or friendliness, to lick our lips, when we're hot or tired, opening our mouths a bit wider than normal...

If you look at photos of Kate it could seem like she has her mouth open wide all the time - huge grin, gurning even... Except if you watch videos, it's not the case, it's just a few seconds.

I don't think it was anything to do with her sticking her tongue out. I think that photo was seen and then people assumed that's why they were asked to leave.
I read somewhere (don't ask me for the source because I can't remember where I saw it, but I did see it) that they hadn't actually been invited to/expected at that garden party, they gatecrashed it, and Charles was annoyed about them working the crowd and taking the attention away from him. It was his 70th birthday I think.

Samcro · 12/06/2020 20:48

Well she is smiling and looks more playful than mean.
Are people not allowed to have fun now.
And who know Pc might have been just telling H that his car was there, maybe they had somewhere elese they had to be.

LightasLife · 12/06/2020 20:52

@thisenglishlife, Meghan Markle's tongue photo at the garden party was deliberate. I don't think it was directed at Camilla, as has been reported, though.

thisenglishlife · 12/06/2020 20:52

Looking at all the Meghan tongue photos, none of them had the tongue out all that far.
Conscious and on purpose tongue tongue sticking out is where the tongue sticks out much more.
The Charles party one looks completely innocent, the church walk one is 'worse', but still not bad.

Mummy195 · 12/06/2020 20:55

It's all about context, angle and as English said, a split second. You cannot see who she is sticking her tongue out to.

I remember an RR saying that for when H was young and for Charlotte too, the photographers would call out their names and stick their tongues out, and the royal kids would do it back to them.

I think there's a big difference between the Meghan one and the other three. Meghan's tongue isn't even that out.

No, it was far too long for that. It was apparent in the body language that something more was going on.

I don't believe Harry and Meghan crashed the garden party, as Harry spoke there.

The video that I posted up thread looks innocent enough to me.

@thisenglishlife why are you comparing photos of royal children to adults? It’s completely different imo.

thisenglishlife · 12/06/2020 21:04

@Samcro

She's not to do Africa-based charity work if she doesn't live there according to to this thread. She's not allowed to have a charity or live in a big house either EthelMayFergus thinks she's "consumed with jealousy" of her sister in law FruitPastillesaregood thinks she wants to cause trouble in order to feel better about what has happened Viviennemary thinks Meghan and her friends are behind the weird Kate Tatler article (even though it was full of the same gossip and nonsense that was around years before Meghan was with Harry)
Samcro · 12/06/2020 21:04

If they were asked to leave, that would have been very rude.
If they did gate crash, hardly Meghans fault.

thisenglishlife · 12/06/2020 21:05

why are you comparing photos of royal children to adults? It’s completely different imo. I'm not saying it's bad, it's to illustrate that with a genuine tongue sticking out, the tongue sticks much further out. Meghan's tongue was not sticking out far.

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 12/06/2020 21:09

Oh I see.

I’ve rewatched the video- it still looks amicable to me. I don’t think it’s Harry saying anything about cameras? I could be wrong but I really don’t see anything to write home about. 🤷🏻‍♀️

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 12/06/2020 21:11

Mind you is anyone else watching that video & thinking why aren’t they social distancing?? Or probably just me Grin

FruitPastillesaregood · 12/06/2020 21:15

I don’t see any hint of bad feeling between them. They seem to leave quite happily. I don’t see the issue.

thisenglishlife · 12/06/2020 21:18

I don’t think it’s Harry saying anything about cameras
It's someone else saying it (one of or near the photographers or camera operators), but Harry is speaking at the same time.

The volume of Meghan's, Harry's and Charles' voices are much lower than that in the video. So why would Harry say that bit loudly?

LightasLife · 12/06/2020 21:18

If they were asked to leave, that would have been very rude.

Why would it be rude? You can't possibly know that without knowing what precipitated the request.

Mummy195 · 12/06/2020 21:19

Don't think ppl social distanced before Covid. Grin

caperberries · 12/06/2020 21:20

Well it will be interesting to see what Lady C comes up with by way of explanation in her book

Sittingontheveranda · 12/06/2020 21:22

it would have been far better for them to move to Africa

This came up while they were living in the U.K. and also frequently runs through the threads. Africa is deemed the best place for them because they would receive less media attention, thinly veiled expressions of it’s good enough for them, and it is colonial. The suggestion has little to do with what H&M could do there as long as they are sent to cove try there. It is racism.
