They don't want social media to leave them alone and, whilst they would like to, they can't cherry-pick what press they get, only having positive spin.
The sad thing for them is that they need media coverage in order to have their "brand" out there and earn the millions they will need (once Charles stops supporting them at nearly 40) for the lifestyle they want to lead.

Mumsnet is a discussion forum, not an echo-chamber. You cannot ring-fence threads to only get posts you want. Doesn't work like that. Title the thread whatever you want but we can all post on it if we like.

Why are people saying H&M hired a photographer to take photos of them delivering meals? The footage is from a CCTV camera!

Ordinarily, each week our volunteers contribute more than 800 hours of labor to our kitchen and office operations, but to minimize the spread of COVID-19, we are asking them to stay home. How can H&M volunteer when this charity is only using paid professionals ?

I would be really disillusioned if I had previously been a volunteer and would have built up friendships with those I delivered to, who I would be worried about, to see this in the media. It is terrible.

The thread title was a question. It could be answered either yes or no. Moving forward I would say that, for many people, what they do now is irrelevant. They are not living here and they are not part of the Royal family in terms of roles and responsibility.

I’m not unhappy about their decision as it doesn’t affect me. In general though it looks like they have left responsibility and duty to others which appears self centred and scheming. Once you become a brand separate from the Royal family your status changes and you need the media in all forms, so you court it. If you are not in the news you are nothing. Especially in la la land. Will Harry really love this life? We will see but it already looks pretty meaningless for him, other than being with his wife who is happier and his DS. Maybe that’s enough but it’s hardly relevant to most of us in the uk. Before long we truly won’t care.

But if it is from a paparazzo, they need a new camera!

Because it's all bollocks Toasted, everything they do is for publicity. If they really cared they'd donate money, but there's no publicity in that. They think the public are idiots, but actually, most people can see through them and they're fast becoming an absolute joke.

Do find it really weird to come on a thread for people who are actively looking at them in a positive fashion (see thread title) and post endless vitriol. Anyway... off you go... it's all yours!

sorry not me. can't stand the hi jacking. this thread is now just like the zillion others sadly. maybe we could just start a chat thread. leave their name out of the title. but some how I think the haters will pile in still.

Vitriol is a term that seems to be bandied around on here a lot these days, possibly as an attempt to close down debate.

The word vitriol means bitter criticism or malice. That's happened here over the course of the thread AFAIC. You may feel different.

I have said over months Bubbles that they have done some things wrong, handled some things badly etc. This thread is about looking through a positive lens at them. Not negative. Simple really.

Or indeed any of the hundreds of threads that sprung up every time Meghan so much as breathed, even when she was in the royal family. The threads about William and Kate have been few and far between.

FWIW I don't think any of them are perfect and there is legitimate criticism to be made of all of them.
