New thread

Has anyone seen that Lady Colin Campbell has written a book on Harry and Meghan using insider information. Apparently she’s has members of the Markle family to stay. She’s brave!

I'm very grown up, thank you. Maybe not always mature, but I'm perfectly happy, with or without your endorsement @Mamamia456.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 13/05/2020 17:46

I don't mean at his own wedding. I meant at William's wedding

I know you did, MIssEliza - after all you also mentioned James Middleton's reading and he didn't do one at H&M's wedding, so I'm not sure why PPs thought you meant Harry's own

And yes, hungover was the word

HermanHermit · 13/05/2020 17:57

They need to be very careful about what’s in the book about her father and the wedding given the lawsuit is ongoing and is unlikely to be concluded by 11 August. Mail on Sunday lawyers going to have 29 copies delivered for publication day and be all over them with a red pen

WinnieTheW0rm · 13/05/2020 17:59

Why 29???

EthelMayFergus · 13/05/2020 18:02

Probably 29 members of staff/lawyers going through them simultaneously? Does seem a bit random.

HermanHermit · 13/05/2020 18:02

Fat fingers! Was meant to be 20 - they’ll have their entire team on it looking out for inconsistencies with their pleadings / evidence that they’ve voluntarily given up privacy / etc etc.
Also just notice that clever Lady C’s publishers have her book out 6 weeks ahead of the official one

TimeLady · 13/05/2020 18:08

Will there need to be a last minute rewrite to counteract the claims in Lady C's book? Timing would be very very tight (except in the Kindle version!) but I suspect that was deliberate.

Oldbutstillgotit · 13/05/2020 18:11

@ Mamamia456 I am sure I read that he admitted to being hungover .

Puzzledandpissedoff · 13/05/2020 18:50

Clever Lady C’s publishers have her book out 6 weeks ahead of the official one

That probably explains why Meghan's said to be keen for quick publication, but it was a good point about the upcoming hearing and what effect the book's contents might have

No doubt, if anything turns out to be inconvenient, she'll claim to have known nothing about it ...

LittleBearPad · 13/05/2020 20:00

He was a bit of a mess at Williams’s wedding. His uniform didn’t fit properly either

Mamamia456 · 13/05/2020 20:45

LittleBearPad - I think that's just how some military uniforms look, quite bulky. Prince Harry's sleeves were long but so were William's.

HarryDaylight · 13/05/2020 20:59

Both Harry and William's military uniforms would have been made to measure, like all miltary dress uniforms.

Binglebong · 13/05/2020 21:00

I think that serious photo is sweet - the way they are holding hands despite obvious tension is lovely.

Becles · 13/05/2020 21:35

@wombandovaries

I think the pastor is a bit of a metaphor really for Megs joining the RF. He was completely OTT to upper class British sensibilities. Meghan thought he was entirely appropriate. The pattern was set then IMO

The pastor is the USA equivalent of the archbishop of Canterbury. Whatever you say about him, as the first black man in the post he will be 40% more qualified than his nearest rival. Implying he's someone she dug up or was an inappropriate choice is grossly offensive and says much about the person sneering.

Becles · 13/05/2020 21:51

@ARoseInHarlem

Inspirational quotes, zoom interviews, faux sincere speeches to a room full of experts about stuff you don’t actually know anything about - this isn’t doing good. It’s a distraction and insulting to those who do actual work

So this applies to pretty much every other member of the royal family then.

Becles · 13/05/2020 21:52

@Teddy1970

MM had a whole area of Wimbledon cleared because she didn't want to be near the general public, it's actions like that piss people off, it gives us a glimpse into what kind of person she is, she really didn't help herself in endearing herself to the public with her diva behaviour on that day

That has been repeatedly pointed out (on these threads) as untrue. It was confirmed that MM had nothing to do with the LTA decision not to open the members area to the general public when ticket holding members didn't attend. Do you continue to repeat a lie over and over again as part of showing how awful she is or some tabloid agenda of deliberate character assassination?

Becles · 13/05/2020 21:57

@Mummyoflittledragon

However I would feel pretty eye rolly at a woman, who had turned her back on her religion to become Jewish then invited a minister from her former religion to preach at her wedding

Lots of posters have advised that MM never changed religion. Why continue to reiterate this false lies? How is this different from the relentless lies they claim were in the daily mail?

ARoseInHarlem · 13/05/2020 22:00

@Becles

Yes, it applies to them all, except when they do actually know what they’re talking about. Which, at times, all of them do.

If you’re looking to show an unfair bias against H&M you’re not going to get it from me. They’re the second worst of the lot imo, and even the best should be abolished.

Viviennemary · 13/05/2020 22:12

I read that the Wimbledon officials said she was a nightmare with her demands. And they have had royalty and vips but never anybody like her.

Mamamia456 · 13/05/2020 22:23

Viviennemary - What demands and where did you read it?

Viviennemary · 13/05/2020 22:41

Are you Meghans lawyer or something. Not saying. You'll need a subpeona. Grin

SunbathingDragon · 13/05/2020 22:57

Clever Lady C’s publishers have her book out 6 weeks ahead of the official one

That probably explains why Meghan's said to be keen for quick publication

I wonder whether she is also concerned people will read the first one and then not bother with the second one.

No LA glitz or glamour (or job opportunities) for at least the next three months

Los Angeles County’s stay-at-home orders will “with all certainty” be extended for the next three months, county Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer acknowledged during a Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday.

I feel sorry for the nanny if it's the same one they had in the UK. Stuck on a hilltop with no opportunity to make new friends and no escape.

MissEliza · 13/05/2020 23:07

There was a man who was stopped from taking a selfie by MM's security at Wimbledon. He didn't even realise she was there until they stopped him. Was he making it up too?

RosesandIris · 13/05/2020 23:11

Yes indeed. She must be so lonely.
