Is there something seriously wrong with him?

Although I do find the sudden adoration of the Cambridges to be quite irritating. They only look good compared to Harry and Meghan which is a pretty low bar. They arent praised for doing anything right just for not doing anything wrong and by that, I mean they dont do anything at all.

TimeLady · 20/04/2020 11:31

i lost my respect -if i had any- for obama when he said uk will be at the end of the trading queue if brexit happens.

Me too.

Dogwithanovenmit · 20/04/2020 11:32

The two of them remind me of Becky Sharp and Rawdon Crawley from Thackeray’s Vanity Fair.

Skybluepink123 · 20/04/2020 11:33

Apparently there is going to be a virtual court hearing on Friday when MM and the Mail have the case heard.

CallmeAngelina · 20/04/2020 11:35

What are the odds looking like for who is likely to "win?"

KonTikki · 20/04/2020 11:38

I thought she had a stone bonker case as she has property rights to the letter.
But the Daily Smell wouldn't fight it unless their lawyers think otherwise.
Have to see what the legal arguments are.

RubyViolet · 20/04/2020 11:42

They are destroying their own reputation. I am not a Royalist but always liked Harry’s spirit. Totally approved of his marriage, his life his choice. But they are irrelevant in the midst of this Global crisis. All their PR and secret charity pap opportunities just come across as hollow opportunism.
I thought they wanted to escape the limelight and bring up Archie out of the spotlight. Actions speak louder than words.

thecatsthecats · 20/04/2020 11:45

I actually have an issue with his statement when in context.

People ARE flouting lockdown rules, and people ARE behaving with great community spirit. These things can happen within the same streets, within the same households even.

Sticking your head in the sand and limiting yourself to the 'right platforms' is creating another us and them situation.

I do agree that Harry has been shielded since he was a child, but even with what was released - the Nazi uniforms, the soldier boy antics, the a level stuff - I thought he seemed like a poshboy twat.

I mean, his explanation for the Nazi uniform was that he was attending a 'Colonials and Natives' party - I mean, how much more blue blood dickheaded can you sound than that?

MissEliza · 20/04/2020 11:53

@Dogwithanovenmit very true.

SkaraBrae · 20/04/2020 11:54

Maybe he was trying to recreate the spirit of the Queen's speech?
She spoke of the British spirit, 'we will meet again' etc and it touched lots of people.
Difference is, he left. And he is not the Queen.

PatchworkElmer · 20/04/2020 11:54

I think (for people clearly obsessed with the media), they’ve also failed to understand it. Ok, so they won’t engage with those papers- it won’t stop stories. It won’t stop ‘friends of the couple’ selling stuff.

I get that they’re trying to say ‘anything they print is unauthorised by us and may be untrue’, but they’ve made the dangerous assumption there that people both trust them and respect their authority. Certainly in the UK, the public mood has shifted massively against them- people won’t disbelieve this stuff just because HaM have thrown their toys out of the pram- in fact, we might think there’s no smoke without fire.

I’m genuinely disgusted at the timing of this too- in the middle of a pandemic ffs. People are dying and they’re moaning about themselves.

catspyjamas123 · 20/04/2020 11:55

Is Archie well? Has anyone seen him while his parents are off doing a pap walk?

CallmeAngelina · 20/04/2020 11:57

Who knows? They've made it quite plain that Archie is none of our business.

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/04/2020 12:03

Why does she always look so awkward carrying that kid.

StartupRepair · 20/04/2020 12:10

Have you seen the texts they just released?

Because she doesn’t do it very often?

I would assume the black listed papers could print stories from other newspapers. It’s reported in The Times that.... our comment on the latest story about H&M is..... etc

As for the court case. Even if the Mail loses, they will make damaging points in court. If it comes to that. She might win but it could be a hollow victory and they will be dragged through the mud. We will be reading all their behind the scenes “dirty washing”! The Mail will think it’s worth the money!

ArchePenguin · 20/04/2020 12:14

Nope - where when why how?

ArchePenguin · 20/04/2020 12:15

About the texts, I mean.

lizzie1970a · 20/04/2020 12:15

I would say that statement was largely written by M, given the shining a light metaphor and the numerous mentions of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (just in case we forget they're still royalty).

I just don't see how H is going to settle in LA long term. It must be such a culture shock.

BubblesBuddy · 20/04/2020 12:15

Most barristers who have offered an opinion think she will win.

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/04/2020 12:15

@BubblesBuddy

Well I’ve wondered that. It always looks like it’s the first time she’s held a baby.

YgritteSnow · 20/04/2020 12:18

I think The Mail have stuff they want to get out and winning is not their priority.

RosesandIris · 20/04/2020 12:18

Well it probably is!
