Does this look a ridiculous baby sling or is MM cack handed?

This just looks really uncomfortable for MM and her son? Does she have it on right? I had one of those babybjorns and it seemed a lot of less strappy and one sided than this contraption?

Omg why can't people leave her alone?

IndecentFeminist · 21/01/2020 10:55

Looks like he fell asleep facing out and she spun him. Or he was feeding previously.

TanteRose · 21/01/2020 10:55

People, people, I was told on the other thread about this exact same thing in Royal Family that this is a "hot topic" Hmm

I give up

WheresMyChocolate · 21/01/2020 10:56

I put my baby in a framed carrier in the shop to see how stable it was. It wasn't and toppled over, baby and all. Poor boy cracked his head on the tiled floor and screamed his head off. Good job there were no Daily Mail photographers around at the time or I would have been slated on Mumsnet.

Or maybe not.

lowlandLucky · 21/01/2020 10:57

If the Paps hadnt been invited to take those photos her security need sacking, the havent reacted and Meghan has informed them instead she has grinned at the Paps like a Cheshire cat

ilovesooty · 21/01/2020 10:57

Oh ffs.

lowandlucky
Security guards cannot stop paps Hmm

DuchessofWoke · 21/01/2020 10:59

Don’t worry about Megs. She knows the cameras are there. She’s fine with it.

Stargazer9 · 21/01/2020 10:59

It looks like mine when I loosen it to feed the baby. Slip it down a bit, feed baby, tighten it back up. Maybe she's feeding/just fed.

lotsofoysters · 21/01/2020 11:00

Yes it's wonky. Probably because the strap fell down off her shoulder when the very wriggly 8 month old moved, and she couldn't adjust it because she's holding onto two dogs, and the photographer caught her just before she stopped to sort it out.

I hate seeing babies in badly fitting slings though. Babybjorns are terrible even when properly fitted, they're known as "crotch danglers" for a reason.

Mrsjayy · 21/01/2020 11:02

It is a set up photo shoot she wasn't "papped" famous peòple set up photos all the time .

ToftheB · 21/01/2020 11:03

Can you imagine if paparazzi were photographing all of your less than stellar parenting for mumsnet and the daily mail to crow about?

Yesterday they'd have got plenty of photos of me red faced and wrestling my toddler into a pram whilst my baby howled in her (probably wonky) sling.

Raspberry123 · 21/01/2020 11:03

OMG WheresMyChocolate that's terrible. Surely that fails the 'fit for purpose' test? It seems like there is demand a simple sling demand that doesnt involve babies toppling out. I had no idea it was such a minefield of crap equipment..

It's not the photo being taken that's the problem. It's the eagerness of the people to use it to criticise her rather than just being pleased that she's happy and getting out and about with her baby.

Angelw · 21/01/2020 11:11

Please don’t shoot the messenger... Baby Archie looks uncomfortable in that sling! Why would you want your baby to be that uncomfortable just to get a good photo shoot from paparazzi? (If it looks uncomfortable it must feel uncomfortable surely) I’d prefer Quality over Quantity...two dogs, a baby and posing for photos.... is she trying to send a message perhaps that she’s happy? My advice would be if you are walking the dogs, do a good job at it. If you and Baby Archie are going out for a walk make it so nothing else matters and don’t stop to pose for photos.
Just for the record, I’m a big fun of the Sussex royal coupleSmile

You should remove it @MNHQ.

IF that is true , surely the best thing to do for all of these posters who enjoy hating MM is to ignore it and not give it any airtime Hmm

Seriously?

DobbyTheHouseElk · 21/01/2020 11:18

If the two chaps behind her are her security detail. Maybe they could have held the pooches while she sorted the sling? Impressed if she tuned the baby front to back while he was asleep. My babies wouldn’t have stayed asleep for that.

Worried234 · 21/01/2020 11:18

Leave her alone.

ScrambledEggsOnToast1 · 21/01/2020 11:22

You know I never thought I’d say this but I kind of feel sorry for her, she can’t even put her baby sling on wrong without being photographed and a thousand random people on the internet commenting. A friend’s husband was carrying their 5 month old in the sling the other day and they posted pics on fb, the sling was way too slack and the baby was kind of dangling around his legs somehow, I showed my husband and he said “he doesn’t have a clue how to put that thing on”.

Meg does the same thing and gets front page and thousands of comments, leave the girl alone, she might have all the money and fame etc but she’s just trying to work out what the heck she’s doing like the rest of us.

KatyCarrCan · 21/01/2020 11:24

Dobby I think holding dog leads might hamper the protection officers' ability to spring into action.

BlackCatSleeping · 21/01/2020 11:26

I suspect if baby Archie was uncomfortable he'd soon let her know.

I don't blame her for being happy. It must be so nice to be able to dress how you want again. Harry looks thrilled to be in Canada too.
