I thought the telegraph was going to release the details anyway as the reporter found filings about it?. Best of luck to H & M on this .

Cerseirys · 07/04/2020 12:26

Ah here we go - filed on 3 March, which was before the proverbial really hit the fan with coronavirus. I don't think it was declared a pandemic until mid-March?

Mummy195 · 07/04/2020 12:42

Yes, the Telegraph was going to report on it regardless. It was on the public domain now.

Just like they had to announce the suing of papers at the end of the SA tour, it was then later found out that the lawsuit papers were being published, so they had to announce it before the story changed and took a life of it's own.

And just as they were cornered by the Sun regarding the step down. They wanted to step down to being to being minor royals working with HMQE, but were told they could not.

chrisseldah1 · 07/04/2020 12:50

Ahhh makes sense @mummy195. I don’t mind the name , read the background on how they it came about. It’s a minefield atm with Covid dominating the headlines ( rightly so).

There is already criticism about the timing of the announcement, but I understand why they had to give more details about it.

LaMarschallin · 07/04/2020 12:52

referred to as 'Archie' as if he does not exist.

Why does calling him by his given first name - it's not even an irreverent abbreviation like "Liz" for the queen - imply he doesn't exist?
What should he be called?

Mummy195 · 07/04/2020 12:54

The quotation marks were meant to say that it's all a lie. These people had a lot to say that, she was wearing a fake bump and that there is no baby.

Mummy195 · 07/04/2020 12:55

I don't see anything wrong with the name at all. It's even being explained what it means.

LaMarschallin · 07/04/2020 13:06

The quotation marks were meant to say that it's all a lie.

Oh. Right...

I shall go back to singing "This
Joyful Eastertide" and envying Easter eggs.
Little pleasures, but good in these times.

ClapForCats · 07/04/2020 13:26

@LaMarschallin

I have always sung "This joyful Eastertide" as a special request at church.

It is too difficult for the general congregation, IMO.

It may be a "little pleasure" but singing is so good for the soul.

I am struggling to see what "Archewell" has to offer the world.

Nothing at all, probably. (Notwithstanding people's inability to pronounce it.)

ClapForCats · 07/04/2020 13:27

@Mummy195

Can the Sussexes do nothing which will not attract your support and praise?

They are not perfect, you know. You do not have to defend absolutely everything they do.

Mummy195 · 07/04/2020 13:40

Don't know if anyone heard MM's voice for the documentary.

Granted that documentaries don't usually have many review. I was surprised that some people wanted to compare her to David Attenborough, I mean even long standing doc presenters are not compared to him surely. Some called it cheesy or sugary, but it's for Disney, so I guess a lot of small children would be watching it without expecting too much seriousness and trauma of the situation.

When people actually viewed it, it was rated as 81%(critics) to 87% (audience) on Rotten Tomatoes.

You can hear her voice on this clip.

Obviously, their supporters were happy with it.

People have created this thread because they are sick and tired of all the negativity regarding the couple. Several times they have also asked for positive stories to be reported about them, and that is what I am doing,

Personally, I cannot see this negative narrative that is being pushed at the moment, so I will try to continue to post the positive sides as well. I think we have more than enough people posting negatives about them.

Port1aCastis · 07/04/2020 13:50

I think there's enough shite going on in this world without wasting time picking on one woman so Im off to pick up a prescription for my elderly neighbour and then do her garden for her which is far more satisfying and productive

Roussette · 07/04/2020 13:52

phoenixrosehere

Absolutely. The article puts it just like I would like to if I were writing an article but am not eloquent enough Grin

This is just the one thread where we look for the good in them, not hunt mercilessly for the bad AFAIC

Mummy195 · 07/04/2020 13:52

And for those who have not seen it, here is an account from one of the commonwealth students regarding that last engagement MM had in the UK.

Cerseirys · 07/04/2020 13:53

I guess an equal question to ask is why everyone looks for the negative in everything they do? I'm convinced that had Meghan done a garden for the Chelsea Flower Show or appeared with Mary Berry on the BBC at Christmas then the narrative would've been very different. She would've probably been accused of attention-seeking!

chrisseldah1 · 07/04/2020 14:14

Where is this documentary being shown? I know it’s Disney so been looking for it on Disney channels😂. My kids love animal documentaries since being on a safari so think this would be up their streak.

Hopefully this one is not too brutal, there are some on Natgeo atm that I can’t allow them to watch as are bit too much.

I love David Attenborough btw, he has the most soothing voice.

CallmeAngelina · 07/04/2020 14:27

She was widely praised for the cookbook for Grenfell thing she did, and rightly so. It was a great initiative.

Cerseirys · 07/04/2020 14:31

She was but then the press dug and dug until they found out that some terrorism suspects had worshipped at the mosque attached to the community centre that hosted the kitchen.

It's a streaming service, Disney +. Sky will automatically leave it on your APPS - like they did with YouTubeKids. You have to register online for it though.

It's rather family friendly, taking into consideration young children (hence the sugary tones).

DA is a legend. that is why I was a bit surprised about the comparison.

phoenixrosehere · 07/04/2020 14:40

They are not perfect, you know. You do not have to defend absolutely everything they do.

We all know that but they also aren’t villains either despite what people such as yourself would love for them to be. They’ve made missteps and mistakes like anybody else. . Some of those missteps were extremely blown out of proportion or fabricated lies. Are you really so against them to deny even ignore that there is a double standard at play.

You say you want them to shut up. Um.. unless you are actually looking for it or on social media a lot, you would barely hear about them. Even on social media, you can CHOOSE to hide or scroll past. No one is forcing you to listen or even think of the. You are choosing to as you have chose to be annoyed and come on a POSITIVE thread to be negative about them.

chrisseldah1 · 07/04/2020 14:52

@Mummy195 thank you

Samcro · 07/04/2020 15:03

i very much doubt anyone on this thread thinks they are perfect.
but maybe most like me are fed up with the constant negative comments. Dave set this thread series up for people who are happy for them..... the question is why do people who dislike them and want to belittle and criticise them don't go on one of the many threads that are doing that. why come on this one and berate people for not doing that??
I didn't buy easter eggs. was not that desperate. just found the chocolate shelves this week(asda had moved them)

Yes he is. And I used to work with him in the late 1970s. He is the nicest man, just as lovely as you would imagine. I was a runner for the Beeb, he was so kind. My job at the time was to turn the pages of the script for the new series 'Wildlie on One' as he read it. Grin
