Thank you for agreeing Danydish . I am not going to list members of the RF's stupid things they've done, but there is plenty out there. Irritatingly for you, Harry is not the only one haha.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 02/05/2020 17:16

Oh, you must watch 'Normal People', that paragraph makes you sound like the main lead in it.

I will, Roussette! You've got me intrigued!Grin

Dandyish · 02/05/2020 17:25

It’s very poor form to dismiss racist actions and speech to “doing stupid things”.

The only real comparator to Harry based on age, sex and status is of course William. I know that William has been publicly revealed to have done and said stupid things. I know I’m not aware though that he’s been publicly revealed to have called people racist slurs or dressed up in an offensive costume Harry has.

Roussette · 02/05/2020 17:26

Honestly, one of the best things I've seen on TV for a long time. Atmospheric, just wonderful acting, I so much wanted to be young again watching this. Just make a note, there's a lot of sex in it, but it really is not gratuitous..
Please don't read too much into me saying you make me think of the main lead... I'm thinking of your story and meeting your DH in Uni and all of that. don't want you to come back on here and be insulted!

Roussette · 02/05/2020 17:29

Oh do give over Dandyish I thought we'd covered this. Obviously not. You're like a dog with a bone.

OK, call it something else than stupid things then. Insulting things. Wrong things. Immature and poor things. You choose.

Do you not think William, being heir to the throne, would've been more protected from his stupid/bad/insulting things getting out...
I do.

Dandyish · 02/05/2020 17:31

Racist things, is my choice of term.

Roussette · 02/05/2020 17:31

p.s. you are sounding very regal telling me I have 'poor form'
Grin

LittleBearPad · 02/05/2020 17:36

But Williams going to do everything now. Not two-thirds or three quarters or whatever fraction you want to pick. Everything.

This has a consequent impact on his family life. Just as the Duke of Windsor abdicating impacted the Queen’s family life. I think Kate has some right to be fairly miffed.

By the time H&M threw their toys out the pram about the procession at the commonwealth ceremony I imagine Kate was thoroughly fed up with both of them and their antics.

Mamamia456 · 02/05/2020 17:38

Roussette - I think the difference between Harry and William growing up is that William would have learned from a young age that he was heir to the throne and so wouldn't have had as much freedom as Harry in which to make mistakes that would be reported in the press.

Dandyish · 02/05/2020 17:39

A regal dog with a bone then. A cross perhaps between the British bulldog used in Churchill ads and a corgi. Or whatever cross-breed the Queen has now. As long as I have a tiara crown and a bone - make it a rib-eye one from a Duchy of Cornwall cow please.

Mamamia456 · 02/05/2020 17:43

LittleBearPad - I don't think it will all fall to William. Some of Harry's royal duties will be given to Sophie and Edward and maybe Beatrice and Eugénie. It's not like Harry has abdicated.

thisenglishlife · 02/05/2020 17:45

Clarence House and Kensington Palace staff have form for leaking. The media campaign and leaking ramped up after the Sussexes had their very successful first foreign tour and again when the papers were hinting about William's possible affair* (he used human rights law to shut down the media).
*Which he may not have had

If I were Kate, I would be fucking furious with them.
Why? What have they done to her? Meghan wasn't even at Charlotte's dress fitting. It was originally reported as Kate crying there (new baby hormones, tears of happiness) and then H&M non fans saying Meghan had made her cry?? I find the royal rota papers rather misogynistic. Minus the Commonwealth Service, Kate has always seemed happy and at ease with H&M.

I remember when K&W became engaged, Harry said he was looking forward to getting to know her (he had spent some time with her, but didn't know her that much). He has also said (pre-Meghan days) that he and William weren't as close as people thought.

William and Harry were part of a small club (young British royals), which helped them understand their unique restrictions and difficulties... But they had different friend groups, different careers, lived in different countries, etc.

Harry wore the nasty nazi uniform during Prince William's rather offensive Out of Africa themed birthday party (his theme). It featured blackface, tribal costumes, witch Doctor custumes and banana costumes (!!).

What is 'everything'? His family life looks wonderful, I imagine theyve spent most of the last few weeks playing tennis and swimming. As for the duke of windsor hardly comparable to Harry, he was the king Hmm

As for William allegedly hushing up the media, may I ask your opinion @Mamamia456 ?

Dandyish · 02/05/2020 17:54

Are you saying he wore the Nazi uniform twice? I thought it was just once.

The time he was captured wearing it was at a party for his friend. It wasn’t William’s 21st. Unless you have a source saying so, I’m going by what was reported in the Guardian.

Dandyish · 02/05/2020 18:00

Or there’s this in The Telegraph where it says Prince Harry wore the costume at Harry Meade’s 22nd birthday party - same friend as what The Guardian says.

Dandyish · 02/05/2020 18:02

Perhaps you’d like to get your post removed @thisenglishlife for being incorrect and inflammatory about Prince William.

Cerseirys · 02/05/2020 18:03

Harry wore the Nazi costume (Rommel's Afrikakorps I think?) at a "Colonials and Natives" () party hosted by a friend.
William's 21st was equally offensively themed "Out of Africa" but I don't know what Harry wore for that!

Samcro · 02/05/2020 18:06

How many years are we trawling back now? None of this is relevant now.
I am trying it hard to feel sorry for W&K because they will actually have to work.
It is well known that PC wanted to slim down the RF. So this has helped that.
I really can't see why the york girls need to do more.

Samcro · 02/05/2020 18:09

@Dandyish is it only PW you want protected and inaccurate posts removed?
If we are going down that route all the threads, this one inclued would be deleted as most of it is just peoples take of things and because of that a lot will be inaccurate.

thisenglishlife · 02/05/2020 18:12

inflammatory about Prince William
He did have that theme for his birthday though?
I must have remembered incorrectly about Harry.

Dandyish · 02/05/2020 18:16

No way is the theme or name “Out of Africa” equally offensive to “Colonials and Natives”. The latter is a racist phrase. The former isn’t.

Of course I’m sure some people came up with racist costumes for the Out of Africa party. Obviously it could go that way. But it’s also the name of a film and a pretty standard theme.

Dandyish · 02/05/2020 18:21

@Samcro I was correcting something because it was inaccurate and inflammatory, not because it was about Prince William.

There’s a big difference between giving your own take and presenting something as a fact.

Samcro · 02/05/2020 18:21

Yawn

Cerseirys · 02/05/2020 18:21

Ok so maybe "themed" shouldn't have been there. English is not my first language.

I should've said "equally offensive Out of Africa party". The costumes that appeared in the press certainly were and I struggle to believe that, when coming up with the theme, William imagined everyone would come dressed as Karen Blixen or Denis Finch-Hatton.

mrscampbellblackagain · 02/05/2020 18:22

I loved the film Out of Africa Smile

I once had a farm in Africa . . . Probably where Harry wishes he was now and maybe William too.

God, you have to feel sorry for both of them really don't you? I know they are super rich but so is the Duke of Westminster and he has none of the criticism or scary stalker fans either.
