That is the opinion of I someone who used to compete myself when I was younger (not to her level but affiliated) only. There have been previous posts on MN from people who have competed with her saying the contrary. She was known for being lazy, she competed at a high level despite not having the willpower to keep on top of her weight which is necessary, she had excellent horses and trainers, and she thinks little of throwing out the don’t you know who I am line.

Like you I don’t know Zara but the poster who wrote the above undoubtedly did.

Money talks. Literally.

Now I will leave this thread again as I find it incredibly vile and you can write posts about Zara getting to the top because of her hard work and nothing more. And Meghan being jealous of not snaring William and more lies and rubbish that people reading may or may not be gullible enough to read and believe.

My son has just found Pingu on you tube and is at this very moment digging out his Pingu DVDs. Pingu weeing on the floor has caused much hilarity (I am in a house of males - so I have given up trying to introduce any level of sophistication or class).

Oh dear, now I am terribly confused....

1. A single poster reports on viscous content on an Instagram (which most posters here finds abhorrent - and rarely see as we cannot understand how Instagram works).

2. Then other posters comments as a) astonishing that some people are so awful b) it does seem that the Sussexes needs better marketing advice given some things they post/do.

3. Suddenly we are all a horrible, awful bunch of vipers

4. then some posters say something nice about Zara

5. now we’ve really done it. How dare we right nice things about Zara. We really are awful.

Oh, I like Pingu! My DC’s used to love Pingu and I liked to watch with them. I miss those days, now it is all Lego Ninjago and I can’t really connect with that. I feel more affinity with penguins

The weather here is penguin-friendly - ie very wet. Dog not impressed and won't even go outside. She is clearly Not penguin-friendly, in fact she'd probably try and eat one.

Yolo, I think you need to talk to your dog about penguins... maybe she doesn’t understand them properly? Maybe your dog gets all her information from social media and hasn’t really understood that they are well intentioned kind animals?

theschoolonthehill you misunderstood that when I said I wasn’t at Zara’s level I meant that I’m not a fellow British teamer. I did occasionally compete against her at the lower PN & N levels, and against Pippa (Funnell not Middleton for clarity, remembering what sort of thread I’m on ), William, Kitty, Piggy and the like. I groomed for another professional eventer (NG if that means anything to you) for a couple of seasons, I just wasn’t brave or talented enough to mix it with the big boys and girls. I’m sure there are people in eventing who don’t like ZP, I just didn’t see too much of that attitude myself. I’ve seen with my own eyes some of the horses she’s competed and they were not bought for gazillions. A couple of them - not her top ones - were bred from Princess Anne’s old hack/hunter. Horses are great levellers and it’s simply not possible to win the championships she has won without talent and effort, otherwise everyone would be able to do it. I don’t see Katie Price or Madonna competing in top-flight dressage, for example, yet they had money to burn on horses and could afford lessons from the best.

(Incidentally Princess Anne gives good swear; I was once in the lorry park parked not that far from her at an event when there was a shout of “loose horse!” and PA called out something like “oh, do catch the little fucker, can’t you?” )

Anyway, I shall leave it at that. Peace be upon your penguins and let your bollards ever be black and white.

OnlyTheLangoftheTitBerg The posts I referred to about Zara were not made recently and they were made by somebody who did compete with her. They didn’t write on a thread like this where they were ranting simply for the sake of it. They knew her, they didn’t say they disliked her. In fact I think they thought she was quite nice. It was a thread written years ago based on whether being in the RF sided her career. Which it did.

It’s easy to write an anonymous post saying you are (insert whatever your imagination throws up) particularly on a thread like this that attracts a certain type of person to hang around it, (this morning I seem to be one of them, I’m in a country in lockdown and shall blame that). People should be wary of believing everything they read and that includes claims by posters themselves as well as what is written about MM.

I am beginning to like Princess Anne more and more. The stories on this thread makes her sound so real and relatable and funny. Before I mainly knew how hardworking and reliable she was. I really love this stories!

Jeff I think the penguins on the South Pole are safe for now. Even if it can spread to penguins, there are no news reports that is has reached the South Pole.

Now, there seem to have been a near miss at the North Pole, so any hypothetical penguins in Belarus may want to reconsider their wish to go to the North Pole. If they insist, I think they may need to sign a consent form that they have taken relevant advice and agreed to the risks.
