I am really not sure about this. They "felt compelled" to share how the name came about and to announce their new venture but they're not releasing details because they want the focus to remain on the Covid crisis?

This is a mess. Full of contradiction. I finally admit that they have lost their way.

Archewell is going to offer online “emotional counseling”

Maybe that’s why as Sussex Royal they directed bored people to certain online course to qualify as a counsellor in 6 weeks. It was a recruitment drive.

VaukaPinvhin · 08/04/2020 00:09

JudyCoolibar they’ll have even more long lens cameras, their private lives/outfits/hair/expressions dissected out of the Royal family then they had in it. There has been some racism by the press for sure and that is contemptible but if you think they’ll get less negative press attention now then I think you’re wrong.

Ffs, just when I think they can’t sink any lower. I really liked them at the beginning as well, but using a global pandemic to recruit for their bargain basement foundation really is scraping the barrel

JudyCoolibar · 08/04/2020 00:12

VaukaPinvhin, I don't think the Canadian Press are anything like as morbidly fascinated as the British Press, and UK newspapers are so cash-strapped that there's a limit to how much they want to send their reporters jetting over there.

LawrenceMarlow · 08/04/2020 00:14

Judy pet, they’re in LA now
Do keep up

PicturesOfCats · 08/04/2020 00:14

They’re not in Canada, they hopped a private jet to LaLa Land

HappydaysArehere · 08/04/2020 00:21

Very odd. Sounds rather desperate rather than well thought out. Covid19 has over shadowed them and it is almost a call of “don’t forget us”.

PheasantPlucker1 · 08/04/2020 00:24

Whoever set up that archewellfoundation.com link is an evil genius

WobbleTime · 08/04/2020 00:30

Gold Digger? Evil genius indeed. Wonder how they are going to sort that out? Can they buy it back??
(So many questions)

BubblesBuddy · 08/04/2020 00:30

If they have another DC, what name then? How DC2 be incorporated? Or is Archie going to be an only child? Such a silly name for their foundation. But they are now looking very silly and irrelevant.

WobbleTime · 08/04/2020 00:31

V funny though

WobbleTime · 08/04/2020 00:35

Second son - to be called Wellington?
Arche and Wel
Or something ... Hmm
Luckily really that Archie was a boy. Can’t think of any girls names that would have fitted with Arche

LawrenceMarlow · 08/04/2020 00:39

Wellington’s a good idea for son no.2

Archimedes if Arch was a girl

LawrenceMarlow · 08/04/2020 00:40

Or Archimeges

The Canadian press might not be as morbidly fascinated as the UK press but the press in the US are pretty relentless. Then you have the trash tv about celebs and E! News online which aren’t renowned for the fair, accurate or restrained coverage of celebs .

GarlicSoup · 08/04/2020 01:00

Terrible name, shite timing.

eaglejulesk · 08/04/2020 01:04

Honestly, they seem a million miles away now from anything relevant or important.

Yep

MissEliza · 08/04/2020 01:48

I can't believe they've launched their foundation now. Who on earth advises them?

RosesandIris · 08/04/2020 05:38

Is this actually true? This foundation is going to offer online counselling? It just gets more ludicrous by the week.
Notice not one word wishing Boris Johnson well. Just me. me, me.

ludicrouslemons · 08/04/2020 06:04

They're just not that bright. It's not like you have a job interview to be royal and the best person gets the job.

Take away all the advisors, they're just normal people who don't have much insight into anything. Certainly not the expertise to set up a charity.

I suspect they'll return to the royal fold once the year is up, but do limited activities.

RosesandIris · 08/04/2020 06:06

They’ll really look ridiculous if they do that. I think they will stick it out out of pride. Also M absolutely hates being constricted by protocol.

Joans3rddaughter · 08/04/2020 06:08

Been following the BeRo thread. They could have rebranded SuRo.

Mummyoflittledragon · 08/04/2020 06:30

Ooh glad to see I’ not the only Confused one!

Yesterday I was mulling over how arch should be pronounced. One possibility sounded very like the German for arse.

Arschwell anyone?

Then looking at letter patterns, I realise I’ve reached my schwelle or threshold for this pair of clowns, now attempting to profiteer out of covid19. Ie misery and death.

I really wish these arsches would arsch off.

And counselling ffs. These wallies need it in bucketloads themselves. Preach. Preach. Preach. How about listen for a change?
