Let’s strive to keep on topic and not engage with posts designed to disrupt.

NumbersStation · 27/02/2020 09:21

Surely you wanted to say worf with their heads worf7 ? Wink

BillieEilish · 27/02/2020 09:32

Hi Numbers! you continue to make me laugh, I do love your posts x

Bluntness100 · 27/02/2020 09:46

I agree the leaking has to stop.

I honestly can’t decide if the two of them are actually not very intelligent, or they are simply so deluded and entitled they genuinely can’t see the idiocy of their own actions.

This whole “they weren’t intending on monetising the royal brand” is a prime example. Monetising is not selling mugs with the brand on. It’s labelling yourself royal so you can then use it as a platform to get yourself prime opportunities to make money, acting, speeches, patronage’s, whatever.

I’m sure that’s been explained to them a million times, so either they simply can’t grasp it or as so deluded and entitled they don’t care and happily lie.

They are going to get to the stage that people just don’t give a shit anymore and want them to just fuck off and be quiet, there won’t even be outrage any more, if will just be, there they go again. trying to make a fast buck and whinging,

Everything they have done, from using the African tour as a platform to announce they were suing the press, to issuing that infamous statement all about their progressive new role and working to be financially independant, to having a go at the queen and pointing out Harry is still sixth in line to the throne, even to the stupid leaks, setting up charities, Meghan says, etc, it’s all the worst pr disaster ever, every single step.

They really need to step back and understand they are totally and utterly shite at this, and need to take advice.

BillieEilish · 27/02/2020 09:52

Yep. Grin Well said Bluntness

Froq · 27/02/2020 09:58

Richard Palmer tweet raises a good point:

Richard Palmer
@RoyalReporter

Whoever is briefing on Meghan’s behalf in the US managed to knock down coverage of Harry’s engagement in Edinburgh today. Maybe I am misssing something but that doesn’t seem like smart PR.

mobile.twitter.com/RoyalReporter/status/1232788683834740739

The comments include one from someone who mentions reporters asking Harry if he would be apologising to the queen last night after his speech.

7Worfs · 27/02/2020 10:08

The comments on that tweet Grin

meercat23 · 27/02/2020 10:08

I agree totally with what Bluntness posted above. One of the factors that has caused a lot of the problem is the constant comments from "friends" and "sources". I accept that sometimes this is a device that the press uses to imply the validity of whatever it is that they want to publish but over the past year or so, the things revealed but so called 'friends and sources' have proved to be true when events unfold or official statements from the palace or Susses Royal have emerged.

This means that anything labeled as from a friend or source grabs attention. I think it would be very much to their advantage for H&M to make clear that from now on they will speak for themselves and that they would prefer others not to speak for them.

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 27/02/2020 10:16

The life they lead is not going to be sustainable with their bank balance. They are wealthy but not wealthy enough to drop $20 million on houses as reports suggest. I can foresee a situation where the Queen or Charles will have to bail them out the way the Queen had to do with Fergie.

BillieEilish · 27/02/2020 10:20

But they simply can't live the life they had and I don't understand why they think they can?

They wanted to change their life. They have, good for them. They have moved continents.

34 million (and the rest) is surely enough for anyone 'living a life out of the spotlight'

Froq · 27/02/2020 10:21

They made me chuckle too Worfs Grin

Although this one didn’t go down too well:

imagine being British and having to pay for all of this shit hahah

MorningCalm · 27/02/2020 10:22

According to their website, they don't earn income and don't benefit financially from their charitable and cause-driven work. Then, I wonder how they are going to support themselves financially.

It is said that the website was made for transparency but actually it raises more questions.

Wheresthebeach · 27/02/2020 10:22

@meercat23 - I agree but sadly I don't think they will do that. They want to get the level of their displeasure spread far and wide so the leaking to the press will continue I fear.

Butterymuffin · 27/02/2020 10:22

They are wealthy but not wealthy enough to drop $20 million on houses as reports suggest.

I'd thought this too when looking at things speculating about what house they might buy. Charles will be subsidising them heavily for the foreseeable future even without a house purchase.

7Worfs · 27/02/2020 10:23

They can’t afford the house they want (think they deserve/are entitled to), nor their security.
But it’s somehow the Queen’s fault for not letting them monetise the ROYAL FAMILY titles.
Absolute pears.

Bluntness100 · 27/02/2020 10:23

Honestly though they are going to make themselves total liabilities if they continue like this, no one will want to work with them or have their projects associated with them,

Past the first one or two explosive interviews and speeches, and people following them to see what crap they pull next, they will be total and utter liabilities, making everything all about them and bringing bad publicity, I mean who the fuck thinks it’s a good idea to fly on private jets just before you launch and environmental travel company.

They really need to stop now and hand over the reigns to a great pr company, fight their natural instincts to pull some daft media stunt or another, and go only with what they are advised.

What is it they say, better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool, than to open it and prove it beyond all reasonable doubt.

They need to keep their mouths shut now and let someone else step in and do the talking for them,

7Worfs · 27/02/2020 10:23

Prats, not pears

Froq · 27/02/2020 10:24

I preferred pears Grin

7Worfs · 27/02/2020 10:26

It is said that the website was made for transparency but actually it raises more questions

This, absolutely

Butterymuffin · 27/02/2020 10:28

Until they decide what they are doing, it would have been better to say nothing. The website statement is all about what they're not doing (e.g. setting up a foundation, now) and what they aren't being allowed to do, and then ends with a kind of 'keep watching, more details soon!' sign off. There is a vacuum to be filled with concrete plans. In the absence of those, there will be speculation. Given that they've been thinking about this for some time, it's odd there's nothing more specific yet.

NumbersStation · 27/02/2020 10:28

xx

Another superb post from bluntness

You just seem to put down what the majority of us are thinking on here. And you say it much better than I ever could.

I am merely a gobshite who has not mastered eloquence or social skills Grin

7Worfs · 27/02/2020 10:31

Buttery I suspect M is frantically pursuing income avenues but nothing has been locked down yet.
