Does anyone want a thread for people who are happy for Harry and Meghan?

Just seeing if there’s any interest. I think they have their faults but I think this may turn out to be a good thing long term. Anyone want to join in?

@Roussette that is true about the scrolling by, and making sure you loudly announce that you are ignoring all posts by certain names and you will not allow anyone to interrupt the thread! Hmm

@LaMarschallin Thank you, I've seen that now. Sorry, I was pretty angry about that accusation as I couldn't care less what people online say normally - that was a sick conclusion to jump to!

But you (and other posters too) chip in as the voice of reason, and you're often very funny too!

I am being my own worst enemy as I have a lot of dull online research to do, and I can't resist popping in as a distraction...

Buggedandconfused · 25/01/2020 10:04

I just think when they H&M had Archie they could see a world of pain ahead for him. The protective feeling you get towards your new innocent baby is unbelievable. They have left with grace and dignity and by paying for the house renovations!

After Diana who can blame Harry, he met a strong woman and together they have been able to make a really difficult decision to leave.

I really hope they and their child can have a happy life now away from the divisive, abusive gutter press here.

LaMarschallin · 25/01/2020 10:04

I was pretty angry about that accusation

So would I have been in your place. I understand that people can get very raw if there may be possible health problems ahead, but you did explain yourself when it was raised.

I automatically assumed "Mean Girls", hence the link.

Samcro · 25/01/2020 10:17

i actually like the RF and am glad we have one
but I think it will go downhill now. with the PA stuff and the queen seen supporting him.
I can't say I blame PH and M running away. must be quite horrid to have to be polite to your uncle.
i do think PW and K are going to be quite dull without Harry around.

peridito · 25/01/2020 10:57

@Roussette @Rockingchaircandle @LaMarschallin

Such good posts - especially Rocking at 9.46 which articulates what I feel .So helpful to me because I was outraged by posts but couldn't quite say why !

LaMarschallin your post wasn't ignored ( esp by me because I'm not familar with the pink ref ) sadly but not surprisingly it has been used in evidence for the prosecution - "we're called mean girls " .

And I see that this morning reminding people to scroll on by is again being posted .With the added point that this has been recommended by HQMN .

Of course this is v trivial but Rocking is so right

they come on forums to threads to bitch, or start posting below the line, they encourage each other and then it all drives traffic back to their news sites/ people buy their papers. So they do it some more and do it worse, people lap it up and the cycle continues.

And it normalises online abuse.

Samcro · 25/01/2020 11:16

has anyone reported the bulling posts?
i would like to think mn hq run the site, not randoms, so surely anyone is welcome on any thread.
i mean obviously you don't go on a RF thread and post about cats. that would be odd, and derailing. but just joining in a thread and talking about the subject, even if you have a different opinion is what MN is here fro surely.

Roussette · 25/01/2020 11:21

After Diana who can blame Harry, he met a strong woman and together they have been able to make a really difficult decision to leave

Yes. And you can bet your bottom dollar, that Diana would be beyond proud of her son following his heart. She was one to explore emotions, she did it differently and was a ground breaker in the RF, he has just carried on her legacy. And well done to him.

I just think when they H&M had Archie they could see a world of pain ahead for him
So agree with this. However the split came, it was going to be painful with lots of criticism, but protecting your family is what it's all about.

rockingchaircandle Brilliant post from you re the online abuse. So agree.

I don't care if I get ignored on the other threads, it's childish and pathetic and shows that they have no answer if pulled up on something that is incorrect. And I shall continue posting if I feel something is very wrong and I happen to be online to see it. Like the post I reported that had me gobsmacked with the total nastiness and vitriol on it. Luckly MNHQ agreed. Quite rightly so.

rockingchaircandle · 25/01/2020 11:22

I reported the one post, as I was sick of the policing and thought it might get people to take notice. It was deleted but led to whining, so I thought it's quite a good record of the childish behaviour to have their posts up.

the cycle continues this morning - a link to the Daily Mail that will drive their ad revenue up and encourage them to print more speculation, while the posters on that thread take it as gospel and further proof of her poor character! Along with some discussion celebrating 'brutal' comments on their instagram post Angry

Roussette · 25/01/2020 11:28

Ye gods, you couldn't make it up could you....

I thought the Daily Fail was anathema on MN. I've never ever seen threads supporting it and I've been here since dinosaurs roamed the earth Grin

Maybe I should've left the post I reported up but it was so vile I had to report. I would be ashamed if I ever posted anything so horrible about anyone even if I wasn't a fan, it was a complete character assassination in detail.

meditrina · 25/01/2020 11:33

"I reported the one post, as I was sick of the policing"

Yes, it was just like stepping in to some FWR threads, where one wrong word and everyone tells you off for being handmaiden to the menz, or if you post about something you believe is a relevant allied point you are snapped for silencing women by attempting to derail, and heaven forbid that you say the issue is trivial compared to a different one

I hope that the dislike of that sort of thread policing will indeed prevent it happening in future, wherever it occurs.

peridito · 25/01/2020 11:40

I wasn't reporting posts until yesterday when Rocking was getting it in the neck and then I copied and pasted a series which I emailed to MNHQ on their "report a post " address .

I thought that would give a clearer picture of what I was unhappy about as it collected the posts chronologically in one email ,easier to follow than sending individual deletion requests which I presume are dealt with by different individuals .But MN have asked me not to do that ,apparently clicking on individual posts makes them sure they are looking at the right thing .

I don't really understand that ,but I'm a bit of a luddite where technology is concerned .

AutumnRose1 · 25/01/2020 11:42

Just came to say, heard a water taxi had been refusing to take paps round there

Good on him!

Buggedandconfused · 25/01/2020 11:49

I just looked at Sussex Royal Instagram ... the vitriol in the comments is obscene. Absolutely horrific. I’m at a loss to understand why some of my fellow human beings can behave like this. The whole thing is just so depressing!!!

rockingchaircandle · 25/01/2020 11:50

@peridito - genuinely, thank you so much for taking the time to do that. It is a supportive place sometimes, some people have been lovely.

Happinessinapeartree · 25/01/2020 12:00

The hate and projection onto them is frightening.

Such unhinged people out there.

Inkanta · 25/01/2020 13:23

I just wish Harry would speak out honestly to the tabloid press and really give them what for. Speak the truth - about the fact that they chased his mother to her death and they can back right off! The buck stops with him.

Next birthday he will be 36th - same age as his mum when she died. He doesn't need that shit and he should speak freely.

AutumnRose1 · 25/01/2020 14:15

They must have signed something to keep confidentiality though.

Inkanta · 25/01/2020 14:56

Yes, something holds him back. He should just come out and say it. Tell the media, the tabloids, the paps to back off! That they killed his mother - chasing her down, and wearing her down, but they ain't gonna kill him or his family.

Let everyone know what he really thinks. No treading on eggshells. Just the honest truth about what he thinks.

AutumnRose1 · 25/01/2020 14:58

.? But he can’t if he signed an agreement.

I actually think, for all the fuss, they will just withdraw and live quietly and good for them.

Inkanta · 25/01/2020 15:10

One way or another I hope he gets his chance to speak out. Maybe after his legal action with The Mail I don't know. I can't see what else silences him except fear itself - of the palace maybe.

AutumnRose1 · 25/01/2020 15:13

Inkanta I meant, I thought he signed a legal agreement with the Queen and that will limit any comments he can make.

He already talked aboit “dark forces’ and I think that’s pretty clear.

Inkanta · 25/01/2020 15:16

By the way - good job to those standing up to the nasty posts!

I haven't read those threads yet.

PortiaCastis · 25/01/2020 15:16

All he needs to say is he's angry and had enough of people picking the bones off his wife and child when they've never met either, never spoken to either and do not know either so go and feed on something else because the sad vulturism is destroying lives

Inkanta · 25/01/2020 15:17

Inkanta I meant, I thought he signed a legal agreement with the Queen and that will limit any comments he can make.

Yes I'm sure he is being silenced.

Inkanta · 25/01/2020 15:20

Yes - he has a right to say that. I wish he would.
