Well, I think MM is absolutely lovely in lots of ways and obviously a fabulous person who will change the world for the better through the sheer force of her personality. She clearly gets on really well with kids and young people. Harry is clearly missing Archie which is why he's so miserable-looking, but he will also change the world with his eco stuff and starting a new charity for homeless soldiers.

Is that in the spirit do we think?

TryMeAgain · 09/03/2020 18:33

I’m sure sure it’s fawning enough yolo Grin

PelicanPie · 09/03/2020 18:33

My estimation of Edward has skyrocketed. He used to be in the 'entertainment industry' himself and probably has a lot of sympathy for M.
I hope the whole family can get on with their lives without being undermined and sniped at now. I think H has really let himself down in the past few months. He could have summoned the energy to make an effort , at least for the sake of his Grandmother if nothing else. He's really behaved poorly.

PelicanPie

What did H do, or not do? I can't keep up.

Thank you.

TryMeAgain · 09/03/2020 18:36

Yes I think Edward behaves particularly appropriately today. Harry has been shown as being surly and childish. I’d guess even M isn’t that happy with his attitude and the resulting grumpy photographs. Goes against the overall farewell image they were obviously trying to craft.

MNHQ are being consistent with the #benice at the moment - I had a thread about Phillip Schofield removed as not being in the spirit.
They have also removed threads in the past which were critical of laid into Lily Allen, Katie Price, Davina McCall, Jamie/Jools Oliver, two Glee people iirc and Jack Monroe.
I am not sure any of those got beyond a few threads, certainly not double figures. If you were to report bitchiness against Kate on any style threads I reckon they will remove them too.

HarryDaylight · 09/03/2020 18:38

Same here, PelicanPie He and Sophie made a point of stopping and admiring the Highland dancers before entering the Cathedral, and he showed kindness and affection to the family when inside.

SenecaFallsRedux · 09/03/2020 18:39

Hers were very high performance curtsies

Not really. Meghan bobbed only slightly lower than Kate did. And I think it was charming of Meghan to curtsy to Charles when protocol does not require it.

SaidTheActressToTheBishop · 09/03/2020 18:40

The other thread and the people who want these shit down don’t care about people in general being slagged off

They actively slag off white people

They rejoice when we do it too

So if we say that Boris’s pregnant partner is clearly not the maternal type when pregnant because she didn’t stop to say hello to school children, that’s ok is it?

If it’s good enough for the other thread...

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 09/03/2020 18:41

I also thought Edward was charm itself. I thought everyone did OK today actually, in the face of intense scrutiny. A big sigh of relief all round, no doubt.

yolofish · 09/03/2020 18:41

Edward has very good manners, well brung up innit. I actually really like Kate, I think she's played a long game very well, and I can imagine she'd be a lot of fun if you knew her - but private person publicly a la HMQ. I like Camilla too, can imagine her being very indiscreet but funny! Sophie plays a blinder all the time.

Just wondering why Anne wasnt there today? She's also someone I have a lot of time for. Funny how the women are the ones with the character.

You say charming I say taking the piss

We have different opinions it’s allowec

Let me get my curtesy measuring ruler out and get back to you

I think Anne probably went on the lash after the Scotland game. #dying

yolofish · 09/03/2020 18:46

We used to have to curtsey to the nuns when I was at boarding school. It is amazing how quickly and dismissively one can curtsey if you feel like it. ('Dumb insolence' was my particular crime - does that even exist any more?)

yolofish · 09/03/2020 18:46

encyclo Grin. Yes of course, and as one gets older hangovers are much harder work!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 09/03/2020 18:47

Kate's not having any of it is she? good on her, she's put in the time and the effort

If you're right about her view then I'd suggest the second sentence explains the first
Whatever anyone thinks of Kate there's no denying she's given her all to the job, and a woman like that's unikely to admire someone who's perceived not to have given it a fair go

Encyclo · 09/03/2020 18:48

Chalk. It. Down Yolo 😂

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 09/03/2020 18:48

Depends how you feel about charm. I find it manipulative and false. So although I don't personally have an opinion about the curtsy, the fact that it might be considered charming would not be a plus in my book.

PelicanPie · 09/03/2020 18:49

Ah yolo you are a woman after my own heart!

I’ve not seen the coverage from today did it look quite awkward? I wonder how much relationship the brothers have noW or whether they are still at war as per the daily mails fantasies

OMG!!!!!! Shock Shock

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 09/03/2020 18:52

And I realise I described Edward as "charm itself" in my earlier post so let me correct myself. I found his conduct to be well mannered, friendly and without artifice. That kind of charming.

yolofish · 09/03/2020 18:52

TBF, if my father in law was funding my new lifestyle to the tune of x million ££ a year I'd probably curtsey to him whenever I could. Just sayin'.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 09/03/2020 18:54

My very thought, yolo ...
