No harm in having it ready for the next event/announcement...

Okay is anyone interested in a Lord Lucan thread? Updates in the Mirror today. Yes, I KNOW.

diddl · 29/01/2020 20:20

Ooh, yes to a LL thread.

7Worfs · 29/01/2020 20:22

The Merry Monarch

That's a very polite moniker Grin

Prince William is descended from one (maybe two actually) of Charles II's children, but then so might half the UK

Lol. I wasn't educated in the UK btw, so finding bits of history like that are a novelty to me.

rockingchaircandle · 29/01/2020 20:22

@FramboiseRoyale

Do you mean Prince Richard? I had to Google the Duke of Gloucester. I had no idea we had a Prince Richard! How many of them are there?

rockingchaircandle · 29/01/2020 20:24

@DandyAndFine I'm not sure I'm brave enough to Google that... Is it an heirloom?

FramboiseRoyale · 29/01/2020 20:26

Yes, Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester, the Queen's first cousin. His mother was a direct descendant of Charles II.

GracefulHippo · 29/01/2020 20:27

diddl , it might have been “the Queen’s green planet”

DandyAndFine · 29/01/2020 20:33

@rockingchaircandle I’ve googled. It was King Edward Vll, Queen Victoria’s eldest son. He was known as Bertie. Here’s an article about the chair. I’ve saved you the one with stick people drawings about how the chair is used; you’re welcome Wink.

DandyAndFine · 29/01/2020 20:35

Link fail. I thought I know how to contract them when using my mobile. I do not.

peaceanddove · 29/01/2020 20:46

Love that photo of KM and Queen Leticia, so chic and so incredibly slender! How do they do it? How???

7Worfs · 29/01/2020 20:46

DandyAndFine Thank you for this... what a riot! Now give us the other link Wink

DandyAndFine · 29/01/2020 20:49

Well since you twisted my arm 7Worfs ...

7Worfs · 29/01/2020 21:07

What a mystery... The bench underneath really seems useless

FramboiseRoyale · 29/01/2020 21:15

I had no idea we had a Prince Richard! How many of them are there?

Besides the ones who are descended from the Queen, there are Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester; Prince Edward, Duke of Kent; Princess Alexandra of Kent; and Prince Michael of Kent; all are first cousins of the Queen. There was also Prince William of Gloucester, Prince Richard's brother, who was killed in a plane crash in the 1970s.

SirChing · 29/01/2020 21:21

That chair looks really uncomfortable. And cold. I imagine many of Edwards conquests were politely faking it whilst their backsides went numb.

Maybe we could widen it to a lottery of the whole country to choose the next head of the state?

Oh please, no. Thinking about some of my own extended family members, if my DD had won the lottery to be the next Queen, lots of then would become even more insufferable than they already are, and would absolutely milk it for every last penny they could get. Whilst wearing tracksuits. If I sound like I am being snobby, well I suppose I am a bit. But you know when you go somewhere and there is one table with no idea of how to behave, who get very pissed and ruin things for everyone? That's them! I don't think the world would be ready for a Queen Emilia who has a really tough Uncle Terry.

ArkAtEee · 29/01/2020 21:21

Excuse me 'de-lurking', but the sex chair was discussed extensively in one of the earlier threads, there was all sorts of fascinating details.

As you were Smile

SirChing · 29/01/2020 21:23

Rough not tough - he just likes to think he is. If he wasn't allergic to dogs he would own an untrained Staffy and take it dog fighting. Bleurgh!

DandyAndFine · 29/01/2020 21:29

@ArkAtEee in one of these earlier threads? I must have missed that one, I’ve only been on a few. Sorry to rehash then. I knew about the chair from Twitter a year ago or two.

DandyAndFine · 29/01/2020 21:32

Ok I’ve Advanced Searched and found the sex chair talk. Wasn’t in one of these H&M threads but in one about finding the royal family fascinating from last May.

ArkAtEee · 29/01/2020 22:04

Ah sorry @Dandy Blush

Love to know the search term you used Grin

DandyAndFine · 29/01/2020 22:20

@ArkatEee my search term was “sex chair royal” Wink

rockingchaircandle · 29/01/2020 22:41

Fair enough, @SirChing- we could just give it to the next Britain's Got Talent winner? Hopefully a whole dance troupe or a singing dog?

Its been very educational. The European Royals know how to dress, we've more Royals ourselves than I'd noticed and after the "sex chair royal" I don't think I can look at chairs or stick men the same way again.

rockingchaircandle · 29/01/2020 22:52

Sorry meant to say thanks for the info to @FramboiseRoyale, and @DandyAndFine - hope that Google search doesn't influence the ads you see!

Dongdingdong · 29/01/2020 23:49

I don't think people actually like Camilla. They just tolerate her. We're stuck with her, so have no choice!

I agree. I for one won’t forget what she (and Charles) did to Diana and those boys.

Butterymuffin · 30/01/2020 00:35

Can someone link to this Lord Lucan thread that was mentioned earlier? I can't find it.
