Is there something seriously wrong with him?

Can anyone who understands the process better than me (which is probably most people) say whether this whole thing will be argued by counsel on the basis of submissions made, or whether there's a realistic prospect of Meghan, her father and others being called to give evidence?

KayakingOnDown · 25/04/2020 14:11

Did anyone see the Times cartoon of H and
M? Wearing facemasks with the quip - we need these to protect us from the press. Pretty nasty.

The quality media have now turned against them. Even if it's the tabloids they profess to hate, the press are seeing it as a shot at all of them. The newspapers are closing ranks. Where are they going to get good coverage from? They are becoming a toxic brand.

peppermintcapsules · 25/04/2020 14:27

Tbh this would have been the perfect time to do this but for some reason they seem to be reluctant to do so.

Because they never wanted all this privacy. What they wanted was to control everything the press reported of them and for it all to be fawning and obsequious and to also make money for them. C'mon, no one who expressed a desire to be like Princess Di or to be a princess when they were a teenager or moves to LA wants to retreat into obscurity. But he's too stupid and she's too arrogant to realise you can't control anything that's not yours and very little of what actually is. It's astonishing how many get well into adulthood with such utter narcissism that they're incredibly obtuse, but it appears relatively common.

As for her credibility among A-listers, hmm, I think Alexis Ohanian's tweet kind of said it all.

MM reminds me of Cersei Lannister. Spends life stepping on all and sundry in a quest for power and fame but then makes a mess out of it once they have it.

BarleylemonPenguin · 25/04/2020 14:39

I had been looking for that but had difficulty finding it. Can you remind us what it said, please?

BarleylemonPenguin · 25/04/2020 14:43

LaMar - A very minor point, I know, but Harry seems able to text quite long words but always uses "u" for "you"

Laughed at the observation Grin

Mummyoflittledragon · 25/04/2020 14:46

This one I presume. Haven’t read it before....

Why is Harry talking?
Rainbunny · 25/04/2020 16:12

I remember the publicity about that tweet when it first happened and I honestly thought it was just speculation that it was referring to M. Now re-reading it seems very much aimed at her - the ''thrive'' reference!!

I wonder what happened to piss him and/or serena off?

Nishky · 25/04/2020 16:36

I thought that tweet couldn’t be about her, but lots of replies said it was and he has never denied it has he.

I think Serena May be one of the friends who spoke to the magazine-at the time she simply tweeted ‘sips tea’

I did read somewhere that H and M stayed with Serena recently so who knows

SliAnCroix · 25/04/2020 16:44

I read that she 'bumped' venus out of a seat beside serena and venus's mother when venus was playing. Apparently MM had been asked NOT to come because Serena had lost the previous two times MM had come to watch and being superstitious SW asked MM not to come. Not only did she come anyway, but she bumped Venus's seat and sat inbetween serena's mother and husband. Serena's mother looked like she could hardly bear to LOOK at MM during that match. MM got no interaction off her at all during that match.

Speculation/of.course.

SliAnCroix · 25/04/2020 16:45

Sorry that should have read when serena was playing

Blossom513 · 25/04/2020 17:30

Haha Sli, I was wondering why Venus would have a seat if she was playing the match 🤔 Grin

Nikhedonia · 25/04/2020 17:33

Clearly so good she can win even from her seat

Nikhedonia · 25/04/2020 17:33

SliAnCroix · 25/04/2020 17:47

🤣
They are unusually good tennis players!

carnivalisover · 25/04/2020 19:12

barleylemon

In my opinion they have fallen out with Charles.

MM thought she had charmed him and maybe took offence when it didn’t lead to her getting her way with whatever she might have wanted.

So she maybe filled Harry’s head with psychobabble regarding the toxicity of Charles & Diana’s marriage, PC’s parenting etc etc.

If that is the case they will be royally dissatisfied (see what i did there?😂) with being forced to live off of Charles as they have no option.

Bound together in a co-dependent, dysfunctional, mutual appreciation society.

DamnYankee · 25/04/2020 20:22

I feel for Archie's future teachers. These two Special Snowflakes remind me of a few tantrumy and entitled parents I've had to put up with over the years. Hmm

Viviennemary · 25/04/2020 20:25

Poor little Archie. I think there's a lot of trouble ahead. Let's hope he has a good down to earth kind nanny he can bond with.

MissEliza · 25/04/2020 21:51

@carnivalisover that would be so sad if true.

SirVixofVixHall · 25/04/2020 21:55

There has clearly been a massive falling out with William and Catherine. Absolutely icy atmosphere between them all. Charles appears to have really made a huge effort to welcome Meghan , so if they have also fallen out with him, what on earth could have happened ?
It is all such a mess.

RosesandIris · 25/04/2020 22:32

Tom Brady said there had been lots of harsh words said or something to that effect. Sounds like there are been some serious failings out. I thought there seemed to be no real interaction between M and Kate at the Polo when Archie was a baby. M seemed completely disinterested in Kate’s children. I’ve never seen a photo of Harry playing with them or having fun with them either. It’s a bit strange.

ArriettyJones · 25/04/2020 22:32

Charles appears to have really made a huge effort to welcome Meghan

Well outwardly maybe. He had apparently nicknamed her “tungsten” before the wedding, which she obviously thought was a compliment, but in truth it’s rather a barbed one. I think he had her pretty sized up from the start, so has probably extended the niceties and be gracious, but I doubt he was ever actually pleased about the match. The Queen is similarly astute.

So I suspect all the main royals (ALL the royals?) had grave private misgivings, but scrupulous good manners. They knew they couldn’t stop Harry marrying her, so they had little choice. If they had put up objections he’d have huffed off to Canada or Botswana and married her elopement-style. Then the scandal would have been completely unavertable. The palace probably hoped to quietly manage them, but they refused to cooperate.

RosesandIris · 25/04/2020 22:37

I don’t agree. I thought Charles genuinely liked Meghan. I do think that William and Kate had reservations from the start. I don’t think W ever
got on with her at all.
Kate tried, but they just aren’t at all similar in any way.

MissEliza · 25/04/2020 22:38

@ArriettyJones that does sound very plausible. It really is sad.

TimeLady · 25/04/2020 22:39

Well, this could be interesting, if true:

Meghan and Harry biography bombshell for Royals: Couple help two 'friendly' journalists write their Megxit story amid fears they're out to settle scores

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8257071/Meghan-Harry-biography-bombshell-Royals.html

Viviennemary · 25/04/2020 22:39

I think the palace should have made them wait a couple of years. And the marriage probably wouldn't have happened.
